@@dchatz sorry but instructions said so. I have had 10 same and never had any problems with noice - noice comes from rubber parts normally. To open motor is big risk to most of the people. One Japanice took motor away for to place belt - its not necessary - I did not see yours but anyway easy to but.

I'd really like to help you but these things are not just easy answers. You will have to open the thing and see inside what is causing the problem. Inside there are rubber idlers and also a belt. You have to see if they grip normally. Also check the belt if it's loose. The brakes also might cause the problem. Try pushing inwards the two guides while rewinding and see if it goes faster. Get the service manual, it explains how it works. Get also the service manual of SG560. Even the tape might cause the problem. Some tapes become sticky.

Do not lubricate? read instruction first. You damage it.
