Thank you! The Konami code was definitely one of my all time favorites. I'm hoping my players will catch on and get a chuckle when I get the opportunity to run this one. :)
I expect that my group will catch on towards the end. They just have to make it through the canned adventure (adventure path) that I'm using to stall and plan out a full campaign I've seen so many delightfully devious traps thanks to you, I'm going to have to give a public thank you each time they hit one, lol
I used this to test how my party would like puzzles for the first time. Worked out great! The Konami Code was a nice touch that one of my players caught.
I am glad things went great with introducing puzzles, so much fun to see the players discuss and work together. I am also a bit jealous... I haven't had the chance to run this one yet. lol. :) Thanx for the awesome comment!
The dwarf walks up to the bar for a drink, He raises a glass to his fellow soldiers "Don't let your heart sink, our battle was well-fought" "let us down our ale, for our fallen friends" "there are still enough of us left to finish our task" "we will claim victory for the Righteous and the worthy" "in the past, we would have left this alone" "but now, we must do what is right"
Heya, probably a bit late to the comments here, but I'm about to use this as my new player's first proper puzzle, hoping it goes well! I'm reflavoring it to be in an ancient Yuan-Ti temple, the gas coming from snake statue's mouths. Thought it fit.
It's never too late to comment on my videos, lol. But yes, I think the Yuan-Ti theme is a fantastic idea! Be sure to stop back by and let me know how it goes. Good luck!
Sorry for the delay! Took me quite a while to listen and remember what I used here... but, mission accomplished! The ambiance is from RUclips Library - Hydra by Huma-Huma Intro/Outro is Eviction by Silent Partner
No problem at all! I try to reply to every comment on my videos, both new and old. Thank you for hanging out on my RUclips channel. Hope to see ya again on other videos. :)
I just came across your channel and am making my way through your puzzle videos. I like this one and might use it in an upcoming game. ( think I might have the BBG run away towards the end of a fight with the PC's and stumble into this room and die. If the party wants the lot then they're going to have to figure out how to turn the gas off. And the Konagi code was a genius touch :D
Right after I posted my comment I started having some doubts. I'm wondering that by having the BBG die in the gas chamber it make the PC's less special. I don't know. I would make it clear that the BBG was running away from the PC's because he was beaten but the party wouldn't get in the killing blow. What do you think?
Hmmm... You could do this several ways... bear with me, this may get a bit crazy. The BBG either casts a spell or uses a magical item resembling a helmet/gas mask/bubble that he noticeable equips before running through the chamber. Maybe even stopping to taunt the PCs once inside the chamber. The BBG looks to have died and a pile of loot is visible. However, when they go up, solve the puzzle and come back, the BBG and the loot are gone. The BBG looks to have died and a pile of loot is visible. But, once they turn off the gas, they discover the BBG was a doppelganger or an imposter. The BBG does die... and when they come back, they see him resurrected as a powerful undead or transformed into something mutant like, from the gas. Just some thoughts off the top of my head....
Interesting. I'm not sure if that would work out so well because they have never met this BBG before. He's not technically the BBG, more of a lieutenant to the BBG. He is kind of a bad ass though with a couple of magic items so I think they'll chase him if he tries to bail. Thanks for the ideas though. I'm sorry for blowing up your inbox today with all my comments but I am stoked on this channel.
No worries at all! Glad you found my channel. I really appreciate all of the comments and discussion on the videos. I was hesitant to start my own channel in the beginning but really enjoy putting ideas out their and discussing with like-minded folk. Comment as much as you like! :)
Yay! I was excited too... But now, I'm all out of prerecorded content. It will be at least another week or two before I find time to jump in front of the camera again. :/
Thanx! This is one that I have been working on for a while. Have about 8 more I want to record, but it will be at least another couple of weeks before I get time to record again. :/
Konami code puzzle, brilliant!

Thank you for the great feedback... I really appreciate it. Be sure to stop back by and let me know how it worked out! :)
What if they find the saying above the valvues on teh wall?
I think that would be just fine too!
The Easter Egg will be terrific for when the group is traveling and a few “days” later they realize what happened
Haha! Yes... this is still one of the most devious puzzle "answers" in the book. Keep me updated. Cheers!

The Konami Code in puzzle form. I dig it. You could also use letters on the valves I assume to force em to spell a word out.
Ah, yes. The Konami code is one of my favorites. Glad I could finally include it somewhere. Spelling a word out is also a good idea! Thanx Clay!

Neat story... I know of about 2 or 3 other content creators that have used this puzzle on their livestream. Everyone loves the konami code!
