    Tanks are the best thing to happen to high rev bowlers since sliced bread. Admittedly I didn't love the Desert much, but I think that was just due to the core being so tiny that it barely did anything much differently than a Purple. These stronger Tanks with the Gear cores (Blitz, Blue, and Carbide) differentiate themselves much better from typical urethane, and really do nail that sweet spot of control and continuation that high rev players need.
    Thanks for the video Tamer!

    Between the carbide tank and the blizzard frozen from legends i want to say look like a darker version of the visionary granite gargoyle from back in the day

    Really wish there was a picture of his pin placement. I'm a now thumb bowler with a very similar overall roll. Almost exact same speed and rev, but the layout isn't a help to me since I don't know my pap.

      The picture is only relevant to the bowler and their pap. That’s why I provide the layout numbers. Your PSO should calculate your pap and can layout the ball for you with calculations.

    Looks like the old Granite Gargoyle from Visionary

    Could this also act as a Spare Ball?

      It’s a little strong for that but if you can straighten your wrist out enough, sure.

    I'm new to laying out balls and noticed Tyler's layout says 5 × 50. I like the way it rolls for him but dont know how to equate it to the 2LS. Is there a coordinate missing? Does the layout result in the pin above or below the bridge?

      Btw ... I REALLY appreciate your reviews. You are one of the few that provide honest opinions in your reviews.

    • @TamerBowling
      @TamerBowling  Год назад +2

      On the traditional dual angle method, the drilling angle has no value on symmetric balls. In other words, it doesn't matter where you put the CG. But to visualize, this ball would have pin just a smidge above the middle of the bridge. CG could be placed anywhere, we have it usually near the palm.

      @@spec215able Thank you. I really appreciate the feedback. We are getting buried like a needle in a haystack these days with so much ... content. Hoping what we do doesn't get lost.

      @TamerBowling I like the "...," lol. I've noticed that I've seen the same concerns you've mentioned in previous reviews so I definitely wait for your content before considering to buy. IMO, most "reviews" are just hi rev guys blowing up the pocket with no mention of layout or pattern. Some take the "Mystery Science Theater" route that seems light on usable observations of ball reactions. One (that used to be good) seems like he's mailing it in now. Then there's the hated "OMG, this is a must have... get it right away!" crew. Out of the many people posting, there are only four that appear to post non-biased reviews (4 for SPI, two for all others). As a Motiv lover, you and the "mailing it in" guy are my only TRUSTED sources of information. The others may lead the viewers to waste their money on a product that may not live up to the advertised hype. Companies do not "hit" on all releases and I appreciate you having the courage to say so. May you have continued success! (Sorry for the long reply.)

    Not familiar with this kind of coverstock. Does it cause carry down?

    • @TamerBowling
      @TamerBowling  Год назад +2

      Carrydown is mostly caused by low flare, doesn't matter as much which coverstock technology. We just see it more often on urethane because they have low flaring cores. So even while this ball absorbs a bit more oil than urethane, it will still cause some carrydown yes unless you drill it to flare.

    • @jvmiller1995

      All balls have carry down. But it does absorb oil into the ball unlike a urethane. I have the Blue tank and I would not trade it. In fact it has quickly became a benchmark ball in my bag. If I only was allowed to own 3 balls it would be on the list for sure. It has such a smooth predictable reaction and light to moderate oil it is still strong enough to drive through the pocket. My other ball I would not give up is my Jackal Ghost. I would love to see the MCP shell wrapped around the same cor from my ghost... I honestly believe Motive has changed this game for ever with this tech. This for sure fills a gap between urethane and reactive. They pick up a bit sooner on the frontend like a reactive but are very smooth on the backend like a urethane. These balls are not a gimmick and are amust have in my book. I am more a mild tweener style bowler. But if you are worried about carry down then I do think that they lane break down slower than with urethane.

    Comparison to Fast Pitch?

    • @TamerBowling
      @TamerBowling  Год назад +1

      Fast pitch is way closer to traditional old school urethane. A lot weaker as well.

    I'm not a fan of "urethane like" balls, either.
