Thinking of doing something similiar at a storage unit for longer term storage. Love the magnet idea since storage place would not permit screwing the thing down. My main concern now is snow. (I don’t live anywhere near where the storage unit is). I am sure snow on the panel would not help charge a battery.

I am setting up a similar system. The hot lead from the solar panel and battery tender is the protected contact of the two-pin SAE quick-connect plug. However the hot lead from the wiring harness that came on my new Harley is also the protected contact in its SAE plug. Did you have to reverse the wiring harness to your bikes battery terminals for this to work?

That is really interesting. Mine was plug and play with no modifications necessary. Not sure what you are dealing with that would be different. What year is your bike?
