I met August Zadra in his first year of college in Fairbanks, Alaska. We both had a love for 1970's AOR and hit it off. We especially loved the early Boston catalogue. We learned many of the early Boston songs and played them in a utility shack on Eielson AFB in the very early 80s, playing with a young drummer in the Air Force who I unfortunately don't remember his name. But we would leave that shack with our ears ringing and it was the best time of my life..
Amazing vocals and the guitarists kicked ass! Good to hear bands playing these classics so well after all these years. Better than the original band maybe! Nah, love Boston!
Wow - that's better than the 2022 version of Boston. I grew up in the 1970's so I know this is heresy to say but I think DeCarlo's vocals are better than the original. Decarlo has the range and tone of Brad Delp but his enunciation is better - I actually understand the words without having to look at the record liner. Great job Tommy.
That's the whole point there are tons of other bands out there that do the same and the singers more for the top popular classic rock bands have singers who look an dress and be like the original or the member who had gained a ton of popularity like Brad delp and Tom scholtz. August Zadra here looks like Tommy Shaw cause August played with Dennis deyoung. Hint Hint.....also there was another guy in Dennis Deyoungs band that looked like Mr Young. That's the whole point......also Tommy Decarlo has a similar voice that's why Scholtz got him in the band to keep things going.
Some don't like it others do it's all preference but atleast he's keeping baston music alive. You don't see Tom scholtz an the actual boston band touring anymore. Since 2017 was the last....now hoping Tom scholtz does again an a farewell tour or something cause he getting old yet still rocks and looks fit to still play. We'll see he was doing new stage stuff earlier this year.
