I literally just finished within 30 minutes. Thanks. It's definitely gooey. I'm done for now. It's in the high 90's here. Will look over your reassemble video and put it together tomorrow. God bless.
I always wondered what was in there....just subscribed. I just bought a 86 Cutlass supreme 4 door. This car sat for a long time. I'll have a lot of questions for you in the future. This is a nice clean car, 61 thousand interior is super clean. As of now the headliner is toast. Being a sedan not much available. I was thinking of putting Dynamat for quiet. But kinda not sure what to do about the appearance. I'M 67 year's old retired mechanic, I was working in a 3 bay shop and remembered when these cars came out.
A DeWalt 1/4” impact driver is your friend. 😂. Another great video! I had no idea that unit had that many different sections within it. great information. Good luck on the cleanup and reassembly. 👍🏼
I've got 2 elect nut drivers and air tools galore, the problem is the noise makes the mic adjust. Any noise past a certain level and it screws with it. It takes a sec to recover and you loose the first word out of my mouth, like I'm talking in a dust mask. I use hand tools for the filming only. Thanks for watching.
hutchhiperf Ah...makes perfect sense. I watch several other videos that are crazy distorted when they run an engine or are around louder noises than a voice. Again, good luck and keep up the good work.
Would you happen to know who or how to source the vacuum lines to the servo motor? I'm in Las Vegas, NV, the weather here did a number on the G bodies. Everything is brittle and or missing its popular to knock the a/c box out and cover it with a block off plate.
NEED HELP ! The vacuum hose that controls the heater valve , where does it connect under dash ? Also the other vacuum line, black in color coming in through the passanger side firewall , where does it connect ? It has been broken off and not seeing any line it could connect to. What much appreciate any info , Thank you . Great videos
Our cars have 2 vacuum lines coming in from the bottom of the A/C box. The Violet (purple) line is the main vacuum supply. The Grey line is to the heater valve. Under the dash those two lines join to a multi block of other vacuum lines that control the multiple servos.
@@hutchhiperf The multi block is connected and hoses on both sided match . Everything on dash controls work properly . The vacuum line im looking for is a tiny blue vacuum line that has been broken coming in under the ac box through the firewall and doesnt have a space for it in the junction block that would match up. I was trying to upload a pic of it but not letting me . Also with the heater valve line , there isnt a space in the block that would connect it properly with a corrisponding hose on other side . Got me clueless .
The notorious hot/cold temperature select valve which is always broken. Once it's broken, what happens to the broke piece, does drop off in the box, or does it stay in preventing the new piece from being installed.
This is the replacement gbodyparts.com/heat-door-cable-pivot-point-flow-blend-door-lever-p-3147.html If you enlarge the pics, you'll see it's keyed on the bottom suggesting you can turn to line up the pins and remove. If it broke at the shaft and there's nothing to hold it there, it's prob on the bottom of the box. Take out the glove box and see.
Thanks for responding, it's broken at the shaft, will the broken piece fall in the box or will it stay lodged in place preventing the the new piece from lining up.
@@joelwheeler5050 As stated, if it broke above the shaft, you'll have to turn it until the slots line up and you can pull it out. If it's below that it probably fell to the bottom of the box. Did you remove the glove box and get eyes on it?
Is it possible to replace an actuator without removing the box? I have vacuum to the reservoir but the the air won’t blow from the vents. It’s stuck in blended floor/defrost. I bought it from a lady who left it setting for 10 years.
@@hutchhiperf ok. Found out why it wasn't working. The actuator diaphragm was laying under the dash. It's no longer mounted on the box. How does it mount? Looks like tabs are broken off?
What I got was the whole kit. I got it from www.mikesmontes.com/HeaterAC-Box-Seal-Kit_p_1359.html You may have to search around to find a kit or that single seal.
Try here for the whole kit. www.classicindustries.com/product/1978/buick/regal/parts/ml4260.html It looks like Mikes may be out of them. At least Classic says they're coming soon.

I have a grand national 87 and was wondering where is this located if I am going to take the dash off and also is it accessible with the dash on?
Watch video 34. The dash doesn't need to come out. You may have to remove the passenger side inner fender though.

It's the Dark Blue vacuum line
