I have a Redtail skyloft Hard shell Roof and walls rooftop tent, they are really good. Nice and dark, Any weather much warmer inside , super quiet when windy And bedding never gets wet can be packed away with. Also a integrated diesel heater..
Interesting, I just had a look and did actually come across it a while ago; this crazy project would never have it on a car, but it would be awesome for a trailer. Didn't know they where sold in Australia
The tent itself is far too fussy. What will it look like after 10 years of hard usage? It won't last that long IMHO. I am normally a fan of this channel but I think that to try to do a review of a roof top tent after a few nights' usage is a mistake. Use it for a year min and then report back. My RTT has had 20 years' hard usage and is still going strong. It has no unnecessary flaps, pockets, zips or velcro unlike the example reviewed here which wouldn't survive a single big trip.
yep, I 100% agree, and I question the quality and longevity in my video; the reality is that the same tent likely won't be sold in even 2 to 3 years because these are cheap Chinese imports, and they usually have a short shelf life. These tents are not a long-term investment like some high-quality RTT would be, and as such, it's reviewed as that.
BEWARE these tents look amazing new but fade quickly as they have no uv resistance and they leak water which causes damage and mold ... my tents have never been used an they leak bad. They offered me 2 new tents but at my own shipping costs which is very expensive. These tents aren't really worth the money in opinion and the are difficult to work with.
Thanks for sharing. Cheers and happy new year Stefan.
Same to you mate!

I am not aware of a Redtail. I assume you are in the US?

@@AlloffroadAu Yes that's right, it's a awesome bit of kit, I have mine on camper trailer. They are not sold in Australia..
I thought so how did you get yours? Self import?
What size is the shell please. I can’t find the information on the website
The canvas seems thin. From your video, it seems to let a lot of light in. Not ideal for people who like to have total darkness when sleeping.
Yep canvas is fairly thin certainly no block-out canvas by any stretch, did not bother me much as I raise early.

I think the 23zero panther would be better value
haven’t tried so could not compare
Not a patch on my alucab, too mutch dicking around with this rtt .
how much was your alu cab and what is the weight?
yea, it definitely can't come close to an AluCab, but it also doubles the price.
I paid $4.5 k second hand weight is about 90kg i think.@@bazza2540

It looks very cheap and nasty.

Thanks for watching! Similar to any other tent in this price class I have seen, the honeycomb shell is better than most in that price class.
