    The recurring issue with Tekken 8 tournaments is that the usual suspects can literally spam and get away. They keep attacking with safe strings pokes that can get them launches with too much combo damage. The low tiers are forced to block and wait. But even during the block the s tiers can literally chip the life bar away. Easy characters are rewarding. Hard characters are bugged. Hardest steve combo does 80 Dmg average Dragunov does like 110 with excessive wall carry and pressure. Numan had to spent all his heat resources vs king to generate some average pressure meanwhile one or two heat moves from king deleted Steve's health bar.
    Sets end under 3 minutes. The audience doesn't have any time to engage or care.
    Btw i dont think by nerfing the s tiers the problem will get fixed because as evo Japan showed there are hidden under radar s tiers like lilly and law who no one used. But even if they get nerfed the A tiers will move up. Can buffed Asuka or Zafina compete with Nina Lilly or Xiaoyu? Or even top a ranks like Reina? No way.
    In the name of aggression the game ended up being takenover by spammable characters.

    Steve is in good place right now. Only thing I would buff for him is qcf2 damage. It's -18 on block low, launch punishable even by Steve! Possibly give him something on CH, like free d1+2 or ff2 follow up.
    I recently played Lili and she has 3 Low CH launchers FFS!

    • @GamerNemy
      @GamerNemy  2 месяца назад +2

      Yeah qcf2 needs more on CH
      Lili matchup is sooo difficult as Steve it's annoying🤦🏽
      Back when df2 was homing in T7 it used to destroy her

    To answer the question no. People were saying Numan did this Numan did that. But if anything Baaz reinforced the tier lists. King Feng Dragunov Jun Nina Azucena Victor Reina. Numan Steve and Ahsan Ali Shaheen really tried to fight against the tier lists but the strong are way too strong and the player skill can only carry the character so far. Same with another Japanese tournament where rangchu again fought a losing fight with the bears and Chikurin lilly Vs Jun was again the winners and grandfinal.

    Even post Nerfs Drag is showing up on every tournament in top 8. Post buffs Steve Zafina Asuka still don't belong in the same game as post nerf Drag. Lilly Nina Feng Victor Reina again got away

    ngl, steve got hit by that tailspin nerf. his ub2 was one of his main combo extenders. many of my favorite combos dont work anymore :(
    but they are definitely pushing lionheart, and want give steve more reasons to be in that stance

    • @TheMehkey
      @TheMehkey 2 месяца назад +1

      exactly, the big dmg was all behind ub2.
      Trading with power crush still is whack, since the power crush deals more dmg then the LH 1. You are still mixing yourselfe, that sucks man.

    • @GamerNemy
      @GamerNemy  2 месяца назад

      Yeah the ub2 combo nerfs kinda hurt for real

      @@TheMehkey well you don’t trade, you actually beat it out. LNH1 can feel lack luster, but it is an heat engager/heat dash, but they gotta respect it and can’t just throw out powercrush (even though it still beats your 2/3 options)

    I feel like he is no where near top but maybe low average. Numan or lowhigh einning with steve doesnt make the character s tier or A tier cuz Rangchu won twt woth panda in t7 and panda was trash. But Steve isnt the worst char in the game and I hope they either bring back shiro or make sonic fang wall splat. Otherwise he is good

    I think B2 is fine, in Tekken 7 I rarely used it and now I'm using a lot by the fact that you can do ipkb F1+2 after to get wall splat, it does so much damage, it's nice to use after sway grab at certain ranges and back turned to the wall

    I think Steve sleeper op, db 3,2 seems hwoarang-esque.
    It seems new to me that he can just run up to you and mix you now.
    And sonic fang has insane range for its speed. It’s not the most damage but it is a ridiculous and easy whiff punish

    • @GamerNemy
      @GamerNemy  2 месяца назад +1

      Mmm not really
      db3,2 was better in Tekken 7 cause it knocked down
      Same as Sonic Fang..It could wallsplat in Tekken 7 but not anymore now

    things i still dont like about Steve:
    1. LNH is only fixed when preceding move hits. If preceding move is blocked with +3, Power Crush is still an issue. So Steve has no defense options on block.
    2. Slow Heat Smash. 16 frames i think. Cannot come out under pressure, unlike some other characters. Damage was never the issue.
    3. Lows suck. Reactable lows with no guaranteed knockover ie. db+2 and PKB d+2. There are no less than 10 other characters with faster lows which guarantee knockdown or juggle. Saying that its meant to be counter-based does not excuse making Steve have the worst lows in the game ie. high risk low reward

    • @GamerNemy
      @GamerNemy  2 месяца назад

      1. LNH is not meant to be used on block imo, that's what PKB is for. Unless maybe after ub2 yeah I agree
      2. Yeah slow Heat smash is a bummer but it could be worse. Ie. Lars has an i18 Heat smash
      3. Steve has had bad Lows since Tekken 5. The only difference is his CH game was scary back then, right now it's bad.

    • @AntiGod
      @AntiGod 2 месяца назад

      @@GamerNemy 1. How can you say LNH is 'not meant' to be used on block? 412, 312, b+1, 2 and db+3, 2 all automatically transition into LNH regardless of on block or on hit. Steve's buff only give him advantage on hit. On block, Power Crush still beats you...even if you know it's coming.
      2. In Tekken 6, db+2 and PKB2 knocks opponents down without counter, with a high guarantee on a follow up db+2. I'm not asking for a juggle follow up, but just a knockdown as per Tekken 6

  • @Themeaningyixan

    I legit laughed out loud when ppl said " Steve is bottom 5" with or without this " buff" Steve will NEVER be bad, this character manipulates the tempo and flow of the match, but yes Steve was playing Tekken 7.5 when everyone else was playing Tekken 8. I also think ppl are sleeping on my main man Kuma big time, that chip dmg in heat is ridiculous.

    • @GamerNemy
      @GamerNemy  2 месяца назад

      Yeah I think a lot of Steve players were exaggerating just how bad he is. So used to seeing him at the top.
      Mmm the only issue I have with Kuma is his bad movement,you have to move in this game with so much bs

      I knew Steve was fine from the get go. If anyone is playing Tekken 7.5, however, it's Bryan.
      Buffs to his hatchet kick are not buffs lol.

    Steve is now not weak he is ok…but as someone who really enjoyed playing steve in tekken 7 I feel this steve is something else….this steve is risky and 50/50 oriented….its not the safe poke and CH based character anymore…more so after this patch it is evident that the developers and taking him in a different which some of us don’t like…..if I really have to play this way then why not play any other character with stronger 50/50…….they made a guard break into a launcher…..what is that supposed to do in the game especially when he already had LH for launching which also has better range…steve is loosing his uniqueness

    • @GamerNemy
      @GamerNemy  2 месяца назад

      Mmmm Steve is only 50/50 in Lionheart..His core gameplan still remains the same being a poke & counter hit heavy character.
      But I understabd where you're coming from its not the same as T7 Steve that heavily relied on a counter hit game.
      I think people complained that Steve was too safe and difficult to punish and that's why I think they have chosen this new route

    • @user-yx6zx1bx3f
      @user-yx6zx1bx3f 2 месяца назад

      @@tristanherb49 I was talking about LH only…..as steve doesn’t have a very strong CH game…he relies more on LH …a lot of his strings and punishes end up in LH…that’s why he is more 50/50 oriented in this game….and the low damage on db32 makes him take this risk more often…as db32 into transition into LH…instead of a knockdown into follow up. CH back 1 damage nerf…df2 not giving combo forces steve to take more risks to get damge to use more LH mix up….even if you do manual LH….its not safe like feng’s kenpo.
