If you go into the iPhone setting>Camera>Preserve Settings and toggle on “Camera Mode” you can force the camera to remember your settings when you exit out of the app so if your default recording is 4K24 but you want to film in 4K60 then you can switch it to that and next time you open the camera app it will still be on video mode 4K60 ready to go. There are lots of other toggles in that menu that you might want to play with as well e.g. Live Photo. I hate Live Photo and I want it to stay off permanently so I toggle that setting on and the iPhone remembers that I want it off. That being said, I still agree with you that a proper action camera is more appropriate for most action cam stuff. The iPhone is a good secondary camera while the action cam gets all the high action shots. I don’t want to damage my iPhone but an action cam is designed to take a beating.
I recorded several underwater videos at PR using my iPhone 12 Pro Max without a waterproof case. Still working perfectly. Those videos are the best I have ever seen underwater compared to my brother GoPro.

You mentioned that you want the power button to just be a power button. That’s a fair comment but I’m not sure it’s possible in the 5 Pro. You can however set the device to sleep after 1 minute so that any time you aren’t using it it’ll just go to sleep. You can also chose what you want the record button to do by default so say if you were taking photos and then you put the 5 Pro to sleep and then you want to record a video. You don’t have to turn on the device, select the mode etc just click the record button even while the device is off and it’ll turn on and start recording instantly and it will always go straight to the video mode because that’s what you set it to in the settings. If you wanted it to take photos or hyperlapse etc by default then you can do that instead but video seems like the obvious choice.

If you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.
I always see people with iPhones attached to their helmets......
Can you use your phone and shoot video easily? No?
You're welcome. Debate ended.
* thunderbolt = lightning ;)
I'm not a mac user, so I messed it up but yeah lightning is awful. But now that I think about it, light is faster than sound so why did they name the slower one Lightning and the faster one thunder? Interesting...-P
@@FStoppersit all started with Intel announcing first the Thunderbolt standard, that Apple adopted for their computers and then almost at the same time, they also came up with their propriatary connector for their mobile devices - moving away from the bulky and easily breakable 30-pin cable, used previously for the iPod and first few gens of the iPhone. so one is an Intel, the other an Apple thing.
