At 6:54 You can copy chain 20 from row 0 and paste to row 1 then hilight the cloned phrase on 1 and hold shift opt then edit. This will update your phase # while keeping the data from the original copy. Thanks for your vid, great tip!
micro timing would be so lovely to have on the m8. there's other workarounds that involves tables but I was always too lazy to set it up. btw you can clone phrases and chains in various ways. it takes what's inside it and assigns a new number. a timesaver for variations.
@@dmks2146 definitely! Good tip on the cloning shortcut too, thanks! I found out that its activated from the chain page by highlighting the phrase, then holding down shift, then pressing option, then while still holding down shift, pressing edit. Such a timesaver, thanks again!
@@ukbloke28 yeah it doesnt have microtiming settings, so either you work on the grid or you employ workarounds like this. The portability is hard to beat, but it can be a bit quirky depending on what genre of music you make
@@minimal3734 i find it easier to slide into my pocket without the caps. I've been meaning to shop around for some low profile ones tho, it does feel a little strange without em lol

I’m really interested in M8 as a portable option to add to my digitakt setup but gosh this seems like a lot of work to do something relatively basic?

@@lebronsinclair8012 it's called casualdj - it's one of themes that comes with the m8
