    this series of LXR-02 tutorials is magnificent and so well structured !
    I think I will buy one.
    I wish you would do a octatrack tutorial too....

      Thanks Mofateam. As for Octatrack - I've come close but not yet ventured into Elektron gear, it seems like a whole other universe.

    I found a problem, that once you save a pattern it also saves the kit settings, so if you want to switch between patterns it also changes kits settings, which kind of ruins everything. I am interested only is specific steps which I saved as pattern, not the kit setting. How do you over come this problem?

    • @RichardDeHove
      @RichardDeHove  Год назад +1

      You need to go into the Global menu (Shift+Config) and turn off the "kit change mode". It's on Auto by default which links the kit and pattern. Switch it off and you'll have whatever kit is currently loaded.

    Hi guys, this is an awesome tutorial. Is there any way to copy/paste track (aka kit) data - osc, envelope, mod etc for a track to another track (or another kit for that matter)?

    • @RichardDeHove
      @RichardDeHove  2 года назад +2

      Turn on the 'save kit with pattern' option. Then load up a pattern, cycle through various kits, and save with the one you like.

    Hi, Richard
    thank you for your work and tutorial.
    I plan to reconsider a few more times)
    Please explain how to apply KIT to my created pattern? not to the factory pattern.

    • @RichardDeHove
      @RichardDeHove  3 года назад +1

      Hi Roman. Quickly changing kits while playing a pattern is one of the strengths of the LXR. While playing just hit Load+Kit. The display will then show the kit name. Rotate the data knob to see the kits in that project. When you see a kit you want to try press the data knob in to load. It's an almost instant switch.

    • @romansfall
      @romansfall 3 года назад

      thanks for the answer. yes it does, the kit changes if a preset pattern is playing. but when create my pattern from scratch, the sets don't apply. they are not there(
      maybe need to save my pattern and then apply kit?

    • @RichardDeHove
      @RichardDeHove  3 года назад

      @@romansfall Not 100% sure what you mean but here's a couple of suggestions: 1) Look at the configuration setting for saving kits with patterns. Shift+Config then scroll near the end to KCM and make sure it's on auto. That means your kit choice will be saved with the pattern. But that's only your choice, it won;t mean much unless you've saved the kit, so...
      2) Make sure if you make or modify a kit you also save it. Press save+kit, choose a slot and name and press the data knob to save.
      3) Finally, remember to save the project as well !

    Is there a way to save modified sounds from the same kit in one project - but lets say different patterns? So that variations not only sequential but also timbral?

    • @RichardDeHove
      @RichardDeHove  5 дней назад

      A combination of saving the tweaked kits and tweaked patterns to different slots? Perhaps I misunderstand the question....

  • @phurniture

    Any idea if there is a way to change patterns at the end of the current bar, instead of having to wait for the current pattern to play through it's entire length (in the case where a pattern might be longer than 1 bar)?

    • @RichardDeHove
      @RichardDeHove  Месяц назад +1

      I know what you mean but there isn't anyway to enable instant change that I know of. Maybe you could try real-time changes to the pattern length but that'd be a dangerous game for live work.

    • @RichardDeHove
      @RichardDeHove  3 года назад

      No way that I know of. A shame really, it'd be nice to have a simple copy/paste step like the DB-01. The closest thing is probably using Copy+Bar and duplicating an entire bar of a track to the next bar.

    • @danieltomczak734

      @@danieltomczak734 I've sent them a few different things - bug reports and requests and they've been very responsive. At the moment I think they're mostly focused on fixes - although we did get flams and microsteps and a few other good things with 1.2. The major thing that needs fixing at the moment is song mode.

    Hello
    I have a problem with lxr 02
    I’m using Ableton’s program change to change the patterns of the LXR 02, I don’t understand why it only lets me change up to pattern number 8.
    As soon as you click 9 it returns to pattern number 1
    Help!

    Hi Richard, I'm finding these tutorials really helpful, thanks! I wonder if you can help - I'd like to be able to extend tracks (or even ideally whole patterns) and copy the pattern data as I do, something I've got used to on the Beatstep pro. Is there a way to do this? Cheers!

    • @RichardDeHove
      @RichardDeHove  3 года назад

      You can do an instant "copy and extend" which I think is what you mean. From voice mode select the track you want to extend; hold down the CPY/CLR button and hit the bar up button. Each time you hit the bar up button it'll copy the contents of the first bar to another bar. So if you hit it three times you'll extend that track to all 4 bars (64 steps) with the info from the first bar copied to each of the extra bars.

    • @c0untbakwerdz
      @c0untbakwerdz 3 года назад

      @@RichardDeHove Yes! This is it exactly - and it's very useful to be able to do it track by track. Thanks! Do you know of any way of doing it globally for the whole pattern?

    • @RichardDeHove
      @RichardDeHove  3 года назад

      @@c0untbakwerdz Not that I know of, but this would be useful. OTOH you can adjust the length of all tracks by a second click on shift+last step - but it doesn't copy the data.

    • @c0untbakwerdz
      @c0untbakwerdz 3 года назад

      All good - and yep, fingers crossed for an update at some point. Messing about tonight and realised it'd also be handy to see any parameter locked values on the operation mode pages when holding down the sequence buttons. Might make suggestions fwiw

    • @RichardDeHove
      @RichardDeHove  3 года назад

      @@c0untbakwerdz Yep, some more indicators would be good. My main one is to have a "half-lit" status on the patterns that already contain data (like the DB-01).
