  • Check out Alex's channel here- / @alexshailer
    This video is all about the Shadow motivations that inform personal development efforts and spiritual development efforts.
    Alex Shailer and I speak about how to dissolved these out of alignment motivations and flow downstream toward values like altruism, justice, and contribution to society.
    And with this we also learn to flow downstream toward what our positive motivation is instead of running away from what scares us. When we become more conscious through engaging in meditation and other forms of consciousness work and stop being motivated by negative motivation we can actually flow more in the direction of joy and fulfillment.
    I hope you enjoy the collaboration!
    Be sure to check out Alex's work!

    I've been an intermittent viewer of your channel in the past, but the more I've developed my values and tried to live a life by them, the more grateful I am for your work. Having watched hundreds of other channels I believe you create these videos because of your genuine interest in the subject and your compassion for others. You always touch on the core issues that matter without the fanfare and the money making adverts. I want to thank you for your authenticity and efforts. They have a massive impact on my life. 💚💚💚

    Listening to these videos temporarily puts my mind into a state of insight I wish I could sustain on my own. Things making sense feels so natural, but actually being lost is the normal state.

    Thank you very much for having this conversation and letting us share in this space. There is a huge difference between doing things to prove our worth versus doing things because we feel full in ourselves and just feel very grateful and so wanting to share our gifts.

    Loved this conversation! What Alex said about the belief that we have to be torturing ourselves in order to grow really resonated with the work I’m currently doing. I think many of us have this false idea that we should be suffering in order to be strong, it’s definitely a topic to meditate upon.

    Can you please elaborate more on how you shifted from the primitive and “me” centeredness? 💙 For me, I have a hard time setting goals coming from value-based motivations. I get “lazy” or enabling because I just forgive myself when I don’t achieve my goals lol I want to be able to still achieve results while not attaching them to my inherent worth

    Enjoyed that! What's your thoughts on the likes of David Goggins and Jocko Willink who push this 'grinding' lifestyle/motivation?

    • @TheDiamondNet
      @TheDiamondNet  4 года назад +3

      I’m not familiar with them. But to be clear, hard work is necessary for successful. But if it feels more like a grind than a flow, for an extended period of time, then it may be a signal that a part of you is subconsciously fighting and resisting against your conscious goals.
      So, this requires some self-reflection. That way you figure out why the friction is there.
      Does the friction come from disintegrated parts of the self making it more difficult to pursue those goals (because of a variety of reasons and unconscious motives)... but the path is actually right for you?
      Or does the resistance come from the Self trying to steer you in a genuinely better direction that’s more suited to you?

      I do that when I talk to people as a habit. But you're right. I should watch that, as it's a bit of a tick of mine.

      @@TheDiamondNet I wouldn't really care about that. If you are low on energy, any kind of "tic" or "habit" might surface. Just keep sleeping well and watching your energy/wellbeing! Maybe you were simply that charmed. I personally believe it's ok to show weakness in certain situations.
