There's a spot around 2:32 that tells she's lip syncing on this video. But as we have witnessed on the "How's The Heart" acoustic vetsion, she could do this while sitting down.

The Piano player is her old band-mate from the time she first covered this in After Forever, Joost van den Broek.

She has experienced more problems such as a burnout and became a mother herself.
and has Hannes in her life now, too.
And of course, she's a total pro who's always trying to get better, so it's the result of 15 years of WORK, not just 15 years of life.
The arrangement is practically the same though, I liked that. Love that piano.

In the video of After Forever she was 21 years old, in february 2021 she will be 40 right??!!! So i think it was almost 20 years ago, and she still look and sounds that great
Once again hailing from Finland. I has not been many hours since Floor uploaded this cover & it is already gone viral with many reactions, the fastest only minutes after she uploaded this.
Floor covered this song already in 2007 with her band "After Forever", with her band partner & friend Joost van den Broek on piano. Joost played the piano also for this new cover & Floor is also recording her 1st solo album with him.
Once again she made the song her own & I think that Ann Wilson would agree as she was already very impressed with the 2007 cover, and this is even more emotional with stellar vocals & interpretation.
did you know that Heart was a cover in 1987 , the original was done by a band called I 10 in I think 1983
There is also few video footage from Nightwish cruise 2015. From Finland to Sweden was normal concert and when coming back from Sweden, they had "´Nightwish goes acustic" concert.

This was definitely in the spirit of Floor's "After Forever" cover which also just had Floor and the piano. She has sung it live as well with a more full rock arrangement. I absolutely love Joost Van den Broek on piano.
This is the third time she does it. She's done it with After Forever, her first band, she's done it with parts of Nightwish (I think it was on a Nightwish cruise) and now she's doing it solo. Joost van den Broek is the man playing the piano. he was in After Forever with Floor, and is Arjens (Ayreon) right hand man.

One remark on 'stripped back' versions, these only work if the artists (soloist and support) are exceptional.

The original is always the original. This massively famous power ballad from the 80's is one of my favorite Heart songs (and I've been following their career from the 70's). Floor is a genius. She stripped this song down and did a very intimate and emotional version with excellent vocals. This was phenomenal.
Not for nuthin', but Heart's version was also a cover. The original was down by a group called I-Ten, 4 years before Heart did it.

The key word is "looks". Ot certainly isn't easy to sing like that sitting down. Her posture is key. Her spine is straight, and her feet firmly planted.
@@ChrisPage68 I think she mimed/sang it to her own recording PM just to make the video, I think more support is needed for it and she wouldn't therefore do it sitting down, also the setting, make-up and dress had to be specifically arranged.
if we look at the last part of Poet she is sitting in front of the drum kit but stands when more support and breath is needed.
I suspect the Frozen cover was done similarly.
But I could be entirely wrong though.

In How's the Heart she does ridiculous belting while sitting, and that's live so I won't say she couldn't do it here, but definitely doesn't in this particular video.

The original recording of Alone was recorded By a group called i-Ten in 1983 and then Heart covered it and then that's when the song became uber popular.
I hear you Ginger. I find myself attempting to sing the harmony parts. I think Mike is referring to the slick production with all of he backing vocals and full rock band sound. Major production and multi-tracking. Loved it. Peace.
Carrie Underwood, Céline and this is Floor's 3rd or 4th time covering this song. After Forever and Nightwish a couple of times. Carrie also sang it with Ann and Nancy at their concert.
You might be interested who the pianist is, though if you listened to 'the day that the world breaks down' by Ayreon you already know, Joost van den Broek. And yes, Arjen has has a lot of influence in how he chooses his colleagues for his projects.
I totally agree with Ginger. The first thing I said to my wife that I missed the harmonies in the chorus. In Let it go,she did harmonies so I assumed she would do that in this cover...but of course...still did an amazing job indeed!!

Eh, the Heart version isn't the original. The song was composed by Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly and recorded it under the band name I-Ten, the album was called Taking a Cold Look.

And have got a ticket for her concert, that would have been in october 18th last year, then changed into december 13th, then march 13th, then may 30th but will be now on September 1st. Agree with the harmonies, still I think it was very very good. More like the acoustic version of Nancy and Ann Wilson. Good scream, got a feeling that at the end the "alone" is an higher note than Ann's which was a fun touch too.

i agree about Nancy Wilsons added harmonizing. I think in Frozen cover it was her sister which would have been awesome to do it here too and really would have honored the collab nature of Ann and Nancy if Floor and her Sister did the collab here. But it was great anyway
Floor did her own harmonizing in the Frozen cover. Floor's version of Alone is a slower tempo with more emotion. That's why she didn't add any harmonizing... It's supposed to be one woman's lament.

Great reaction, loved the expressions, they said it all! I do agree however, there's a little something missing without the harmony part Nancy sang. I understand Floor's choice to strip this back...and it's GORGEOUS. But something in my heart (bad pun?) is just missing that female harmony "How do I get you alone?"

That woman can really sing and she have HUGE stage charisma. Concert tickets and flights costs were around 400 USD but it was worth of that money.

Great enthusiasm for Floor as always, Ginger. But would you be surprised to know that Heart's version is a "cover" as well. It was not an original Heart song. "Alone" was originally written, composed and performed by the band "i-Ten" back in the early 80's. Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly made up that band. All that aside, thanks for a great reaction!
