This scene and song played over and over in my mind throughout the years since I first watched it. It's funny what you remember and don't remember from when you were a kid. This movie left an imprint just because of the redemption of it all and the beautiful, beautiful music.
What a beautiful couple they make. The soundtrack to this movie is so good. I bought it & listened on my Walkman. In the early 90s there was such a theme of Los Angeles & Beverly hills. I was 10 in 91 so after seeing this loving Beverly Hills 90210 & in 91 point break I swore when I grew up I'd move to los angeles. I grew up in ny 15 minutes outside of the city so I wound up being a little nervous to go across the country.

My brother in law who works on the fringes at best of a career in tv ( he started off doubt a lot of camera work & now produces docuseries stuff like " the last Alaskans " all things on nat geo or discovery that has a niche audience. Anyway he constantly bounced back & forth from l.a & ny. He is sorta one of those people that whatever he is doing or living is more nostalgic when he is in one place or the other. Anyway when he was down on l.a he complained how it's all free ways & very spread apart. Basically the opposite of nyc. Living in l.a u really need a car bc everything is spread out & he said the traffic is unbearable. Their must have been some appeal to l.a. bc he constantly wiuid move back out there. Other places in California sound much better. Like my parents traveled to San Francisco , San Diego & Monterey & loved it.
Richard Gere at his best besides An Officer And A Gentleman! He has said a bit cockie in interviews that for those two movies he complied upon because he needed money!
She Rescues him right back ❤✍ Vivian dreamt of a knight on a white horse coming to rescue her whenever she was locked in the attic for misbehaving as a child and tells Edward about it. Later, Edward makes that dream come true as he climbs her fire escape despite his fear of heights, and when he reaches her, he asks what happens afterward. The quote is Vivian's response. She doesn't expect to be a damsel in distress, she believes love consists of rescuing each other, and that's how it should be. Love takes work from both parties in a relationship, and this quote makes Vivian's character, and the film by extension, stand out when it comes to the quintessential formula for falling in love.❤🌹✍
