I have done Dragon Soul several times, and only just recently learned the trick to standing in the pit to keep from getting thrown off. The way you explain how to do this, and pointing out the timing for letting the rolls happen before doing the next step is so helpful. This is going to make doing this raid so much easier.
I want to thank you for this guide! I have watched many guides on the spine over the years, and yours was the one that did it for me!! Doing the spine the patient way worked! Subscribed and thanks again!
I was never able to beat that stage before. And I was never able to get into a group because I started basically in Warlords . I still have not played this since watching this video but you explained it very well and make it look incredibly easy so I'm going to give it a shot even though I don't have the add on, but I'll keep going until I get it right
It's much faster to simply move from left to right side and back every 10 seconds. No waiting for a roll as he never gets a chance. Same principle of waiting till you get 8+ spawns to kill all at once then down a tentacle to get the mob to soak them up. If you kill the adds one at a time as they appear and try to get a mob to soak them slowly you stand a good chance of accidentally killing it before it builds up to max level, usually by some AOE or cleave damage.
Exactly the technique I used, that and DBM made it easy for any class as long as you had an AOE on a keybind that was easy to hit when all the bloods were in the right spot to drop them in the path of the Amalgamation so it gets an instant stack of 9 right at the edge of the plate to make sure it gets knocked off. I finally got the mount late last year after around 100 runs across all my alts.
I'm going to be trying this, with a frost mage actually. I've got every other drake but the one that drops in this run and I really want that mount for the achievement (and the new drake). This looks a ton easier than running all the time and still getting knocked off.
I've done this raid 450+ times and I am now in despair and request blizz make a fast track system. The spine sucks, everyone knows it, it was never great when it was released just let us skip the shit please.
The tentacles in the holes on the sides grip you, if you are standing in one you don't go anywhere but the secret to never being thrown off is to constantly being running side to side. This confuses him and he never roles. There are countless videos showing you have to do this. I have personally done this fight a few hundred times, it's simple.
The big adds fly away but the small ones don't The trick is to only spawn the big add just after a roll so you've plenty of time to get it over the polls and "Kill it" once it hits 0 health and start's it's cast it won't fly off even if Deathwing rolls at that point.
The encounters are all unique and were pretty fun to do on heroic. It's not the devs fault that blizzard made us do the raid for like 10 months with no new content.
This way takes so much longer to do. Just go back and forth in the center, let 9 stack, then aoe them, kill the tendril, let them soak up the 9, kill the scale. This is not a good way of doing it.
The video, or the spine encounter? You still need to wait for a certain amount of small adds to spawn (9, I believe?), to get enough stacks onto a big add to blow up the armor plates, and you have to repeat it 3 times. I don't see how you can speed up any of that? Unless Furydin didn't kill more than one tentacle, I guess? That would slow things down. I didn't watch this video, but I've used this method for the past 8+ years. Kill all tentacles, walk into one of the holes from where they were and wait until 9 small blob adds has spawned (while letting deathwing spin). Kill another tentacle and the small adds and wait for the new big add to come to you, then let it get 9 stacks, stand next to the armor plate and kill the big add, then kill the tendon. Repeat this 3 times. You would only really need to watch out for the roll timer so you don't leave the hole during or just before a spin (when you move up to the next armor plate). I just did it on my warrior alt and the encounter took me about 5 minutes.
@@facetiouslyinsolent8313criticism and feedback is valid. This is less than 3 mins of info stretched to 20 mins, doesn’t make the creator a bad person but honest to god this video is longer than the fight takes and it doesn’t need to be at all

its worth going. You may fail a few times but its just time.

Really appreciate your help with this one. You made it simple and clear. Really like how to guides, keep them coming. 👍🏼

Thank you I'm going to try this tomorrow after work 🙂
It was fairly easy with your help. I did mistime spawning the big adds a few times and then had to kill the tendrils again. But it was fairly simple.

Didn't all adds fly away when boss rolls?

Imagine how embarrassing it would be to have "Designed the Dragon Soul Raid encounter for Blizzard, inc." on your cv.

i dont understand was that a thing for ppl not doing it solo? I did often and thought its just ez free
gave up on this years ago...
same
i feel like this doesnt need to be 18 minutes long
So he got 18 minutes to tell us it's possible to solo the raid when you just need to go left and right
I just take my wife and have her stand on the other side.
This can be done faster

18 minutes to explain what coulda been said in 3 minutes.
EDIT: Thank you kind sir for sharing your knowledge
Love the accent....
18 minutes for nothing, easy shit just go left ,right ,left ,right ,left ,right move all the time
You should make your own video and comment on a video you don't need. Please link your genius guide, I'll wait...
