The Japan Anti-Kaiju Defense Force or simply known as Defense Force, is a military organization specialized in taking down and neutralizing kaiju. It has various bases all around Japan. The Defense Force is governed by the Neutralization Bureau.
Daikaiju, or "Large Monst
er," is a special type of kaiju that is particularly powerful, with a fortitude level exceeding 8.0. These kaiju have been around since the Meireki era and are considered to be among the strongest. Interestingly, their power is not always related to their size, as seen with Kafka, whose fortitude level of 9.8 allowed him to defeat much larger kaiju. Daikaiju can also be Honju and lead groups of Yoju, but they are also capable of operating on their own. According to Isao Shinomiya, the Defense Force has only a few elite officers who can take on a Daikaiju, and even fewer in single combat or when facing a numbered Daikaiju.
