Purchased a 2mm Clipper and clipped my entire Hurtgen: Hell's Forrest Game. So much more uniform than using nail clippers and strangly enough a lot of fun. Real improvement. Thank you for letting us know.
Thanks for zooming in and showing the quality of the cut. I needed clippers for my tiny cards so size is very important and most corner rounders are too big
Mine just came apart in my hands. I will not be replacing it; too many people have reported issues and for close to $50 the thing should last more than 6 months. I'm glad yours is still going strong.
Clipping the counters makes playing the game easier. The pieced are easier to move around and pick up as the ragged corners to get tangled up with the other pieces.
I think the resulting counters look fantastic. I got the 2mm but wanted more of a noticeable effect so I replaced with the 2.5mm. I think it's perfect for 5/8" and 1/2" counters. A couple of issues to note: 1) I tried to add oil to my first one and could not get the residual oil off and it seemed to displace some yellow grease. Don't do what I did. My second one I did not make that mistake again. 2) One of the brass rings surrounding the piston-thing falls out every 5th counter or so. It works fine otherwise but is just annoying. Oregon Lam said don't worry about it.
They have definitely had quality issues with their rounders in recent years. I bought a 2.5 mm as well, and it broke after several hundred counters. I performed one of the fixes found on RUclips which got some more life out of it, but it eventually broke again. The issue is the quality of the plastic they use. My original 2 mm deluxe is still going strong after 25,000+ counters, because the plastic is very heavy and solid. The 2.5 mm rounder has much lighter, creakier, weaker plastic. Until they fix the plastic quality, the newer generation of rounders will always break.
@@Sluggonics I've been looking at getting one of these and I've been reading reports of these breakages too. I really want to get one of the clippers for my counters, I'm a bit tired of them snagging on each other but I don't fancy paying £55 plus P&P in the UK for a pair only for them to break a few months in (admittedly I've heard horror stories of some not even lasting that long).
I'm considering a 2.5mm myself but I'm a little concerned with the loss of information on some of my smaller counters. Some publishers print very close to the edge with their counters, DVG in particular.
Thanks for the video! I wonder if they are having quality control issues, though, as I've seen a number of comments on newer clippers falling apart in a few months.
The deluxe is nicer and more consistent than the steel non deluxe but definitely be careful with how hard you squeeze since people report breakage on the little roller joint
I bought this and it broke after 6 months of use... the plastic handle snapped entirely. They need to make the handle qnd hinge out of metal or something that won't strain from the pressure of the spring.
I do it mainly for aesthetic reasons. Clean counters just look better than ones with tufts of crap hanging off the corners. But it also serves a functional purpose - unclipped counters tend to snag on each other, and for games with large stacks of counters, this is a problem. Clipping helps keep your stacks of counters from toppling.

Didn't even know these existed. I went right over and ordered one. Good by clippers. And I clipped some huge games!
OMG - I love this! Now I'm off to order one and then another set of counters!
Very helpful review; thanks for the details and demo. I'm off to order the 2mm version now.

THanks for the video. I finally understand what this machine does.

@@FreeFragUK The easy answer, then, is to try a 2mm rounder.

Will this work on paper?

Prefer the 2.5...the rounded corners are slightly more pronounced. I would urge any serious wargamer to get one of these.
Not to be a complete noob, but why would one round the corners of war game counters?

Great! But the manufacturers should think about this... not the customers....
