Guys, for that infamously stupid verse, I have some kind of explanation? It's Gabriel. "Sapphire gloves" made me think of Zepp's uniform, and it kinda makes sense. I mean, the "economic overthrow" was likely the revolution of Zepp after the first GG game, and his eyes literally and figuratively don't shine, with him being a monotone man rarely seen outside his office despite his position and the utter contrats to his rival's personality. Best explanation I could give ig, take it with much more than a grain of salt tho lol.
This is actually the best interpretation, i don’t know how i haven’t found one like yours yet, unless it’s somehow the only one. Makes a lot more sense than the nago guess.

I don't remember if I've commented this under one of your videos before, but I've mentioned elsewhere just how great Naoki's falsetto is and I don't think he gets enough credit for it. It's really cool to see him dipping his feet into that higher range he has for these newer songs. We've heard it somewhat over the years when he's harmonized with himself as far back as Xrd, but I'm obligated to gush over it taking more precedence in these new themes. Just when you think he's shown us everything he can do he surprises us yet again, and for a vocalist in his 40's that's d*mn impressive and dare I say, dandy af. Edit: For reference, I'm referring to the notes at 3:07 and also in Symphony when he sings "Turn the ᵏᵉʸ to a world untold", gives me goosebumps everytime.

"What he needs is an economic overthrow" May genuinely be one of Daisuke's hardest hitting lines in isolation and stands tall next to "Up to our knees are the shadows of their contra-spiracy" Like, he has a few in him he'll just unleash every now and then I feel people (perhaps, naturally) tend to associate these songs too closely to their associated characters when I don't get the impression that Daisuke writes them to *BE* explicitly about their character. He never, like, actually roots the written lyrics in any written lore about the character or even lore of Guilty Gear as a whole. There's only one actual instance of a song dropping an explicit "Guilty Gear" thing, and it's fucking GNN which was the CNN parody that GG-Sign-'s story has as a framing device. (It's Nagoriyuki's theme by the by) There's some debatable ones (Armor-Clad Faith) but that's the only song that specifically has framing in the Guilty Gear Universe. I find it to be better than, say, The XX albums- Especially the L.A. ones (cause I don't understand Japanese naturally) which just wanted to constantly assert that they *were* Guilty Gear. (Johnny, Johnny Johnny- And they'll call me Bridget~!!, etc) I give Daisuke a lot of passes regarding his English (and assume in a few cases there are typos in some instances of official materials, especially SIGN), but this one's definitely clunkier, though if you assume it to be a genius-level move it plays into Slayer's proclivities for nonsensical haiku so, y'know, he has an out this time.

It doesnt really fit Nago at all- the verse seems like it is about having luxury without feeling fulfilled It coumd easily be about Zato; though a young Gabriel is also possible, depending on what he was like. @@limelaminum2935 That's an interesting possibility tgat the first verse could be about Sol, especially since Slayer named him and all My personal interpretation has been that the first verse refers to the extinction of vampires that happened around the 90s and 00s- leaving Slayer only with the company of humans, and while he will never be the same as them, he finds joy in observing them and accepts them as the ones to whom the new world belongs

@themis-xis9265 It's exactly why "snapshot in time" is better. Because to Slayer, HIS happy ending is only but a small moment in his life. Followed by "Life is the journey, not the destination." Slayer already accepted the price of immortality. He focuses on enjoying the present (and those people now) rather than the inevitable future. Atleast that's my interpretation.
