David Faridi Or it's the fact that school barely teaches important stuff. They need to separate us by future failures, architects, entrepreneurs, ect. I really think they need to separate classes and teach different such as how to pay mortgage and stuff that actually is important. My school separates us my minimal to advanced and I'm in the advanced group but we all get taught the same stuff

I had a near death experience with drowning when I was 13. The first 3-5 seconds are the most terrifying since your brain tells you to do everything possible to survive so you panic sooo much that you feel your heart is gonna get out of your chest... but if you let go of yourself embrace the fact that you are going to die and fighting it will just make your death miserable it actually turns out to be a bliss, a very wonderful experience (ironic ee?) ... I remember once I was out of the water i was cursing everyone and all the world for they brought me back from the most amazing state of mind I ever experienced in my life...Dying in a very ironic way was the best feeling everr, the mos peaceful state of mind, but I think that happened because i stopped after 5 sec fighting so my brain relaxed and I was in a very meditated state of mind until my foot hit a huge rock as I was reaching rock bottom and that rock pulled me in the surface... But the experience itself was unique. not that you should wish to die or that you actually want death but death itself is not frightening, keeping yourself from it, is.

    • @Pikabella4Ever
      @Pikabella4Ever 7 лет назад +16

Actually, fish have gills that filter the oxygen from the water. They don't breathe water, their gills just filter oxygen from the water itself. If they get water inside their gills, they suffocate just like humans will with water in their respiratory system. Sorry to break it to you

I almost died when I was 6 years old, I was so excited to go to the pool I snuck out of the dining thingy and I was the only one there at the pool. I slowly went down the staircase and when I "thought" I hit the floor of the pool, I jumped right in and drank what felt like 9383282 liters of water. I luckily held on to the wall and vommited right after, lesson learned : don't go to the pool if you're short.

When I was young my uncle took me and my two older cousins out far from shore. (We were at the beach) And out of no where a large wave hit over us. The wave looked beautiful but with its strong force it pushed me away from my uncle and cousins, my skin got scratched by the sand, I hit something hard on my head and felt unconscious. Luckily I was washed up on the shore but there were no lifeguards. And then I realized after so many years of wondering, I found out my uncle was trying to kill me. Because well I was the youngest, the weakest. Why do you think he'd want Me to go with them far out of shore where no one will hear you scream? Also a few months ago I was choking on a chunk of steak, luckily my Aunt saved me. I had something else but I couldn't remember what it was. But back then I had a messed up childhood.

i was at a public swimming pool with my friends and I could hardly swim. My friends knew that but still decided to carry on swimming to the deep end and I went with them. I was in the middle of the pool and in that moment I forgot how to swim... Everyone was just staring at me flopping around trying to grasp some air to shout for help but all I could get put was a tiny squeak 😑 Until I remembered I can swim on my back and swam onto a float ( nearly drowning one of my other friends who knew how to swim and tried to help me) . i Got pulled to the side and got sent to the kiddy pool 😂 I can still remember that one of my friends training for life guard duty at the time didn't help but laughed at me in the corner of the pool 😒

As an actual lifegaurd I can assure you drowning, no matter the age, is not at all how it is depicted in the movies. I won't go into depth over the officially recognized stages, but if the person can still produce speech they're "struggling", not drowning. of course they may need assistance but we won't initiate emergency protocols because the victim is still receiving oxygen and is not in any life threatening distress, yet. as long as we do our job correctly no situation ever escalates past this stage. A drowning victim, means a bad lifegaurd.

@@vlggrai,, got drown in the pool, 7 minutes under water, 2 minutes of struggling to breathe and 5 minutes of being dead,, my experiences when I experience death
      1. You will hear a loud noise, but your the only one who can hear it. Cause after they've saved me, i ask them if they hear a loud noise, and said, no there isn't, the noise i hear is loud ringing and whistles... is like when you dive very far from the ocean, river or pool, you can hear it in your head or if you encounter zero sounds in the night, when the night is very silent,
      2. In phase 2 the noises will be gone and it will replace by a very calm and silent state and Your vision will be completely gone, it's like your are in space without stars or in the very deep of the ocean,, you will experience a
      complete blackout.
      3. You will experience the true peace, it's like, you will like to stay there forever, like you are a non existing nobody, you have no functioning mind and emotion,, you're not worrying about anything or you don't care what's gonna happen to you and just wanna stay there and rest forever. Like you are floating or lying in the clouds..
      4. It feels like you're still breathing,, this is real,, cause i remember after being saved and wondering,,how come that I'm able to breathe again after drowning or being dead underwater? That's why I've figured out that,, my spirit is the one that breathing while in the state of being dead,, it's not my body who's been breathing it's my spirit,, that way i understand that, there is a life in death..
And after that I've become a Christian after reading the Rapture,, if you've come this far after reading my comment I've suggest you to research what's Rapture is,, you can watch in youtube to find out what rapture is, I've suggest you that cause that is the extension of my comment,,

As a person who nearly drowned once, they forgot to mention the horrible part that happens before you start to drown. (I realize this video is about the actual drowning process though)
The struggle. You're aware through the entire thing, trying with all of your strength to keep afloat, but it's a losing battle. You become more panicked as you become more deprived of oxygen, eventually resorting to flailing wildly with your arms to get a single gasp of air. Until you eventually can't keep flailing anymore and just...give up. Tired and horrified, you accept your fate. It's a horrible death that I wouldn't wish on anyone. Luckily my friends managed to save me a couple of seconds after I gave up.

@@EliJahMilezit's not, experiencing those is not painful but torture. But once you stop breathing all of those struggling will stop too and you will experience the true peace,, you are existing but without functioning mind and without emotions and without senses ,, and you are aware of it but you just don't care cause you don't have emotions while being in the state of being dead,, so that's why we call it peace cause while you are in that state you just want to stay there forever and rest.and never come back to life.

So, we were at the beach and it was a relatively nice day, so we decide to go in the water for a bit. We went about a mile out (the water was pretty shallow for about a mile) when we suddenly realised we were being pulled out further by the sea. The feeling of the salty water slowly rise up to my eyes a mile away from the coast is something ill never forget.
So we were scrambling about in the water (none of us are great swimmers), but we managed to fight the current and get into shallower waters, about 8 pints of salt water later. I screamed and screamed and screamed at the top of my lungs as i grabbed onto my friend who started to go under the water letting out whimpers of terror.
For some reason i was screaming for an ambulance, even though ambulances do not go in the water, and furthermore, we were in the middle of the sea with not a mobile phone or person for miles around. The things you say when youre staring death in the face are honestly comical.
Somehow we got to a point where we could walk on thw seabed, and we all ran as fast as we could back to the shore
We were all shaking for about 20 minutes later.
Certainly something i wont ever forget.
Edit: We are all 16 if anyone wonders.

When I was a kid (5 or less I dont remember) my family comprising of my mom, me, my 3 cousins and my aunt decided to float out past the docks. I hadn't learned to swim yet so I was on a blow up raft.
We drifted quite a distance out to see. The beach appeared to be super small, we couldn't see anyone or even the pier well. (I'd estimate maybe 2 or so miles but it's been over 20 years since then so my memory may be hazy)
Then a huge wave (easily a whole story tall) reminded us how far out we were and I panicked when I was knocked off the floating raft by the sheer power of that wave. Thankfully once I came back up I was basically next to the raft and I grabbed on to it and promptly turned back and began paddling back to the shore.
My cousins laughed at me for being a coward but it didn't take long for them to retreat back to the shore either.

When I realized I was in the water too deep and I didn't know how to get out/back up, I started panicking, I remember trying to shout out "help!", to no avail. It was just like in those dreams where you try to shout and yell, but nothing comes out your throat. Then I realized I was drowning, and things felt soft and still and calm. My anatomy teacher told me, that when some people drown they start to freak out at first, but eventually when they can't hold their breath anymore, they inhale, and calm down because it feels like they can breath underwater, and as their lungs fill with water, they pass out, and die peacefully, as they're unconscious
He had some proof of this, from some people that didn't die, but experienced the feeling of "breathing" under water, and calmness

I wanted to yell for help, but I couldn't because my brain knew if I opened my mouth, it would fill with water. I tried my best to swim and managed to get to the edge of the pool, that happened to be nearby. Definitely thankful to be alive.

Near-Drown Survivor here, I almost drowned once when I jumped into the pitch black and empty ocean knowing I couldn't swim, water entered my body through my mouth, my nose and my ears.
I almost lost consciousness, the feeling of dying through drowning was actually peaceful and euphoric, lets just say that this kind of death is actually beautiful.. its like passing away in your own sleep.
first you panic, second you try to evade death, third you realize that this is actually peaceful, fourth you accept death, fifth you die. but I was lucky enough to be rescued by one of my friends..
was a very traumatic experience, I have never looked at the ocean the same way as I used to.

TheBlazingPutty TBP Air Pressure, if you want to avoid this, hold your nose and blow through it causing your ears to pop. this stabilizes the pressure in your ear when you go swimming/diving

LINKER BLOX i was talking about water not planes. you dont have water pressure in your ears, its the water pressure outside of your ears causing the air pressure inside your ears to hurt. works both in water and on planes

There was this one time i was only 8 and it was my first time going on a real zip line.......then my wire got tangled ........ I was terrified , because the zip line was taller than a 3 story house and i was stuck at the highest part, gee I didn't go on another real zip line for a very long time and when i got stuck IT WAS RAINING. When everyone was finished the person said "Who wants to take the wire off first ?" And i was shivering with fear and everyone said maybe her because she looks really scared. When my sister went down (my only sister) i began to cry on her but not out loud because my younger cousins were with me ....... Comment your terrifying story here 😊✌️

Suddenly a massive wave came over me (I was well in on the sand not near the sea) and I got knocked off my feet and dragged into the ocean and didn't know what to do. Suddenly the wave went out again and I could stand. It was terrifying though.

I recently had a climbing accident and i fell ( what the climbing instructor said was ) ~20ft. So I was wondering how high of a fall could you withstand before permanent damage/fatal damage? ( depending on what body part you land on, of course )

I almost drowned when I was five in the deep end, I didn’t know how to swim yet, and I literally could not scream. The most I could do was breathe out loudly, your body literally takes away your respiratory system from you, its a extremely weird trippy feeling.
Eventually I couldn’t tread anymore so I just breathed in and I dropped to the bottom. Once I hit the bottom I used the ground to try and shoot back up. I hit my face on the pool wall but I grabbed the wall. Its crazy because for the next five minutes my vocal chords felt glued shut, it was so slow and quiet, the feeling of staring someone in the eyes, not being able to yell, and just feeling the water come up over you uncontrollably is just a unique feeling I cant explain.
I love swimming and im really good at it, and I do swim the deep end at my local pool (13ft) but its a sense of fear I get when feeling the water get colder, you can feel the way the water moves across your feet so you know its getting deeper, you have to really maintain control of your thoughts as not to panic. Its easy to panic, because when you do, you forget everything, how to swim, everything and you just turn back to that helpless kid again. I learned drown proofing since, that way Im not completely out of options when im unable to tread water any longer.

Can somebody please explain to me what drowning feels like??? Because I've learned to swim since my very early childhood and the concept of drowning seems so vague to me, at least in a pool, when you have no current nor waves. I tried letting go of myself with absolutely no movement in a pool many times, but my body seems to automatically float just enough for my nose to catch air. I even tried pushing myself into the water, but the water still manages to push me back up. Is this some kind of body coordination I was able to develop since I've learned to swim at a very young age??? And can I force drown myself?

I guess you could try swimming for a prolonged period of time to incite muscle fatigue, especially since you know how to swim. Or swim in a larger body of water with strong currents or waves, since you've already become accustomed to swimming in a pool. Most of the people drowning in pools presumably don't know how to swim at all lol. It's also important to consider the fact that once fear sets in, it would be hard to calm down initially, which would make it easier to just float. That fear does not set in for you because you know how to swim. However for those who don't the primary instinct is to thrash around and get above water.

Mohamed Khaled That may simply be because you take a large breath in before you try to sink. If you slowly let your breath out as you try to make yourself sink, you can actually sit or lay on the floor of the pool preferably on the shallow side. To do this, you first take a large breath in and swim down. As you swim down slowly let your breath out, and keep testing to see if you sink. At one point (At least for me) you'll have enough air to last a good amount of time, and will be able to sink, and sit or lay on the pool floor. I don't exactly know what drowning feels like, however I know that it's fast enough that you don't have much time to think about what's happening, so generally you don't have enough time to think straight.
