Rakish Paddy is such a classic that everyone should learn. Thanks for explaining the bit about C naturals and C sharps as it does change the character of the melody. I would add that, because it is easy, that there are many opportunities to add ornaments and rolls in the B part. There is much debate over what is the 'core' or basic melody. This version is really something one can 'build on'.
I'm glad it was clarifying. We are definitely trying to hone in on one clear version--of course there are many 'correct' ways to approach the tune and the C's.
