    I use the Fox Titan armour, built for motor cross so definitely substantial enough for most crashes. It’s heavy, but with that comes a feeling of security and protection . I have had many off’s and crashes and the armour has saved me a world of pain.

    I have triple 8 protection shorts which have thick but soft padding. Guess it is not hardening on impact. With 48 on BMX Race I crashed hard after a jump and assume they saved me from hospital. Still had pain and swollen muscles but after a day it is getting better. The more the better on hips for me. I will check this out and also trying to find a good level 2 protection short for learning big jumps. At 48 it’s always a week of pain after a crash

    Got these shorts recently and i would agree with what you say. They are almost not noticeable when they are on. Hopefully i don't actually ever need to test them out properly. In terms of the upper body i went with the almost matching Leatt 3DF Airflex Stealth Body Tee. This is a bit more cumbersome on the back and feels like it needs a little bit of adjustment around the shoulders, the material is similar to the shorts in that it stretches and fits snugly.

    These look ace I must say the only thing is its not got a bum pad like in my endura shorts wich is a waste of time for me as I don't really want to put another set of shorts on with a pad then the actual shorts. Plus if I go getting another slightly thinker under short that means I gotta replace all my endura shorts all over again wich is very very expencive as ive got about 5 pairs. Think these are aimed at motocross rather than mtb. Nice undershorts though.

    • @BOTG_Adventures
      @BOTG_Adventures  3 года назад

      I agree it's a shame there is no padding in the bum area at the material that is very stretchable and very well ventilated so it could be possible to actually just buy some inner padding that will fit underneath shorts

    Hey bro nice vid, ive been debating this a-lot recently. Like you put it we are not young lads and we don’t heal as well. My friends take the piss out of me for wanting body armour, i have 2 bany daughters and i had a bad illness that made me loose a kidney so if i have a bump and damage that im
    In big trouble. Ive looked at all body armours unless you are doing uplift then a solid zip up one like fox titan etc is abit much all day. I would say for type of ridding same as me need comfort i think the only option is troy lee soft armour removable pads one thats what im getting. That is very upsetting to hear of fellow ridder had bad crash i hope he is ok and healing up it sounds really bad. All i will say is i feel like abit of a tit with a full face when the kids laugh at me but ive been hospital and its a real real shit time so everyone should feel comfortable to wear as much protection as it takes.

    • @BOTG_Adventures
      @BOTG_Adventures  3 года назад +1

      Don't let anybody take the piss out of you for wearing a full face or body armour. I was riding alongside a friend at walking pace while we were talking and he happened to hit a small tiny rock fell over to the side was a we were laughing and he broke his elbow on a small stone as he went over requiring a fracture and a pin.
      This was a very very slow speed injury so imagine if you were riding full speed down here really gnarly hill, it would be all too easy to break an arm leg a collarbone from fortunately your neck so why take the risk if you can wear some padding or body armour that will reduce injuries in a sport that we loved it makes perfect sense.
      Being off the bike with painful injuries for 6 to 8 weeks just because I didn't want to wear a jacket is laughable.
      I'm in a different position to you I'm single I live on my own and I have only one member of family. Who would look after me if I was injured?
