Blue Cut Fire

This fire started on Old Cajon Rd. in the San Bernardino National Forest in California near Interstate 15 in a cut where the rocks are tinted with a blue color. The fire demonstrated extreme fire behavior during the first two days due to the dry condition of the fuel, high temps, low RH, and moderate winds. Numerous five engine strike teams from federal, state, and local jurisdictions were deployed from throughout Southern California to combat the fire.
