Just the effect of owning your own track & facility as well as Motion/TBM ownership, including planning/preparing for events year round. I think pulling an engine is pretty low on the priority list of things to do. I believe he participated due the fact this is probably the baddest setup they'll ever have for a long while and wanted to get good footage and participate in the swap.
Or he is just having fun! Have you ever had a day you want to forget and just go hang with some friends and do something that just makes you go, woooo that feels good!!! That’s what I think he is doing!
Quite a leap from when Cleetus and James were picking truck motors out of the junk yard for Ruby. Big investment. Thanks for taking us along for a wild ride.
Now THIS is exciting. You've advanced from a "driver" to a LEGIT fucking racecar driver through being a regular guy on RUclips.. super awesome to watch from when Leroy was the only attraction on the channel until now is absolutely crazy. Keep grinding bro. I know illllll be watching every video you put out. And I know there's tons of people in the same boat.
@@pw383426 honestly as soon as he ditched the jet car idea and said he wanted to make mullet really fast I knew he'd end up here. I knew the powerglide wasn't gonna work. Mullet is too heavy and even built to the tits a powerglide just won't hang with that much power and weight at the same time. And I knew the ls had to go because let's face it. These guys don't have time to tear down an engine and inspect every single part to the finest detail after every outing. They have a fleet of badass cars not to mention the crown vics. A racetrack, events, traveling, a few businesses and a RUclips channel... I'm sure if they wanted to they could run a competitive ls program but instead they weighed the options and here we are.
I’m just jealous you can post a comment without getting some spam ass person commenting on it lmao, but I also agree with what you said so awesome to see what he’s done and excited to see what the future holds
the ol' cleet and jackstand time lapse brought a tear to my eye. I missed watching you two wrench on leroy and ruby, and it feels good to see you back wrenching. Can't wait to see mullets journey.
Yup, ever since they said the goal was 6's it was obvious that it needed a big block. It's great that it's finally happening, Mullet is really gonna rip now.
Kevin at KSR built Mullet to perfection and pushed that LS platform as far as he could. I love his build quality and attention to detail so there's no love lost for Kevin, but the LS has it's limits. Mullet is a beast and this new engine is gonna win them some races!
I've been a huge fan of Steve Morris since I was a kid, and a fan of Cleetus since he started. I'm absolutely pumped to see what them working together!
Cleet got everything he could out of that ol LS, she sure gave her all. It seems like yesterday Cleet forgot to put gear oil in his gear vendor overdrive as Mullet was making her long waited debut and now here we are pulling out all the stops finally introducing Mullet to that big block life. I feel like the LS would be looking up at Cleet saying “Was I a good LS” as it’s being wheeled away. You sure were little LS but now it’s the big boys turn.
I think I speak for everyone here… we’re as committed to your content as you are, you’ve built yourself a community, you’re a hell of a guy with a hell of a team
Cleetus you need to give yourself more credit for this Channel being so damn amazing. There is nothing else like it on RUclips. You are the type of person everyone gravitates to because of how wholesome you truly are. You deserve every damn thing you have. This takes hard work and not many people are motivated to that level. There will never be another Cleeter. You're certainly one of a kind. I love this channel as much as my dogs! If you ever read this, not need to reply. Just no that I meant every word. Inspiring to me bro. I built my first Jetstream Boat cause of you. I put a turbo in my Toyota Tundra cause of you, don't laugh, it bogs. lol.
Pretty impressive that you were able to get that beast of a SM 540 and twin turbskies in just over a year with parts being so hard to come by these days. It really shows your commitment to the channel and providing excellent content. For anyone else out there thinking this was easy or in anyway cheap, look up the prices, these guys are doing everything they can to make great content.
Hey if they can drop big money on some fake tank they can definitely spend it on Mullet's engine. That skid steer is just a gimmick, Mullet will be a legit badass now.
Are you thinking of the one Steve posted the video building ages ago? Cause this isn't that engine. This is the one they ordered a while back and only just got
No other group of guys I’d rather see winning in life. Y’all are awesome man. Nobody can deny y’all are reinvesting into the channel big time with everything y’all do. Keep gettin after it!
I have nothing but love for Texas Speed....however, when your trying to be a serious player on the drag strip you need an SM engine, proline, TKM, Musi Motor etc. Not to mention even these street outlaw guys are flying in personal tuners. Top them all off with a huge blower from procharger, or one of those indestructible precision turbos and your ready to roll. The obvious new kid on the block over the last year is that almost unbeatable procharged hemi combo that all the big dogs seem to be sporting. Very excited to see the sport continuing to progress. Drag racing purest won't like this statement, but I feel because of mainstream exposure through things like the Street Outlaws, and the RUclips platform Drag racing, automotive lifestyle, and powersports in general are at an all time best. I honestly feel this is the best time in history to be involved in the sport of drag racing. Be it as a local bracket racer or all the way up to those top fuel teams. Because of guys like Garret, PFI, Boosted boys, Street Racing Channel; The old man's garage, midwest Street cars automotive, sloppy mechanics, boosted lifestyle, MAK t.v and 187 customs people who might have never had the confidence to go pull a junkyard 500$ ls truck motor out, buy an Ebay whirly boy and build whatever it is they deem cool are getting involved and that's so awesome! We owe alot to these gentlemen who so graciously allow us into their personal lives, FOR FREE, and keep us entertained and give us a distraction from our everyday lives. When I was young we'd sit at a racers trailer in hopes of a glimpse, or if we were really lucky an autograph. This generation looks to these RUclips influences that same way. Only these guys are normal everyday people who typically had no Intentions of becoming famous. However, they put up with some of the creepiest and most outlandish behavior from some of these fans. People showing up at there homes uninvited. Or coming to their workplaces. I commend you gentleman for taking that stuff in stride. Thanks for the always exciting content gentlemen! You guys are quickly building yourself a respectable camp of rippers! (Especially with the addition of ol' Sam, Dr. Tunemall, LS George and not to mention all the unseen people that keep the machine running) Your guys' team dynamic compliments itself perfectly. I remember when it was just Garrett and Coop and James was added. I was concerned at first how he'd fit in. Now I feel like without James ol cleeturs racing program would not be as solid as it is. I'm not bashing Garret at all I'm just saying James brought things to a while new level with his vast knowledge, work ethic and humble attitude. It could be very easy for someone in James' position to get big headed and forgot what got him here. But, he seems as down to earth as ever. I wish nothing but the best for you gentlemen and pray for many continued blessings. In racing, and especially in life. Last thing....garret....when we gonna see some Lil cleeturs running around?
Absolutely agree. Trying to go 6’s with TSP isn’t the best idea. Look at TKM going incredibly fast with ls, sbf, anything. They don’t play. Realistically an Ls platform should be perfectly fine at 2000hp for a pretty decent amount of time. I mean the 1/8th mile record for hydraulic roller is still 4.12 et and that an easy 6 with a gear change. The fact is that mullet is incredibly heavy by almost 1000lbs. I love the fact that Ole Cleet isn’t trying to put it on TSP but there are absolutely better parts and companies. TSP just doesn’t need to be in the realm of the cars that he’s trying to be with.
@matthewmcmillan cleetus already put the viewers in check when I guess people were commenting about them always breaking. He said it's not on the companies or builders. Cleetus seems to be a very stand up guy. His sponsors give him a lot of support, but he also gives them priceless advertising. Its crazy that nowadays 1000-1500 hp is the norm for a "street car" when i first got into drag racing the 1000hp mark was king shit. Now, all these late model muscle cars you buy off a showroom floor with 700+ hp, and with a little octane tweeking( ethanol and methanol tunes) and possibly changing up some pulleys or unlocking the ability to further tune a platform and you have a 1000hp daily driver. People don't realize how much demand these cars are under. Unfortunately, because of people like the McFarland team, people just think that running 8s is the norm. The only true purpose built car that was properly built for the strip is mullet. Even then that cars gotta weigh damn near 3000lbs and they are running it repeatedly in the scorching Florida heat at these track rentals as well as the heat and pressure built up from whinding a hot rod a quarter of a mile from 0 to 170+ in sub 8 seconds. Even with the ability to be able to seemingly have control of every aspect of the car with these incredibly complex tuning platforms sometimes shit just happens. Injectors hang open, gaskets blow, charge pipes get disconnected or cracked or God forbid a wastegate doesn't do its job. There's so much fuel and air when your on that level that the tiniest interruption of that can be catastrophic.
Well said, i remember when James was fresh on this channel and pretty camera shy/shock. Then they put the in car camera for him during rmrw a few years back and he slowly started to open up. Now he’s a gosh darn natural 😂😂 The dynamic of everyone from Cleetus to jackstand and now George, Ty, Zach and Sam. This channel just flat out rules
I was thinking today... I just graduated High school, and I've been with you on your journey for my entirety of High school. thanks for the ride, and for many years to come. HELL YEAH BROTHER
Honestly wouldn't mind more vids of time-lapse of you guys doing stuff like this, I'm sure there is plenty of ppl who would enjoy the in-between stuff that you don't often show
This was long over due, the chassis work done on mullet was made for this type of power!! I’m so excited to see a low 7 high 6 second pass on its first outing!! Hell yeah brother!!!
Love Texas speed engines. But I’m so glad you went with a Steve Morris setup with mullet. We want to see a 6 second 200+ mph average on a race week someday
This engine performed flawlessly and did amazing things above and beyond what it was built for. Now he has the MAX and I can't wait to see the Mullet doing what it does.
It’s crazy that the first time I watched this channel was 5+ years ago while bored in a class while I was in college because I thought “who doesn’t want to see what 12 exhaust whistles in a corvette exhaust would sound like”. And now the channel has made it this far. Awesome content Since day one when I started watching👍🏻
I'm nerding out so hard right now over that SME big block.. Steve Morris the baddest engine builder on the planet just killing it with the cleanest setup you can possibly make an engine be
Can't wait to see Ruby up and going as well as Leroy. Those two together when running as well now mullet, y'all are gonna have a great lineup. Love what y'all have turned this channel into and progressing forward with. Great job guy's!!
Damn Cleetus just stepped up his game big time. This is the engine mullet was built for. This thing is definitely going to be a consistent 6 second ripper. Awesome job guys.
I am so hyped for this, we can't wait to see the outcome. Mullet will run 6's with ease now and you won't have to bend rods every pass! I'm also pretty hyped to see Mullets old motor in Ruby
@@feelingold2995 If he wants to run 5,s He needs a crap ton of Mods to Mullet, big tubs, better suspension, lighter bodywork, carbon panels, everything needs to change for 5,s, ow also needs about 2000 more horsepower to boot
Nothing brings me more joy watching this channel than cleetus working on ol mullet with jack stand and the rest of the crew you are an inspiration my good sir!!
I'd suggest have Tye (sp?) add so sacrificial sled bars on the bottom of the frame to protect the pan and anything else that is down low. Can't wait to see the dyno pulls ant track pulls! ❤
I had a feeling that when Steve was teaching you how to set the lash on SickSeconds this may have been in your future. Stoked to see it come to fruition, here’s to consistent 6’s 🍻
I remember when they introduced James to the channel and i was apprehensive. Now, I don't think that racing program would be even half as good as it is now without James. Ol Cleet is a smart fella. He has strategically built an amazing team of complimentary individuals. He brought Dr. TUNEMALL on board to be his tuner, then the huge addition of good ol Sam and he's the cosmetic guy, top notch fab guys, James who wears many hats....master mechanic, experienced driver which gives them the ability to compete and make their mark in multiple classes, his boy Alec who busts his ass doing some of the less sexy stuff off camera that has to get done to keep the wheels in motion, LS George and his addition to the team was top notch and truly helped the channel step up another notch by furtherly injecting the non stop comedy and unintentionally added a super fun New piece of continous content with the blazer stuff. Not to mention Maddy TCB fulfilling all the logistical obligations. He'll, even their dude who transports for them is super solid.( Gentry & Sons) In my opinion it speaks volumes about Garret as a man, a boss and a creator. Its prettt much impossible to keep your employees productive, Happy and not complacent especially when your employees are your friends. Ive never once saw cleet so much give any of them a sideways look.Very rarely do you see a team like the McFarland crew were everyone always seems to be in good spirits but still working their asses off to keep up with the constant demand placed on them to do their specific task that they were brought on for in order to ensure everything runs at it'd greatest efficiency. People either get complacent, and refuse to produce the way they did when they were convincing you to hire them. People start to get resentful when they see how the fruits of their hard labor maybe benefitting the owners bank account a little more than theirs when the reason for that success was solely bc of their work and start thinking the grass is greenery and once that cancer starts to infest one worker at first that persons unpleasant attitude will start to slowly affect the whole team one by one then you have a civil war going on within the company and people taking sides and makes.coming to work dreadful until finally one day there's thr inevitable blow up. With this team the only person who had ever really departed was Coop and we see that they stayed on good terms and Coop had an opportunity and garret was super supportive for him to go have his own success after what he helped Garrett start. The same exact way Kyle, the founder of 1320, supportivelt et Garret start his own thinga after seeing how much everyone loved him after that viral video he did in front of Tom Baileys car when he introduced the world to the Cleetus McFarland charecter for the first time. Which we now know essentially birthed the automotive youtube space paving the way for people like ITSJUSTa6, PFI speed, Boosted boys, Adam LZ, vice grip garage, Street Racing Channel, boosted lifestyle ,young and boosted ,LS nasty. Garret has humbly helped start more than a few people or channels get recognition which in turn changed there lives forever. To often we see these RUclips channel teams putting out a 30 minute tell all video about why mommy and daddy broke up and that's why all of the sudden the person we are used to seeing is now ghosted. Garrets team continues to grow and attract more people. It's nice to see that a person who appears to be a genuinely good dude receive all of the things he deserves. Not to mention he is very smart. Often you see youtubers start to achieve a small bit of financial success and they start living a lifestyle like the money's always going to be there and don't realize it could all be gone in a minute. GARRET seems to reinvest his profits into things that will also continue bringing money in. Invested in the vics and look how many ppvs he's sold and events he's been able to throw. Invests in a purpose built racecar I'm mullet to increase viewership. Bought a home and shop instead of throwing money away by renting. Resurrected the Freedom Factory which will hopefully bring in money from events for Yeats to come also it gives him thr ability to not have to pay a track for his Cleetus n cars events in Florida. Not to mention he has that market cornered down there with the FF with all those Florida men needing something to do for entertainment lol. He has essentially paved the way for a whole community of gearheads and showed us endless ways we can still work in the automotive space and be happy and have fun rather than just going out and being a mechanic punching a clock working on soccer moms broke down vans at a dealership rather than getting to work on the cool stuff that grabbed our interest when we were just little boys. Cleetus and team....keep kicking ass and I hope you guys are enjoying the things you get to do as much as we love watching it. Never forget that some people derive their only happiness that day during the 20 or so minutes they are watching your guys' videos.
FINALLY! No love lost for the LS, Texas Speed or all the work Kevin from KSR put in to get Mullet to where he is today, but THIS is what Mullet truly deserves. A Steve Morris 540 big block is exactly what Mullet was destined to have as the heart and soul of this magnificent beast of a car. Cleet….PLEASE take your time and make sure Mullet is 1000% prepared for this engine. That much power is not to be taken lightly. Frame adjustments, tires, whatever needs to be adjusted…just go 1000% the right way the 1st time. Nobody wants to see you get hurt. We know you’re not dumb, just please don’t take any chances. There’s no “oops, we’ll just fix this next time” with power like that. Not trying to harp, we all love you Cleet and want you to succeed while also staying safe. Good luck brother!
Now the tweaking starts. Tires, rear end, driveshaft, and maybe reposition the engine (for axle weights) to get all that power to the road. I'm pumped. LET'S GO!
Dude! So happy for you. This is next level. Just my two cents. You do testing at Bradenton with crazy amount of prep. Then struggle at the other tracks. I think you should do no prep testing and get that tune to have in your back pocket for when the tracks is gone. Love ya brother.
There is no 'X' on the valve covers, so this is the budget friendly Cheverolet version of the fully water jacketed SMX, with a 2500-3500hp range. Still a very significant upgrade and better matched for the intended six second passes. Cleetus may want another couple of seasons before asking for an 'SMX'?
SMX is a whole nother level. That would be for bottom 6s and into the 5s. That would be some damn serious racing. They have plenty to play with on this engine. Lots of 6s to be had.
Terry Dunnett....Yep, the "X" has the unique Steve Morris block and heads plus other SM design goodies. This is a very solid and powerful BBC that was assembled by Morris.
I’d wager this is the leap into the big boy class. A lot to test now and sort out, making traction, running straight and consistently with this power band. It may need to go big tyre now (not hard in an Elco) so a lot of work to go. Once that’s all done though….SMX is the next step 😂
That goofy smile when posing with the big block is one of the best things I've ever seen. Made me smile ear to ear. You deserve it cleet, keep being you and never stop!
I was just watching some of Steve's videos, these engines are mind blowing pieces of precision engineering. Way to step it up! Can't wait to see and hear what this engine can do.
Wow- that's a serious upgrade for Mullet! Can not wait to hear the thunder! She'll be deep in the 6's for sure! This channel just keeps getting better and better...
BEST MOVE EVER!!! Even before you said it a few weeks ago after an engine issue, I was saying out-loud that I think it needs a big block to really move forward with keeping it drag & drive capable while making it a 6 second car (truck lol?) Repeatedly and predictably. We all LOVE how you took that LS platform to its potential! Of course people will always say garbage like you didn't use a billet LS block, or why didn't you use such and such heads etc, but to all your fans and people who understand the level of competition you're in, it just makes no sense at all to keep pushing the same platform at 100% of its capability every time you're at an event or testing... while going with the tried and true big dog Steve Morris 540 you can make that same 2,000ish horsepower while only using like 60% of its potential! If it makes almost 900hp NA, then it's going to make almost 1,800hp at only 14.7(ish) pounds of boost!! You're possibilities are now endless with how fast Mullet can go! And now partnering with Steve Morris for all this makes it all that much better!! This is so awesome!!!!! HELL YA BROTHER!!!!!!
Wow……I’ve watched from exhaust whistles to a $60000 dollar engine (I’m guessing the price) but what an amazing ride it’s been!!!! And Cleeter is the same dude now as then, and that’s why I’ll watch for years to come!!!
@@jeffgeldhof5360 it's not an smx. The block says brodix lol. The smx is a fully custom engine designed by Steve Morris. This is a production 540 with custom parts specced and assembled by Steve, but it isn't an SMX.
Mad props to Kevin @KSR for pouring his blood sweat and tears into the original build. He definitely build a badass unit. Can't wait to see what this one does! 💪
Seems like your brother is able to spend more time around your shop and you guys. Glad to see it. I used to travel 5.5 hours to visit with my brother and would have so much fun I would stay weeks at a time. Miss ya Gunther !!
Garrett you are living the dream for about 3 million of us out here. I know you know that, and your humility about the whole thing speaks volumes about the man you are. I remember well the first day James came on board, and to see you two fitting an SM BBC into Mullet today is just mind blowing. Seeing the perma-grin on your face is putting one on my face to. Can't wait to see how this goes.
Leroy deserves the best of the best, and he needs all the help he can get to chase down some of the stick cars out there now! Glad to the big block for the elco👍👍
My day genuinely takes such a positive turn when I see a Cleetus video and hear that time lapse music start. Helps me deal with everything which is odd to say but it does. We thank you for your service @Cleetus McFarland
I’m so excited for where you guys are headed this year.. Rocky, Mullet & Leroy all back, badder then ever!!! I hope jackstand gets his Nova and Lt.Dan dialled too. Awesome content as always! And Thankyou for not changing the time lapse music🙌🏻
The fuel bill on Midwest and rocky mtn race week will almost be as much as that engine itself. Can't wait to see the startup idea and then the shake down runs. I bet the first run with this engine will be in the 7.50 range letting out at the 330. Lol can't wait guys get busy!
Never stop working on the cars with the boys cleet, it's great to see you out here Still turning wrenches cuz at the end of the day that's what it's all about, keep up the great work brother
I have been following the boys since JUST before they bought Leroy. What a ride it has been. So much fun! I have no access to actual drag racing living in the Philippines. Even in South Africa where I spent most of my life it was limited but still good. Following these boys fills in the missing gaps. I do not miss a video, like ever!
Wow you surprised me Garrett I didn't think you would get an engine this badass for at least another couple years hell yeah brother you are definitely doing it for Dale now!!!
I was expecting Cleet to jump straight into the deep end with a SMX. This is probably a wiser choice. This much power is likely to introduce new problems elsewhere in the car. Traction was already an issue. We're also going to see how well the chassis handles the additional power. Exciting times.
This is not a full SMX. This is based on a Brodix block and typical aluminum heads with SME work done. Still a fantastic motor, but the SMX is full billet and can make upwards of almost 5k hp. Huge difference in cost.
@@Innovaspeed That's what I said. I said I was expecting him to go SMX but this is probably a wiser choice. I expect he's already going to have chassis problems with just the BBC. Hopefully he addresses these issues or he'll have a wall magnet.
@@RYTHMICRIOT yes with this much power I’d want a double frame rail. I don’t remember what chassis he had build on but I believe it’s a 25.3 which is good until 6.50s. He could run mid 6s consistently np with this setup. Wouldn’t have to kill it from the hit but would have enough power to ramp it in just after the 60ft to make it easier on parts.
Love that hes pushing out content for us almost every day, you can tell cleetus is so excited about this big block he had a smile on his face the whole time
5's are a universe away from 6's which is where Garrett will be for a while. A lot to learn, and a bunch more stuff to change (like going to big tires). It'll happen but enjoy the ride; it took Tom Bailey a long time to get there and he just barely tapped into the 5's recently.
Glad to see you finally go with a SM engine , bet you don’t have a single problem going 6s all week during race week on that motor. Any customer that’s ever wanted to go fast Steve is who we recommend.
Excited to see what Mullet can do with more displacement and bigger snails. I'm sure you guys are even more excited to get her running, but please guys, for the love of all that's holy, take your time and do everything right the first go around, so you don't wind up making a bunch of needless mistakes. I know that makes for good videos, but we want this thing to rip AND be as reliable as a monster drag car can be.
As a engine guy and tuner, nothing frustrates you more than seeing some one flog a engine to death trying to squeeze more power than the engine can mechanically handle. Best thing that happened here in Australia was to stop trying to race our home grown Holden 5 Ltr v8, The rpm and hp required to be competitive in our v8 race cars was just far more than the block design could handle with out cracking around the mani journals . They then switch to 307 chev race blocks, with the appropriate rule changes. I was involved in one race teams engine shops and the frustration was real. Days of hard work, we would watched waste away on a engine dyno. Every one was happy once the Chevy blocks arrived , I mean we had been squeezing far more power out of these block for speedway engines for years , so we knew what was possible. So congrats on the steve Morris deal Garret and team . But there are still questions around chassis and traction, I mean just look at Sick seconds cars and the rear tyre wheel combo, This is what is required to put all that power to the ground . And your already struggling to put the power down, to go faster , your going to need to launch harder , get that power down sooner And traction is the issue, so I now watch in interest, the engine and gearbox is there! the diff? How is that going to handle the power Once the traction is sorted, will the diff or axles no be the next week link? Watching your videos it’s very clear your times are going to be traction limited …….. are we eventually going to see a much larger wheel and tyre combo ? More chassis work, more fab work to mullet? Or does the frustration watching Garret struggle with traction continue? Unloading and then the sudden loading of the drive line is bad for the engine and driveline. It causes shit to Break. Congrats on the new engine Cleetus and team. Is a major leap forward ….. Oh and I really hope you do something special with the Holden commodore Ute. It deserves more than to be just a burn out car , or half ass drag car.
Isn't it crazy how much more it costs to go that extra et. And mile an hour once your already at 195+.. easy from 10s to 8s after that it's alot more than most people understand unless you've been in the chase for that number
195mph to 200mph probably takes another 150-200hp... From 200mph to 205mph is another 225hp im sure. Exponentially way more power needed for such small mph gains.
Same thing in my boat started off with 465 hp 502’s doing around 80 mph now I’m running 540’s pushing close to 600hp and only gained 12 mph 😂 money well spent
@@bleaman33 I don't think he bought the all billet smx deal just a brodix aluminum block 540 with good ass internals still a stout price alot of npk guys including murder Nova have used this engine platform with good power results so I know it'll make good power regardless of the block material he just has less cushion than of it was the complete billet piece but also probably saved 50k that way all said and done
@@freedomfox8183 SMX is a unique design from Morris. The block and heads (plus other goodies) are Steve's design. This is a very powerful BBC built and tweaked by SM.

Keep grinding bro. I know illllll be watching every video you put out. And I know there's tons of people in the same boat.
I always wondered if Cleet would dabble in Big Blocks. Now its serious business
Aye, we spell our name the same way
I’m just jealous you can post a comment without getting some spam ass person commenting on it lmao, but I also agree with what you said so awesome to see what he’s done and excited to see what the future holds

the ol' cleet and jackstand time lapse brought a tear to my eye. I missed watching you two wrench on leroy and ruby, and it feels good to see you back wrenching. Can't wait to see mullets journey.
and 5 months later, This engine wins World Cup! love your content! Hell Yea Brother!
This is the engine that Mullet has deserved since cancelling the jet. Glad to see it happen!
Yup, ever since they said the goal was 6's it was obvious that it needed a big block. It's great that it's finally happening, Mullet is really gonna rip now.
But how much cooler would it have been for cleetus to have his own jet car at his events. Leroy would be a monster by now.
Mullet *deserves* an SMX, but this is a great start in the right direction.

Mullet needs a new LS SM!!! IJS
The best part of this channel is seeing how excited the guys get over every upgrade or mod. It really is the secret sauce.
Passion is infectious!

Reminds me of when I got a 5HP Techumseh for my mini bike.
I think anyone whose ever looked at building or modding and engine is a fan of SM.
Oh man! Not only do we get to see this new SME motor, we get new turbos AND we get an old school time lapse with James and Cleeter! Lets goooooo!
And hopefully it wakes up the inner BITCH in Ruby and we dominate drag and drive.. Hell yeah brother.
You should see the LS Steve Morris is building/in Development right now. Unlike any other LS out there. Big hp!!!
Listen.. I laugh nonstop at loud cars that do nothing lol. The ones that barely go 30 mph and are making an incredible loud noise. Hahahaha!!
She was a great little LS
It's still a good motor! But we thank her for her service
I think I speak for everyone here… we’re as committed to your content as you are, you’ve built yourself a community, you’re a hell of a guy with a hell of a team
Watching cleetus and jack stand work on a car together with a time-lapse with that music gave me the old school Leroy vibes

This is why Cleetus is so successful! Always progressing and never being stagnant like a lot of channels.

How much is the new setup? Just the engine and turbos
Also helps that they’ve got direct lines of contact with everyone in the business. They likely had this engine on order after they blew the 2nd engine

Great comment brother, I appreciate your thoughts. Have a good one my man.

None of that worked. So just dump more money and power on it...yea it's gonna blow up. First time out.

Ya I can already see a lot of wheel spins and burnouts down the track in the for see future 👀
Brother, I am proud of you! Who knew an alter ego all those years ago, would lead to this.... Truly inspiring and truly wonderful.
They gonna go with an SML at some point

I'd love to see a vid of him and Tye getting the new motor and turbskis fabbed in.
I was expecting Cleet to jump straight into the deep end with a SMX. This is probably a wiser choice. This much power is likely to introduce new problems elsewhere in the car. Traction was already an issue. We're also going to see how well the chassis handles the additional power. Exciting times.
I thought on the same thing, would the body and parts hold those 3000 hp? or we will start to see how axles bends
@@alonsohasbani7894 Going to be interesting to see if the car goes down the track straight.

He could run mid 6s consistently np with this setup. Wouldn’t have to kill it from the hit but would have enough power to ramp it in just after the 60ft to make it easier on parts.
Love that hes pushing out content for us almost every day, you can tell cleetus is so excited about this big block he had a smile on his face the whole time
I love how yall have grown over the years. Not just with the channel, but in business!! 💪🏿
Heck yeah cleeter well deserved now I can’t wait to see what Kyle does with his big tire civic
Rip a super fat vape after it breaks another part
@@Garf2O does Kyle from boosted boys vape? 😂
Steve Morris is the masterclass engine builder! Congrats cleet 5's are on the horizon!
Might want to temper your expectations, 5's are still very far away lol.
@@bobbygetsbanned6049 hence the "on the horizon"
Will need the smx motor for 5's
Steve Morris is very good but pro line would be the masterclass
5's are a universe away from 6's which is where Garrett will be for a while. A lot to learn, and a bunch more stuff to change (like going to big tires). It'll happen but enjoy the ride; it took Tom Bailey a long time to get there and he just barely tapped into the 5's recently.
7:40 I’ll tell you what it’s great to see the tall guy working with Jimmy on the cars again just like the old days 😊
Badass Engine!
It’s moves like this that keep your channel growing.
Y’all are killing it across the board.
Well, life goal there, getting a turbo that has “team lift” on the box that it comes in 😂😂
Man those turbos are MASSIVE. Them some bitches look like semi turbos 😂
Ole cleeter almost seems speechless about this and can't blame him. Things just got next level x1000
Glad to see you finally go with a SM engine , bet you don’t have a single problem going 6s all week during race week on that motor. Any customer that’s ever wanted to go fast Steve is who we recommend.
That’s going to be one heal of a car with that new motor can’t wait to see mullet going down the drag strip
The tires couldn't handle 1400hp. So who gives a shit.
Hell yea brothers!!!!!!! Love the month of freedom
Nice. Siblings handing over parts. Never thought that Leroy would be getting hand me ups from younger bro Mullet. Cannot wait to see them tear it up!
Those turbos have more displacement than my whole ass engine. Hell yea brother 😎.
As a engine guy and tuner, nothing frustrates you more than seeing some one flog a engine to death trying to squeeze more power than the engine can mechanically handle. Best thing that happened here in Australia was to stop trying to race our home grown Holden 5 Ltr v8,
The rpm and hp required to be competitive in our v8 race cars was just far more than the block design could handle with out cracking around the mani journals .
But there are still questions around chassis and traction, I mean just look at Sick seconds cars and the rear tyre wheel combo,
This is what is required to put all that power to the ground .
And your already struggling to put the power down, to go faster , your going to need to launch harder , get that power down sooner
And traction is the issue, so I now watch in interest, the engine and gearbox is there! the diff? How is that going to handle the power
Once the traction is sorted, will the diff or axles no be the next week link?
Last time I checked these motors were around $80k
This channel just keeps getting better & better! Came here during the Leroy-era and this is probably the only channel where dropping big $ regularly is done with such a humble attitude. Love it!
Living the dream 🇺🇸!
holy shnykies brother. Doin it for Dale just went up a level!
Finally, more reliable runs, no more non stop breaking after every single event. Felt like your channel was always fixing shit on your LS motors.
I'm so happy for you and the crew. You guys have brought smiles and laughter to _millions_ of people, especially during these tough times. You guys deserve this, and a whole lot more! Can't wait to see y'all out there ripping Mullet 2.0 and having a blast! :D
👆👆Congratulation you have been selected among my shortlisted winner’s🤩🤩🎊🎉🤩🤩🥰🥰💯💯💯💯💯!!!
Is that someone trying to scam us
Don’t let this distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three Honda civics with spoon engines, and on top of that, he just went into Harry’s and bought three t66 turbos with nos, and a motec exhaust system.
Classic
Perfect for today's episode
