iPhone - How to transfer your WhatsApp chat history. If you're moving from an iPhone to another iPhone, you can transfer your full chat and media history using WhatsApp's Chat Transfer feature. While restoring from a backup can recover all of your chat data, the Chat Transfer feature allows you to transfer your full account information including all of your personal messages, photos, videos, and documents. However, you can’t transfer peer-to-peer payment messages and your call history.
What you need ?
1. iOS 2.23.9.77 or above installed on both your old and your new iPhones.
2. Use the same phone number as your old phone on your new phone.
3. Your new phone must not be registered on WhatsApp until you start the migration on your old phone.
4. Your phones must be close to each other.
5. Both of your phones should be connected to a power source.
6. Both of your phones need to have WiFi and be connected to the internet.

Ok Guys, there si something he didn’t mention, the next thing you are going to to after you install whatsapp on your new iPhone, is to sign off of your iCloud account on the new iPhone, because if you keep with your Apple ID, whatsapp is going to try to backup your chats and if you don’t have a complete backup, the process shown in the video won’t work at all, so that’s all

I tried this, but as soon as I first login to my new iPhone using the OTP, WhatsApp gets logged out of my old iPhone and it shows me the WhatsApp welcome screen on my old iPhone, due to which I’m not even able to scan the code or anything using my old iPhone. Please help.

@@NeaCutare01 if you’re not able to transfer chats properly via the method shown in the video, then the last possible option is to buy iCloud subscription for 1 month, then take your WhatsApp backup in your old iPhone, then restore that backup in your new iPhone. I’m yet to try this, still gonna try the method shown in video first.

Do the two iphones need to have the exact same Apple ID associated with them for the transfer to work?
I had the same problem as the comments below where it would just show my old chats on the new iphone and I found the solution. Add the new iphone as a linked device to the old iphone, Then tap account and log out of the new iPhone. Then follow all the exact steps above and it will be registered correctly

Is it possible to restored partial friend data in WhatsApp? As I restored my friends chats history to new iPhone, everything look perfect until after one month I found only one of my friends data in WhatsApp wasn’t imported(no chat history). @@technowindow Ive tried multiple times, when I register on new iphone it didnt ask SMS code from old phone. Straight away asked to restore from iCloud. SIM card still with old phone.

Hi… I did this …but now my WhatsApp takes more than the needed space on the new iPhone … cause it was about 10gb on old iPhone now it takes up 99gb on the new phone… what can I do to to get it back to the normal size
Try to delete all unnecessary videos and documents from WhatsApp , Go to Settings then Storage and Data then Manage Storage. Try to Delete large files from chats.
The QR Code isn't showing on new iPhone after I do the text message verification when verifying number it asked to restore from iCloud not QR Code?

So on WhatsApp website it says u need to have the latest ios version on both devices and in my case (from iphone 7 to iphone 12) the latest iOS version for both devices is different can i still use this method??

I make it wrong ! Before see this video ! I downloaded WhatsApp on my new phone , and got logged in with my phone number , sure thing I got logged out with my old phone. Try logging into your old phone. Most probably the chats are not yet deleted. Happened to me once after finding the chats are not updated on new iPhone because there was no iCloud backup for WhatsApp 😅.

As long as you don’t delete the WhatsApp app on your old phone, the chat history will be still there when you log back in. The same happens to me when I was at Apple Store the guy knows nothing
