    Todah Rabah B’Shem Adonai . For many years I have tried learning Hebrew, remembering the letters of Lamed, Gimel but not understanding the vowels or pronunciation! Last evening I found your course and step by step you taught me this ancient living Biblical Language! Today you walked me through Psalm 1! Yeshua has answered my long awaited prayer! Bless you my gentle Torah Teacher who has instructed you with wisdom to teach! Hallelujah! Yom Tov!

    Hi Ayelet, Bless you for all that you are doing with this helpful task. I have a question. In Matthew 6:12 I learned to say וּמְחַל־לָנוּ, but other translations say סלח לנו. Now Google Translate says they are both 'forgive us', but is there some nuance with makhal and slakh that I am missing. Thank you, Enzo.

    • @TheWORDinHEBREW
      @TheWORDinHEBREW  Год назад +1

      That’s a great question! From the Hebrew perspective, only God can provide סליחה (וסלח), but מחילה (מחל) can be between one person to another. So, when we say סלח לנו for sins/transgressions as only God can provide that kind of forgiveness. With that said, it will be interested to find out how was it written and what it meant in the original Greek… After all, this is the Hebrew translation from Greek. BUT, since we believe that Yeshua taught this in Hebrew, I would argue that the first instance must be סלח , but the second could be using סלח or מחל. In either case in the modern Hebrew translation for the Lord’s Prayer, they chose to use the root סלח in both instances, probably because in modern Hebrew we use the root סלח also for forgiveness between one another but only God can forgive for sins.

    I did it! Thank you Ayelet. One question about the word יצליח. Shouldn't it have a ך instead of ח as it is ending?

    • @rp5339

      @@TheWORDinHEBREW ok thanks for confirming but I was wondering why an exception here. Usually the ending ch is ך. Just curious.

    Hello I'm really hoping you get back to me. I'm having a son, glory to the Most High! I'm being moved to name him. Josiah as you know is the western version of the name of the last "good" king of judah whom tried to remove all idolatry from Judah. I want to know what is Josiah in Hebrew is it yoshiyahu or is it Yoshia i desperately want to know the correct way to say and spell it. May our salvation, the first and the last, the alpha and Omega bring you to give me some wisdom on this. God bless you much love sister!
