seen it live... Argentinian rugby lover until 3 30 am here... go Chiefs!!!
I went to the Canes/Chiefs' match. The best team won on the night. Yeah, the Canes' hands weren't the best at times. The Chiefs' No 8 had great hands and an outstanding evening. We were wondering why the Canes kept kicking the ball back to the potent-in-attack Chiefs' backs. They know what to do with the ball.
The Blues are in for a struggle against the Chiefs. I pick the Blues because their backs won't fumble as much as the Canes and they have Eden Park. Sky Stadium isn't a bastion for the home team like FMG or Eden Park, Even the ABs often lose at Sky Stadium.
I thought the Canes' tight five made a lot of yards and did a job and Billy Proctor tried hard all game in the backs and deserved his try. The Canes had a very good season. Their fans are proud of them.
It seemed to me like the canes were hell bent on imposing their game plan even if it wasnt working. After the tight first half last week against a similar game plan, you have to wonder what lessons did they take onboard.
I agree with. The canes kept kicking the ball. When Love started running it, they started gaining good ground.
Hey man, great to see others pick up those weird moments, was taking to Ben O’keefe about it and he will bring that up in the morning at the refs meeting for selection 💯
Haha man I dunno if this is serious or having a laugh. But really I do feel like for late hits it'd be useful for the officials to see the actual time elapsed. I reckon there could be studies done on how much time it actually takes to pull out of a tackle. Like if human average reaction time is 250 milliseconds, how long to take that reaction and change body position etc
It was a bit late, but nowhere near deserving a card, particularly as Jordie wasn’t injured and it had no impact on the play. Maybe a penalty but I agree he didn’t have much time to pull out.
@@TwoCentsRugby I was referring to the TJ hit, but yes it wasn’t the best night for officiating as there were lots of things they missed and this is legit as I’ve been messaging him about the games for the last 7 rounds due to TMOs missing so much and not being thorough. His profile on instagram told me that he’d raise it with the rest of the referees on Monday when they meet :)
If you have a line to Ben O'Keefe (given I'm sure he will Ref the final) ask him who is he going to hand the Championship to this year given his beloved Crusaders aren't there. Because he heavily favored the Crusaders in the Final against the Chiefs last season and heavily favored the Crusaders in the final against the Blues in the previous season.
I think the Blues are probably the favorite to benefit from his one sided style as he doesn't seem to like the Chiefs much. I haven't seen a Chiefs game Ref'ed by O'Keefe where the Chiefs have won the penalty count, and it is unusual for the Chiefs to not have someone yellow carded by O'Keefe during a game.
Let's hope without the Crusaders being in the final that O'Keefe is able to bring some balance and consistency to his performance. Let the players decide the result not the officials!
@@rob-nz6342 Ben won’t be referring this final as he’s reffed the last two. I reckon it’ll be Nick Berry, I’m hoping for a Blues win🔥🔥
Canes performance reminded me of when they lost round robin to the brumbies. Promising play punctuated by a bad last pass. Sometimes its better to play within yourself. Especially in tough passing conditions. Take the tackle and phase again. Blues have impressed me in that. So much patience and control in their play. Verns Northern hemisphere influence?
Great win to the chiefs, one interesting fact before this semi final game the chiefs were 0-4 when it came to super rugby semi-finals on the road. What a way to break that stat and do it on the road in a windy nations capital against what has been a good hurricanes side all season. Let's hope the boys have learned from their trip to Eden Park a fortnight ago and go over the Bombays a much better side for this final.
The coaches deserve a mention. First class!
Chiefs 8,9,and 10 outstanding in semi. McKenzie back to his best.
He will need to be again next week because finals are usually won by the team with the best no. 10 and Harry Plummer is playing well.
Congrats Chiefs. This was a worthy semi final. Didn't expect the Canes to trip up, neither did their fans, but they can be proud of their season. Looking forward to the final and hopefully Eden Park will be packed with Blues and Chiefs supporters with a nice drive up from Hamilton.
Blues get that home final and extra day to recover ,Blues better win .And Chiefs has a away game again, woo final better be close enough to watch
Congratulations on your team earning a place in the grand final next week Mark.Chiefs were too good for our Canes last night
That was the first time I have ever seen a person getting carded for a legitimate tackle. I have seen more than 10 later hits this weekend, that did not even get a penalty, so that was pretty ridiculous.
There is a late tackle in the Bulls v Leinster, where McCarthy goes for a chargedown, but when he realised he is not going to be able to charge down, you can see him change and then tackle the Goosen late. If there was a tackle where there should have been a card, it should have been that one, as you can see the player change his process and tackle the kick late. Jacobson, was already comitted to the tackle, and it was a proper tackle.
So, you do not have to rant, I will rant for your part. I just find the TMO's getting involved too much and when they do get involved they get it wrong, and when they ought to get involved, they don't. ... point is, world rugby should really put a consistent framework around this, becuase this is getting ridiculous.
Yeah man I just want TMOs there to stop howler tries from being given for the mostpart
As a neutral Chiefs play such an exciting style of rugby hope they can beat the Blues who a more traditional big beefy front 8.We need Super rugby to attract more Teams as Aussies hopeless.Go Chiefs 😊
Nice to see they've upped DMACs medication, he almost passed as stable.
Hobbit D Mac Smiley face 😊kicker that's new
Both teams looking for redemption
in the final. Hopefully the Blues get up
Great video mate
It was actually the referee who asked the TMO about the “force” and the TMO was put in a position he had to agree. The whole thing didn’t pass the sniff test. Concerned about the chiefs hooker situation.
Am loving young Ratima, he’s got a bright future ahead of him.
Chiefs by three next week
Yeah hopefully the Chiefs have at least one of the guys from this game fit for the final
Slater could barely put weight on his leg and Taukeiaho did;t look great when he came off. Not sure if Tyrone is out injured or they just preferred Slater but if he’s available he’s decent but will have to put in a big shift.
imagine saying he tackled too hard ffs wtf bad reffing all night
Hoping for a real contest of a GF next week, seen too many high scoring games (For me at least) these playoffs
Re TJ head contact moment. Gardner said at the time that there was mitigation because the player with the ball was falling when hit. So presumably he didn´t want to look at it further.
Right makes sense. Seemed worth another look though - I only saw one angle. Might have been the worst angle
Yeah except he wasn't falling and tj was standing up with no bending at the hips at all
@@isaacstocking7746 A half back doesnt tackle a forward without bending his hips. Not saying it shouldnt have been looked at but some statements are just silly.
Go Chiefs from Arg!!!
Yea Blues at home!
Sititi should get a run for ABs played like a beast...from a Hurricanes supporter 😭
After one good game?
A few good games in a row and he well outplayed Iose last night who was probably his most direct competition for a last squad place, or first outside squad training place.
Hey mate, I think there may have been a typo instead of HURvCHI its HURvRED
Ah cheers man fixed it!
The Sititi intercept is case in point as to why the current interpretation of deliberate knock down being applied to all intercept attempts is a total crock. The margin is slim sure, but we want to encourage players to try to do rad stuff and attacking teams should just try to pass better.
Exactly man. I'm gonna start collecting still images of these I reckon, so one day we can play the "intercept try or yellow card" game
You want to see how it's done in 7s Rugby. Absolute zero tolerance.
@@TwoCentsRugby that’s a great idea for a video, I’ll look forward to it!
Courtney Lawes made a career out of hits like that Jacobson one 😂
Easy game blues
Lets goo
Super Rugby final (?) more like an Allblack trial match 😂
Feels like it aye!
Well how can it not be. All of the best players play in Super Rugby. The ABs are not going to get picked from Provincial Club Finals are they?
FYI Edmonton Oilers up on the Florida Panthers 5-1 in the middle of game 4 of the Stanley Cup, looks like there’ll be a game 5
Seems they've finally learned how to score on Bobrovsky
He got run out after 4, the other keeper gave up 4 more!
Mate... Rough as being a Hurricanes supporter. Choke far too often when it comes to the playoffs. 😢
Should be a good final. Brums were in it but NZ teams just seem to have an extra level the oz teams can’t reach!
Refs for the Hurricanes and chiefs were all subpar, I’m a Canes man but thought the chiefs were being hard done by. Can you explain the rules as per golden oldies in the scrum but not loosing a player? Cheers
You only lose a player if one of the frontrow who had to come off was because of a card. Both hookers for the chiefs were subbed for injury and so its golden oldies with no loss of player.
The scrums went uncontested because the Chiefs lost players to injury. Losing an extra player only occurs if the team causes scrums to go uncontested due to losing players by receiving a yellow or red card. A great example is the Italy v Ireland game from the six nations, I think, two years ago, where the Italians lost one hooker to injury and the second hooker to a red card, because it was foul play that caused them to require uncontested scrums, they had to drop another player.
@@Dizzayify cheers for a good explanation
Chiefs are the definition of peaking at the right time.
Also, doleman made some very poor key decisions too. I don’t think the result would be different, but the officiating was generally poor over both games.
Yeah man final looks 50-50 with that Chiefs form and Blues home advantage
Brumbies were unlucky to get blues over hurricanes becausei reckon brumbies probably could have won that one a little easier just based on past results and as a Canberran it’s so sad we didn’t win we would have gotten a home grand final
significant force WOW shall we all go play girly soccer
What a great game from the chiefs go the chiefs
😄
wtf happened to the Canes?!
Yeah man they saved a poor performance for last
17 handling errors is gonna lose every time.... Cane's threw it all away...
Chief's will have fan's coming from the BOP as well.......🙄🙄
Im now hoping Clayton McMillan can lift a trophy 🏆 🏆🏆
Was hoping Leinster might have won, also 😳😮💨
Sad two weeks sports wise coming up for Auckland already lost league and after Crusaders the Chiefs would be the next team they are scared of but miracles can happen
Devastated for the Brumbies
So sick of these all Kiwi finals
Have to agree mate, but to the victors go the spoils. Brums should have come out in a frenzy, but hey, woulda, shoulda, coulda. Well done Blues, well done Chiefs. Mark man, I'm thinking the Chiefs are the goods for the final. Hopefully a cracker of a game.
You guys had a great year. It's not all doom and gloom for yall. The good thing about the Rebels leaving is the teams get stronger.
@Rayzajw absolutely, not despondent, just wish they had come with a more agressive strategy. Sitting back with the Blues at home was never going to work. Burney is growing every year as a coach, we have the cattle, Noah's growing as a play maker. I'm happy with our progress over all.
At least it's gonna be a different winner, 50-50 I reckon, Chiefs look the goods, Blues at home....
I'm not guttered for them they're absolutely hopeless they couldn't win their lineouts they couldn't catch the restarts couldn't catch on attack brumbies suck shit
Man - I cannot believe how EMPTY the stadiums were for both SEMI finals!?!
Contrast that with the great crowd and atmosphere at the Wahs game in Auckland on Saturday night.
What planet do you live on?
Planet rugby 😂 (both codes!)
I do think the NZ Super Teams have failed to match the same "need to be there" vibe as the Warriors. Super Rugby has more of a "I'll watch it from home" vibe. I saw an article which said there was an 11% increase in viewers, but attendances were only up like 2%.
That being said the Canes had like 30k which is pretty good. Blues suffered from the stormy weather and the bloody Wahs playing the next day taking all the fans 😅
@@footyfin 30K at Hurricanes match. 25K at the Warriors. Big national stadiums give the impression of poor attendance, as pointed out many a time.
@@mikescudder4621 Hey lads - ok, I stand corrected on the Canes home crowd. 😁
I admit - I only watched the highlights (cos I've lost interest, which is partly my point), saw big sections of empty yellow seats ... And that matched my narrative of Blues v Wahs crowds 😉
Anyhow it is promising that the Canes drew that kinda crowd ... Albeit it probably included a fair contingent of Chiefs fans.
Plus the Canes fans would've been disappointed.
Brett Cameron had a shocker. I’d expect more from an All Black
He's not an all black
Come on man, he had like one game years ago.
One test AB against Japan when they were resting other players.
Bro alot of the canes had shockers becoz of the defense pressure and the class of the chiefs,Brett is a timid 10 put a huge forward infront of him and he shits his pants doesn't really control the game like DMac

Super Rugby ... yawn. Same old since 1996. So happy SA playing in the european comps
You really have to give it a rest…..going on about the Warriors. Is this a Union channel or not?
I think it's just a reason some people didn't go on Friday. The highlights are full of people asking about the crowd - so just a bit of context aye
@@TwoCentsRugby The people making silly statements about the crowds are literally trolls. You should paste a pinned comment every wrap up video that shows how the attendance is on par with NH club games.
That JB hit too much force. What a joke it's not touch
Canes played their worst game of the season. You´d think that they would have learnt something after last week in terms of the rush defense but it took them 50 minutes to start adjusting, or maybe it was instruction from upstairs to NOT change tact. Puzzling either way. Bloody trucking Chiefs and their fluky ass tries... yes you create your own luck, but man, they had a lot of it. Clearly the inferior team and are now going to get embarrassed in the final. It is what it is.
Honestly man they couldn't catch a bloody cold yesterday....
Canes outclassed.Even the biased blind officials wouldn't give it to them no matter how much tried to..Up the Chiefs
@@markcourtney2205 It wasn´t about class.
The Canes peaked too early and the Chiefs have peaked at the right time.
Such poor crowds for semis. Super rugby is dead.
😂😂😂 welly had a good crowd
@@Rayzajw Super Rugby always catching strays from local NRL fans and the European union fans for how long now. Still wondering what we've done to them
People like you only watch people that’s weird😂
Terribly poor crowd numbers!
@@footyfin a close to 30k and a around 20k crowd 🫵🏽🤷🏽♂️
Did you play rugby at Onehunga high school?
