Alexander Hamilton and George Washington are my 2 most favorite founding fathers. As the first Treasurer Secretary, Hamilton is responsible for our financial and monetary systems and therefore our economic growth and prosperity. Washington set the tone for the Presidency and decorum. That is still with us today. 🇺🇸 God Bless America 🇺🇸. Thanks for the tour. ❤ Author Ron Chernow wrote a biography of Hamilton that is an excellent read. The same book the Hamilton musical was based on.

That was a fun tour, Chris! I’ve been wanting to see more of this house and remember when the 2008 move made national news. I’m so glad they moved it. Thank you!

Hey Chris -- the car painted gray at the beginning is an old school Checker Cab. They were mostly bright yellow originally and thousands once roamed the streets of NYC and other big cities. Pre Uber.
I believe the correct pronunciation of Schuyler is "Sky-ler." Dutch, I think.

I use the same joke with hotel guests who have Hamilton play bills! " i hope you enjoyed the show? I heard since mayor Adams took over 5 people get shot in it!"😅😅😮

This is my introduction to Hamilton Grange. I looked up the floor plans and the main floor plan reminds me of the Robert Mills house in Columbia SC. I think that house is on here too.

What is that HIDEOUS building behind it? It completely ruins any photography you would try to take. What were they thinking when they put that piece of garbage there?

Time for some large trees to obscure that mess.

They were thinking about themselves; ego is the basic problem of humanity.

I think it’s better if it stays in New York. I would imagine it would be weird to visit a northern founding father’s home in the south, that is just me

One correction. Several times you mention that he attended Columbia University which is “about a mile away”. That’s true NOW, but in Hamilton’s lifetime Columbia (then called Kings College” was in lower Manhattan, not far from Trinity Church. The college moved twice, each time going farther uptown.

Back then Columbia U was Kings College ALL THE WAY DOWNTOWN. Modern campus is from late 19th century after it was first moved to midtown.

Chris, dont you think this mansion/house looks like the old Confederate Gov Mansion in Richmond? The one where Jeff Davis little boy fell off the back porch. Very much like it. Good video!

I love the amazing story of his brave charge right here in Yorktown, Virginia. He didn't want to risk a gun misfiring and giving off their position, so he ordered a late night charge of the crucial Redoubt 10 with unloaded weapons. The rest was history on October 19, 1781

I was a bit surprised at the outside, it looked like it wasn’t being cared for but the inside is beautiful.

Hamilton, not my fav Historical figure. I'm surprised he didnt have the Federal Reserve Bank Act initiated from day 1. He sure was ready to hand out Treasury away.
Jefferson, on the other hand may be my favorite, as is Lincoln, Garfield, the Roosevelts, and JFK. 3 of my favs were assasinated (that means they weren't cooperating with rhe "International Bankers and Financiers").
