I am thinking of getting a dingwall, contemplating if it is going to be a 4 or a 5 string, thank you in advance, keep up the good work! P.s i would love to listen more Meshuggah from your channel.
I don't think there's much difference in tone to be honest! There is a big difference in playing feel though since the 5 string has a wider neck to accomodate the 5th string. I prefer four string basses :)
Kinda. I have mine modded to have the neck and bridge pickups in parallel which the bass doesn't offer from the factory. And then there's your standard Darkglass pedal chain after my bass (modelled into my NAM captures)
@Clumplays IMO the D-Roc is the better model between the two. I never got along with the tones I got from my NG3-5. Modding the D-Roc to have the neck & bridge pickups in parallel will give you this 90% of this tone. The NG3 has its pickups in a bit different place and cannot achieve this.

i have the same setup f# on a 5 string droc and i still feel the string is floppy, and i got the dingwall string set, but it still sound good.
