    As a mostly 'single coil guy', I can only say, THANK YOU. These magnificent amps are some of the finest tools out there for truly revealing the subtle magic that can be coaxed from Leo and George's handiwork. Beautiful playing my brother!

    Hey Matt, I’ve just listened to this again. Masterful playing as usual. You have a love, patience, musical intention, deliberateness and gentle Fire that escaped Bernie. He was a genius no doubt but you genuinely connect. And Yes this amp was made for “you”! No one else can say that with as much certainty as me, because Kenny built the rocket for me. He built Betty Lou, then he wanted to build a second one and give me the better sounding one of the two. Six weeks later Amanda was born. He chose to retire it. Me and several others convinced him to make a couple more since he was getting very sick. I am convinced in my life that if he had met you, he would have built one for you. This being said, I still like Vivienne over Betty Lou. And again it will take about 200 hours to break in Vivienne. I love you my brother! You go be you!!

      What speakers are best fitting Rocket, and does 212 or 412?

    It is amazing how obvious it is that this amp accommodates a Strat.

      For sure. The EL84 works so well with the single coils. Real match made in heaven. Thanks for watching and chiming in! Speaking of chime...

    PhaeZ "McClane" is as close as you'll get now, and for $700 to $900? No question. I own two.. 18 watt, and a 35 watt version... Definitely a volume sweeper's amp.. Superb Amps...

    I have never understood the whole mystique surrounding Dumble amps. Dropping that much on an amp has always seemed like frivolous cork sniffing behavior. Then I hear a Trainwreck and can definitely hear what people are paying for. This is one of the best pairings I have ever heard. I would LOVE to hear Eric Johnson on a proper Trainwreck.

    • @MOBontv
      @MOBontv  2 года назад

      I agree too. Once you hear a wreck in person, its over. Kenny was a genius. Glad you feel the same and thanks for chiming in. Also, love Eric too. One of the nicest guys out there.

    Love your videos. Your tw always sound so quiet as far as gain hiss and noise floor. Do you always filter these out in post?

    • @MOBontv
      @MOBontv  4 года назад +2

      Haven't done that at all. The Express is more infamous for the hiss but does't seem to be an issue when I record. Thanks for supporting and watching

    Always enjoy these videos Matt. I have a Trainwreck rocket clone I have built ,and wish I could coax these tones out of it. I’m still trying to learn the nuances of it. Do you use a boost or overdrive with your Rocket? If so, what do you find works well? Thanks again for the great tones!

    • @MOBontv
      @MOBontv  2 года назад

      Thanks! The rocket is a unique animal. I sometimes use a tube screamer with it, works real well. This model doesn't have the gain like the express, but the clean tones are to die for. The Archer OD's gold and silver work really well too with the rocket.

    Beautiful playing Matt, how do you go about ordering an amp like this? It was my understanding that JM is still building these amps for Ken's family.

    Wow Matt. Another amazing and brilliant clip. They both sound wonderful. Yours just needs to break in but it actually has more range. With Rockets, the tubes make all the difference. They really do. Also they take 200-250 hours to break in. Mine took over a year. Amanda was a stubborn girl.

    Meh, can't stand strats. Tone is thin, wiry, wimpy, and annoying. I've owned eight, never owned one for very long. Give me humbuckers! Any Les Paul, SG, or Flying V beats any Fender ever made.
