For a second I thought: isn't that Schubert himself at the piano? The trademark sideburns can't be a coincidence. Actually, Schubert would frequently accompany the singers of his lieder at the Schubertiaden.
And again it is proved: No instrument transcends the expressiveness of the human voice. Though it is a male singer, and emotionality is kind of restrained, still, the the living voice , the intonation that only voice can carry, make for charm of this beautiful Schubert piece.
