When I was 3, I stuck two keys in a plug because I was really bored and my parents were paying attention to my sister at that time. Luckily the two keys had a circular keychain holding the them together so the electricity didn't go to my heart. Once I stuck them in the power went out and my parents heard me sobbing from the other room "IM SORRY"
When they came in, they saw a big black streak down the wall and a messed up looking child.

This just happened to me yesterday. I thought I was going to die. Literally! One silly mistake and you’re gone. So scary! I had a panic attack afterwards because I never felt like this before. It’s so painful and weird and I’m so grateful I survived!

In regards to the comment question: A better worded question would be "Have you ever received a mild or strong electrical shock?". Electrocution doesn't always mean death. Sometimes it's used to describe non-fatal injuries. Either way we hope no one has been seriously injured by electricity out there! Stay safe.

I've been shocked, once I tried to plug a dryer in and I just felt a big huge force go through my body, and it was enough for me to run up the stairs, but I kind of wondered how I survived that
i was shocked with 150 volts 30 to 50 amps while standing in water (rv door electrocuted me, the reason was because the plug that transferred electricity to it messed up so that it spreaded out electricity all around the rv) i was there about 30 seconds no one was able to help i couldnt breathe i screamed but all there was were whispers i luckly as able to pull myself off with my other hand cut my finger down to the bone 20 once i get off i crawl to my neighbors passed out a few times going there started developing burns and i lost my eyesight for a bit they call my mom after telling me its not that serious 30 minuets later my mom got there she was far away also one of my arms as paralyzed for about a week. so we went to the hospital and they thought i was fine but they ran some tests and my creatine levels were crazy high 3 times higher than an adults creatine levels should be i was 11 at the time they had to pump water into me for a day they thought i could go home so they sent me home and my creatine levels got worse so we went back and i had to be hooked up for another day and now im developing nerve damage but my mom does not beleive me. one side of my keeps paralyzing and now its spreading to the other side. im scared im going to lose everything i have worked so hard to acheive.

When I was like 5 years old, I was fascinated with electricity and at Christmastime I decided to see what would happen if I plugged in the lights and unplugged them really fast. Turns out it will burn off your thumbnail.

I was trying to plug in a lightbulb when I was 7 and my hand slipped and touched the metal contacts. Luckily, I wasn't tall enough so I was standing on some tires. I only felt slight discomfort, but that experience has made me more cautious around electricity ever since.

Yeah, in these situations where you get stucked and your body cant move is best for you friend to take something not conductive like wooden stick or just something plastic because the electricity can go to you friend when he touches you.

I find that hard to believe, since phone chargers convert the electricity to low voltage in the plug itself; the cable is not carrying much more electricity than what you can get from a USB port on a computer.

When I was a kid, we had a metal staircase in the front yard of our home directly to a separate second floor. I remembered it as it was a thunderous, rainy day. I was hurriedly going up that staircase when I heard a thunder and there's this jolt of electricity that I felt running from my feet up my body for a bit that made me paralyzed for a second. The funny thing is, the staircase was not directly hit by that lightning and it was covered from rain, so I don't understand why it was electrocuted.
I'm an learning electrician and got my first shock 4 days ago while installing a socket and my stupid mate put the wrone fuse in. oh and btw, Your heart is harmed at 50mA and above and when heart ventricular fibrillation accures, your heart starts beating randomly and can stop. A defibrilator can give it a controlled shock to bring it back in order, nothing else...

When I was 10 our physics teacher gave us a a small light bulb , 2 wires and a battery . He told us to make a simple circuit , but I deviated and connected the wires to the main outlet , the bulb exploded and I was getting electrocuted , but the circuit breaker saved my life .

I've been electrocuted several times. When I was little I stuck a charger on my tongue and caused a tingling sensation. Another time when I was really little I stuck my finger in an outlet which was probably my dumbest idea ever. Another time I went to unplug a light which a mouse chewed on the wire and I got a nasty shock. Again I was wiping off the mirror in our bathroom after a shower when I accidentally touched the exposed wire on it. A few years ago I went to unplug my Chromebook from a power strip and I got electrocuted so bad that I threw my Chromebook on the floor and my arm was sore for the rest of the day. I'm honestly surprised that I'm even perfectly fine after all of the electrocutions I've been through.

When I was little, I was curious, I was at my grandfathers house and I spotted a plug with a safeguard over it. Being the curious child I was, (like 4 years old) I grabbed a fork and lifted the safeguard and the fork was an inch away before my grandmother spotted me and pulled me away from the plug, she lectured me how it was dangerous and I soon agreed and knew the dangers of electricity

I'm medically retired at 35. Commercial Electrical Foreman. I got caught on a back fed 277v full load likely 14/16 ampers (lighting) and to save my life kicked my ladder. Fell and broke my lower back. 2 compression fractures, a 10mm herniated disc requiring surgery, a broken wrist, turn rotator cuff and electrical burns are what was my early diagnosis.. later comes PTSD, Narcolepsy, arthritis, and my back will never work the same.... stay safe.

Mon., July 3,2023 I’m on vacation at Mérida, Yucatan while sight seeing it started pouring rain I went for cover and stepped on an uncovered electrical box and was electrocuted and fell down. Today I was pluging a light in my room and while I was pluging it in my finger was by the plug hole when I was putting it in, and I got electrocuted. I jumped and freaked out. It was a little painful, and it feels weird. I can't really describe it.. now I'm scared of pluging things now.. lol

Yes, what you said is sort of correct, but it's neither the volts or amps that kill it's the enerky (Watts)
For a certain current to flow through your body (like the list you mentioned) a certain voltage is required. to define this we have
Volts; Amps; Watts.
Volt is the speed of electricity moving through a point in a given time
Amp is the quantity of electrons moving through a point in a given time
Watt is represented by volts X amps
Watts represent energy, and the energy kills.
I expected that you say about this is you mentioned V and A and resistance.

One of the most important parts is that resistance limits the Amps in reports with voltage.. if you have 1VDC supply capable of 200A of current and you touch it you won't even feel it

And are you crazy?!?! 200 Amp on a DC(Direct current) hopefully you’re talking about a big wire\conductive path with big resistors because if what you said about a DC with 200A on a small wire and has a low level resistor then all that will create an Arc light explosion which is basically you made your own lighting. If you say that doesn’t make sense then I’ll say this the values on the case of being shocked is Resistance, Voltage and Current and power is not in it because power is only used to measure a rate like transformers on then being rate with their VxA or horse power is transformed into Watts(power)

Just watched your video. Thanks, very informative. I got electrocuted a few weeks ago, I am on the mend but still trying to work out what happened. In a nutshell I was window cleaning here in the Uk with a carbon pole with my feet on the ground and when I lifted it up I touched without realising a three fase power line. I started shaking and fortunately my pole when forward when I dropped. My legs could not hold me anymore. I lost consciousness and my wife managed to revive or resuscitate me after a good minute or two. She said my eyes where opened and rolled back and I was breathing heavily, then my breathing nearly stopped and after compressing on my heart and shaking me I regain consciousness and she drove me to hospital. I felt like I was beaten up. I had some boils on my hands especially the left one and I literally had holes in my feet with a bit of black burns and literally burned my socks, had one small little hole on exit on the right foot and a few little ones on the left foot. I did had work boots, a bit worn out from before but all was smelling burnt now. In hospital I spent my first night in icu and my heart rate was very low and my kidneys were not working well the first night, by the morning my kidneys started working normal again and my heart was better but the rate kept going up and down. Eventually after I got home I had a private therapy and my heart got better. Now I got a lot more energy and I work again. Still recovering though. I was wondering what could have happened if my wife wasn't there or if I didn't have private treatment. Anyway things are better now :)

I've got electrocuted today, i wanted to see if the iron was hot already.. i didnt even touch it and vibrations got through my whole body. After 8 hours i can still feel tingeling in my hand.
I just got shocked 10 minutes ago. I was holding the metal part of my charger and plugged it in. It was for a couple seconds though. I just felt shaking all in my body, except for feet and legs and like waist. I freaked out and ran to a mirror and my hair was sticking up. I read that often happens to kids 12 and then under. Welp they were right. At least I’m okay!
