    When you pay rent to a land its because the land doesnt belong to you. Malaysia pays rent to sultanate of Sulu since 1898. Therefore Sabah doesnt belong to Malaysia. Its that simple.

    Just to get this corrected. The original deal in 1878 - The Sulu sultan leases Sabah to the British North Borneo Co., represented by Englishman Alfred Dent and German Gustavus Baron de Overbeck in a deed of pajak (“lease”) in which the company would pay 5,300 Mexican gold pieces a year to the Kingdom of Sulu. Instead it was converted to ringgit. This is one of the reasons why the rent ballooned to 14.9 billion dollars in todays money. I hope this helps you all see the truth.

    • @Mozely374
      @Mozely374 2 года назад +92

      5,300 spanish silver dollar coins to be exact. The spanish dollar is the base of creation of today US dollar. The real payment must be taking into account for the estimated US dollars value during 1963. But that is not a case. What is important is for the Malaysia government to explain the concrete reason the Sabah already a part of Malaysia and supported by the Sabahans free expression for their integration with Malaya to create Malaysia under the United Nation resolution 1541 where the people were aware of their change of status as founder of Malaysia, the continuance of the payment is the mistake of the former government. we need to clarify to Philippine and 193 countries around the world that Sulu heir has no sovereignty basis in the Republic of Philippine to actually claim for the cession payment. If they really need the money as an legitimate Sulu heir, they must request it from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 2 that was responsible for this cession payment. This matter should be resolved once and for all otherwise Sabah would be at the stake of Philippine claims and the invasion shall happen at anytime. Just learn from what had happen in Ukraine

That's also the reason why Mindanao(part of Philippines near Sabah) is plagued with terrorists from Malaysia coz they want to destabilize the region to weaken Philippines' claim to Sabah. Just accept the arbitration ruling that Sabah is actually a Philippine territory. Documents are still within the possession of the Sultanate of Sulu that Sabah is theirs and it was just being rented by Malaysia. It was Malaysia's greedy government's fault that they proclaimed Sabah as one of their States even though they know that they are just renting it from the Sultanate of Sulu of the Philippines.

He brainwashed the Malays with ketuanan Melayu and discriminate the non Malays. In order to gain the support of the Malays, he implemented “Dasar Ekonomi Baru” the new economic reform where Malays are given special rights in every sectors right from businesses to education which leads to the deterioration of the education and jurisdiction systems, the enforcement of 30% Malay shares in all businesses that were built by the non Malays, the deterioration of the government services due to the tidak apa attitudes, his bad mouth speaks whatever that he likes to cause tension and hatred among the races, absolute power were given to religious leaders to oppress and create religious sensitivity among the people, corruption among government ministers in daylight including himself. He used nationalism to make the Malays think that they have all the rights to do whatever that they like without having to abide to the rules of laws that’s why his successor Najib became popular globally, this is one of the rotten fruits from the tree planted by Mahathir and countless numbers of corruption by ministers and government officials are normal in Malaysia before they are given special rights to do so. The new Philippine government sought to distance itself Tuesday from a controversy between next-door neighbor Malaysia and heirs of a sultanate who are trying to seize international assets of Kuala Lumpur’s state-owned oil company, in a land dispute going back to the 1800s.
      The claim by the descendants of the Sultan of Sulu “is in the nature of a private claim” between two private parties and does not involve the government, a spokeswoman for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said, referring to the heirs and Malaysia.
      “Therefore, it is not an issue of sovereignty or of territory at the moment,” Trixie Cruz-Angeles told reporters at a news briefing.
      She was responding to recent reports from Malaysia that quoted members of the sultanate as saying they hoped that President Marcos would help them recover Sabah, which is part of Malaysian Borneo and is close to the Sulu Archipelago in the far-southern Philippines.

  • @motherliberty

    The sultanate of sulu is not a self proclaimed heir. The Royal Sultanate of Sulu has legal and historic rights over north borneo. A foreign company in itself has no rights to handover a sovereign land to another soveriegn power with the fact that it is only given the privilegde to least the land. In any legal matter if there is mistranslation or misinterpretation to a contract then the original intended meaning of a word should be followed in this case it meant "lease" not surrender.
    The creation of the Philippine Constitution recognizes all current territorial and historic soveriegn claims of its subjects which includes the ownership of the Royal Sultanate of Sulu of North Borneo.
    The Government of the Philippines acknowledges the claims of the sultanate and that is clear.
    Sabah is ours. For all the Filipinos that was displaced due to Malaysia's annexation of Sabah is illegal though it was made through a referendum they have failed to engage and involve the Filipino public to cast their votes on that very day.

    Philippines has a legitimate claim on Sabah. We even protest joining of Sabah in Malaysia in the time of Pres. Macapagal in 1962. After that Pres. Marcos try to take Sabah by force fails which causes Jabidah Massacre. Malaysia takes this opportunity and supported rebels and terrorism in the Southern Philippines. Sabah belongs to Sultanate of Sulu, Philippines...only Brunei, Spain and United Kingdom can help resolve this issue., it was the colonizers before the early times when Spain made a deal with Great Britain before. On 1658 the Sultan of Brunei had given Sabah to the Sultan of Sulu with the Tallano Clan for helping a victory over enemies of Sultanate of Brunei.

    Don’t every use sovereignty if you’re the legal owner of the area. Sabah was given to the Sultanate of Sulu. If the People there don’t want to be part of it. They can leave freely. Because that area can be considered as private
