is the steam deck the best Portable Pc Gaming devices?
yes.
yesserieee!
A resounding no.
Yes
When it's windows compatible then yes, until then, no.
Steam Deck OLED for me. I was a day 1 Steam Deck LCD user, upgraded to the OLED Limited edition. I just don't need handhelds to run crazy games like Cyberpunk (Even though it can very well). I prefer Emulation and other games on my Steam Deck that I don't normally play at my desk on my main PC. Games like Hollow Knight, Hades, Tales of Arise, etc. Each one of these devices is awesome and has their own worth and use for sure. Steam Deck OLED is just the device for me! Great Video!
Facts! Best handheld in 2023.
@@jefferrrson1x just got it running Switch Emulation and man 🤯
I am Japanese. Uses automatic translation.
SD Rog LG I think each has their own strengths and weaknesses. So I think it's best to choose a device that suits your purpose.
I bought an LG. It would have been great if this had VRR, fingerprint recognition, and native landscape LCD.
Rog would be great if the microSD didn't get destroyed due to heat issues.
SD would be great if APU was strong.
Hey man, not sure if its my old age but your voice volume is super low. I turn you up and then an advertisement comes in blasting my speakers.
If the video had chapters, it would help navigating your video tremendously! awesome comparison.
Great handhelds all of them. For me the Ally takes the cake, don’t see a reason why I would switch to any other device but I love seeing other people’s opinions on the devices
too small and expensive
@@fanta104you must be stupid 😂
Deck too weak, Lenovo too big, ally perfecto 🤌
The 16gb ram is a struggle though. OXP2 pro has 32gb and 2TB for almost just the same price as the legion go.
Have older PC wtih 8gb ram and RTX gaming laptop with 16gb ram. Never have problem with full hd gaming. Ally 5gb settings work's for every game I played. Ram is mainly for textures and applications working in background. You can make it even bigger by setting part of SSD as virtual memory RAM.
Having owned and used the SD, Ally, and Legion GO, I can say without a doubt that the Ally takes the crown for me. I loved the SD and even considered getting an SDOLED, but SteamOS is the issue here. If all of your games are in Steam then you are golden with the SD or SDOLED and you should not look any further. If you play games from any other store/launcher/service, etc., then the SD/OLED is just too limiting unless you are willing to get down and dirty with modding to make your games work. Windows, even with it being completely trash for touch screen devices, is the superior OS if you plan to play games outside of Steam. Of the two Windows handhelds I've owned/used, the Ally wins for it's size/portability and usefulness of it's software. The Legion GO for me just felt a little too big, and the controllers were very loose when connected, giving way too much flex when hand holding the device. Plus the Legion software is not as well optimized (yet) as the Armoury Crate software on the Ally. While I enjoyed the bigger screen, the extra weight was definitely not desired. Performance wise, the LGO and the Ally are pretty much neck and neck as they are practically the same spec wise (aside from the screen resolution). If you don't mind using a battery bank or being plugged in, the Ally is the clear winner there. If portability and battery life are you biggest pain points, the SDOLED is the victor.
💯 this. Haven’t tried the LGO but have both the Ally and deck, and I found my self using the Ally more purely because their was a bunch of EA games I wanted to finish which I couldn’t get to run on my deck. Having said that Valve are doing a great job of making more and more games compatible, which means at some point I might just sell both devices and get a SDOLED.
Just got way to many devices at the moment and being a dad means I can’t really use any of them outside of the occasional handheld session.
Even if you're looking to play only steam games, it's too limiting.
For example, Call of duty.
@@DrakeHurleythat’s it tho,right?
@@Reiley-uo6vw god no, anything with an anti cheat basically.
I agree, it's crazy how hyped up the steam deck oled is, yet there is no official Xbox game pass support? That's literally crazy to me and the reason I got the rog ally.
Steam Deck. The whole point of having a handheld is picking it up and playing. The fact that Steam has it so player friendly where you can just play a game without having to go thru the oc stuff is convenient.
Got my Steam Deck OLED last week and have been playing it everyday. Loving it so far.
If I wanted higher graphics and more ability to play AAA games with the Ally and LG, I’d just get a PC. That simple.
Can’t wait for the future of gaming handhelds. Literally game changers. Don’t even need my consoles anymore PS5/XSX.
I thought so too, but i have both devices and the rog ally is actually more player friendly with windows. I had some little problems with the steamdeck. For example sometimes the sound doesn't work as it should after sleep mode while playing. I had this problem never on the rog ally. The standby on the steamdeck is not as good as on the ally. For example after one night the steamdeck loses abouth 10 % battery, the rog ally only 1%. After one week vacation my steamdeck was nearly empty and my rog ally loses only 5% battery. (Both was before on 100%) Also every game works on the ally, you just need to stick at 720p on your settings, put your device to 18 watt mode and just play on the lowest graphic mode. You get 40 fps with every game and with the vrr screen everything feels smooth. On the steamdeck not every game works fine, some games can't go above 30 fps, so it doesn't feel good and some games doesn't work at all.
Another think i don't like on the steamdeck is the desktop mode. With the ally you put your usb c cable from your monitor in and you can change your settings to 1080p for the big screen. On the steamdeck you are forced to use 720p and you can only change it to 1080p if you change into your desktop mode on the steamdeck. (That's very annoying and not user friendly) Also with the power from the ally you can play every game with 1080p low settings on your big screen.
So in total for me the rog ally is more convenient, because you always stick to 720p low graphic and every game is perfect. Also the standby is far better without problems. (Like i had on the steamdeck)
Dude slow ya roll handheld will always be limited in what they can granted yes they are getting better but the issue is that it supposed to be a portable device which means the battery is always going to be a draw back
enjoy 30 fps, zero software, no games modding ability, and while you can only play games on SD - you can literally do anything even on the most basic chineese POS not speaking of ALLY\GO that are a best, you gotta be biased af even to compare a lame ass slow console with 800p 30fps gaming while people play 70fps 1080p for almost the same buck as SD
Steam Deck has terrible battery life, so it really doesn't matter if it's portable or not since you'll be stuck to a wall anyway
You are a sensible and enlightened person. Congratulations!
one small thing you missed: All of these consoles have gyro built in, so you aren’t locked into using the sticks to aim! This allows you to tilt the handheld to get mouse-like precision without having to connect any external device or use the trackpads. The onexplayer handhelds do require an external program to enable it, though. If you don’t get motion-sickness from it, I would recommend trying it! If not, accessibility >>>>>>>> everything else. Also please note that the gyro sensor is usually built into the main body and not the controllers
LegionGo has 3 gyros as a matter of fact! 1 in the body and the other 2 in each controller. The software isn't exactly there to take advantage of it, but just interesting to note!
Great video but one suggestion, a good few of your video sounds like that the microphone is muffed as I need to turn up the volume much higher than usual to hear you. Please fix this for the future. Thanks again.
Good video sir. Getting the OLED Steam Deck right now 🎉
Speaking as a fresh Steam OLED owner, right away it feels like the better value proposition for me specifically. It allows me to dip into a decade of PC Gaming I missed aside from the absolute heaviest/or poorly optimised of games which as a percentage is small. Add to that emulation potential. The performance to power draw ratio is insane. Maxed out Arkham City and Metro Last Light and to me that’s already amazing. It fits my needs like a tailored suit but that won’t be the same for everyone else.
Did you get the etched screen or glossy ?
Yeah and these consoles are suppose to be portable the ally lasts like 1 hour while the oled lasts 3 hours
I got both original steam deck and the Legion Go, I really like the Legion Go, I can run a lot of Games
Same for me, I use them both for different situations.
Can it run PlayStation games like the rog ally, deciding which one I should get between the two
I have had the legion go i have sent it back to many issues controls are loose black screen when waking it up from stand by battery dont last long, the only thing its probably good for is the big screen and the heat it produces on the long cold winter nights 😂😂.
The fact that you can stick a full size SSD on the rog ally is a huge plus. But I still love the feel of the steam deck and the OS.
@@jcook576You cannot install a 2280 SSD in there, which is what they mean.
Very nice comparison of these 3 great devices. I agree with you that the Steam Deck OLED is the king for now. The suspend/resume feature and ease of SteamOS are huge factors for me with a handheld device.
100% sleep is the biggest issue with the windows handhelds. Like what if I’m on a bus, it’s my stop and I can’t save at the spot in the game? I’d have to get off with the device in one had still running like an idiot.

If you can tune down volume of background music, it helps a lot. Good video about Steamdeck Oled. Wonder when will Sony release the latest standalone PlayStation portable.
Returned my legion go today and ordered an SD Oled. I just want the simplicity of picking up and playing. If I want to heavy game I play on my 4080 Lenovo pro 7i laptop.
Windows 11 is being underestimated in most of these comparisons. Ease of use is nice but minimal knowledge of Windows gets you the PlayStation App and Xbox App and any other you want. You could use Gamepass, Epic, EA Play, Prime Gaming and everything on PC. You could play with mouse and keyboard with monitor or do it all as a handheld. If it can’t handle a game locally you could stream all available services from console or cloud on those Windows handhelds. Like the Steamdeck the Nintendo Switch is easy to use but not the best for solely that reason and an OLED screen. Thanks for your nice work Thunder E, I’ve appreciated your videos throughout the years.
hard disagree, you can get all those programs up and running fairly easy on the steam deck. good thing asus and lenovo joined the handheld market to give gamers options
Windows is never an issue for me since I started using pc to play games. I found it has the best of both worlds. I can play all my steam games and non steam games as easy as on my steam deck, literally just double click the game icon it automatically start steam or any launcher for me in a second and just play it! Steam deck is not any easier or faster in my opinion. Unless you never used windows before of course.
@@gangwu4541 it's windows everyone's had to have used it in their lifetime, i like the steamos on the sd it just feels right, easy to use and navigate and I'm sure that's how you feel with the ally and windows so we both eating good man
I like the ROG ally the best its became my favorite out of the current gen handhelds looking forward to gen two in a few years
For me it is the ally. I have owned it in conjunction with the xg moble for a few weeks now (I got the 3080 version on sale for $799). Being able to have it on the go and make it into a desktop is amazing. I replaced my desktop that had a 1660 super in it. So for around $1400 (for me $799 because I won the ally in a give away) I have a 3070 equivalent desktop that I can take on the go. I feel like the ally alone would go toe to toe with my old setup. I believe ASUS has found incredible with this combo.
I love my Rog Ally!
I got the deck already and the Go seems pretty unique for me to justify having that as well
It's heavy, basically a full laptop in your hands
I have them both and use them for different situations.
Another amazing review. Big fan of the Lenovo Legion Pro and its features, but I think I'll go for the Steam Deck given SteamOS, even though it has a weaker overall processor. Plus, there's a ton of mod support for the device which makes it unparalleled
honestly personally what makes me prefer the steam deck rn is the battery life compared to the others
Not to mention it’s the cheapest
No one cares about mods. It should be able to play games and the steam deck cant
@@Raznak Only games you can't play are ones with anticheat. Which are almost all competitive shooters, you DO NOT want to play that on controller. A portable device like the deck is not meant to play competitively. If that's what you're buying if for sorry but you're clueless, save for an actually pc, not a deck, not an ally, not a legion go. Even if it worked I would never play them. The only true way to play these games is on pc with mouse and keyboard.
@@frnono i am better at shooters with a controller than a mouse and keyboard. I own a legion Go and i love playing any and every game on it (the software sucks but the hardware is capable and once the bugs are fixed, it will be my go to for all type of games. You can always attach a bluetooth mouse and keyboard if you are anal about controls. That being said, the SD is a weak device. Doesnt have the raw power that can give you the confidence to play AAA games with good fps. The money Steam asks for it bs the performance you get out of it is not proportional. Educate yourself
I enjoy the ROG ALLY the most
I still fail to see why someone would pick Steam Deck over a ROG Ally. Ally has better specs and can use Game Pass without issues.
Steam deck can also use gamepass just look it up
@@CJTheTokay Yeh but it has a lot of problems doing so. Like why get Steam Deck if it the specs are less powerful than the Ally?
Well, the Steam decks battery life is incredible, not everyone cares about performance as much as you do, and the Ally is still pretty expensive, and if you want to play with it plugged in at 30w that's great, but that's basically a laptop at that point, at 15w they are basically the same performance, but you get over double the battery life on the deck and then there's windows which sucks on a handheld, steam os won't allow you to play every game in existence but for the most part there are workarounds for that and it delivers a console experience which is very nice,
and then Ally sometimes needs games to be on the internet for the time booting it the Steam deck doesn't, and then the hardware issues with the Ally are awful I have seen multiple people complaining about having to go through 4-5 allys just to get a good one, the ally isn't really a portable handheld unless you get a battery pack but then that's even more money for an already expensive handheld, and then there's also valves support for the steam deck they have updates and patches all the time, and they just seem to care about the steam deck, Asus has had updates yes but this whole sd card issue being ignored when they said they were gonna fix it is awful, the steam isn't as powerful but these are some of the reasons people tend to go for it over the ally I'm still deciding which one I want though I don't have either so no biases here just what I have seen so far.
@@CJTheTokay to be honest, I'll just need whichever one will allow me to play GTA 6 flawlessly when it comes out
@@CJTheTokayWhich are twice as big a storyteller? At 15 watts it lasts 1.5 hours and at Oled Versions 2 hours. And the community is still trying to add power steam deck And they don’t look at battery life.
User experience, battery life and ease of use rule over windows and subpar-performance increase. which is why i prefer steam deck over ally but its in the user preferance
I had cases to where steam deck is better fps wise, there were also cases where rog ally had trouble loading games like the evil within even thought they should work. This was during launch of rog ally so here is hoping tons of thing are improved today
Pretty simple for me get the rog ally for game pass ea pass and epic games and emulator. And get the steam deck oled for steam games. That what I'm doing
All amazing in their own right. I still have to go with Steam Deck, not a fan of windows in such a small form factor. Plus the Deck has the best battery life in terms of portability. (Imo)
Valid point
Colonel Singala... you're a true inspiration
SteamDeck and SteamDeck OLED all the way. Best thing since slice bread.
Steam Deck? NOPE!!
Reasons? Very simple
The Steam Deck doesn’t have egPU support. It requires REFORMATTING for any external memory that you want to use. Also if you have any problems with PC games, most if not all the resolutions that you will find Online will be for WINDOWS as opposed to Linux base fix. Also the SteamDeck has the lowest performance of the bunch.
If your are a PC Gamer you will immediately see all these problems. The issue is that most who buy the Steam Deck are not even PC players. The SD is their first Pc gaming device and they come from consoles.
I have a PC Build and also a RazerBlade, my Handheld of choice would be the ROG ALLY since ASUS has better game support vs the others, its light for travel with a big screen and great performance. Also because is Windows i can connect my external SSD from my PC to the ROG Ally and play the same games on the go.
The one x player 2 pro looks really nice. I wish there’s a way to test run it over here in my province.
So I’d like to have one of them as a hendheld and Livingroom console. What would you say I’m best off with? I think the SDOLED might have a to low of resolution for the tv.
I’d go with the Ally
I’ve had the original SD, currently using the Ally and still considering the SD Oled. Only thing dragging my decision on and on is the weak performance of SD APU. The Z1E blows it out of the water, especially at 30W. Performances are even better with the latest BIOS and driver updates. Support for the Ally has been great from Asus so far. SD is better for many other aspects, battery life especially. With the ally you need a power bank or a wall plug or is it almost unusable with that crappy battery life.
But that’s the problem. The ally is just a laptop in a handheld case. It’s not a handheld unless you lower the TDP and then it performs worse than the
Steam deck at 15W. Yes you can run it up to 30 and get mid range laptop performance but then it needs to be plugged in. So a laptop really. Steam deck is the choice unless you want a laptop and then probably just better buying a laptop!
@@zappybazinga8124the Ally is now better at 15w than the steam deck
@@zappybazinga8124 well... SD at 15W under full load has a crappy battery life as well (the LCD, not the OLED) and it becomes HOT (even >80C) while the Ally at 15W barely reach 60C and perform on pair or better than the SD with the latest BIOS update (on release date 15W performances were crap). The ROG Ally is a much better device hardware wise, but it's not a better handled because of its limitation with battery life. If you use it primary at home and you can plug it, it's a no brainer and it performs much metter. You need to deal with the idea you need a plug or an external battery pack and this was not a thing on my deck.
Its still not a laptop have you seen gaming laptop chargers??@@zappybazinga8124
The sd card problem is still present or the rog ally right?
Hard to compare as even though they all play games, they are fundamentally different devices that offer different experiences even if there is overlap.
The Ally and the LGO offer way more flexibility out of the box, if you use game pass, EA play, Epic, Ubisoft games etc… then the windows handhelds are better, additionally you can transfer games directly from your pc or laptop without having to redownload them and don’t have to put in any real extra work to get mods working or emulators running. Granted windows is trash at this size, but even then outside of the initial setup you don’t really need to do anything on windows and spend most of your time in armoury crate, which houses all your games and launchers, also allows you to update your device and is a button click away.
If most of your games are on steam, and you prefer a streamlined console experience where you just turn it on and don’t have to set anything up outside of logging on to your steam account and you don’t mind putting extra work to get mods and emulators working then the deck is definitely the way to go.
Neither is going to be banging out triple AAA games at high refresh rates and that’s not what these are for in my opinion, so comparing specs outside of the screen is mute in my opinion, but you can’t go wrong either way.
Im 28 yo, and im using steam from 2010. I never bought any game on pc outside of steam, i never liked using other launcher because steam was always superior
The oled is definitely the way to go if you have a bit more money.
But if you were going to go with one of the windows units, the player One X is the one I would choose because of the detachable keyboard! The biggest problem with the other ones is trying to log in using the touch screen .
ally has a fingerprint reader, don’t really need to hassle with that. Works good for me.
OneXplayer pro is looking like a great device but damn that price is steeep
The ROG Ally no contest, I have used the Ally, the Deck and the GO and nothing beats the Ally.
Why
Which device have the best gaming list. I dont have a laptop or anything so im sure i wont have any games when i buy one of these devices. Which one have the best gaming library. What would you prefer i got ps5 and a nintendo switch oled so i never had windows
I don’t have a gaming laptop either, only a MacBook. I went with the steam deck oled and have no regrets.
I have all three; SD, ally, go. For me the ally is the winner, it’s the perfect size for mobility, could be even smaller actually. It has also the best optimization which puts out the highest performance of right now, and it’s quiet. Things they could improve is definitely the battery (it is absolute dogshit lol), the sticks because they feel very loose and vulnerable, lastly the SD card holder even if I personally haven’t had any problems with it yet.
For now the Deck and in second perhaps the ROG Ally. Legion Go is very new on the market, although it improves every day in its development and its proposal is similar to Ally with improvements. I would say it is the trinity of handheld games.
ROG Ally. If you know, you know.
Hi, your channell is great I'm just new subscriber but, just give a llite boost on your audio before rendering, But yoru review was juice as always, but when the ads come out the sounds was too loud , Becuase I need to volume up when you're explaining in your episode. That's all I keep always watching your review in the future
Thanks for the feedback. Will look into that😀
great video, but please fix the audio for next ones, I had to turn the volume up to more than triple of what I usually have it at
I know i would only use ROG Ally at home but that battery was horrendous. Sometimes would've liked to have travelled it around the house. I think Lenovo will be the better 1.
You guys are confusing me more about which device i should buy
Steam deck
It comes down to OS I feel and if you HAVE to have an OLED screen. LOVE oled, but steam deck being linux (been linux user for years) is still a hard sale. I like the ease of use of SD but with ROG and GO being windows I don't have to worry about what games are playable. People say no tinkering with the deck but thats if your only going to play games 100% compatible with the deck. For me I think is going to come down to the Rog or the GO. I want to like the GO as im a screen size guy, but beign new I would have to deal with the growing pains.
Are the orange accents on the Steam Deck a reference to the Orange Box?
Not sure but that’s only on the limited edition
I had a tough decision to make when deciding on which of the 3 I was going to get. I ended up going with ASUS. I believe I made the absolute right decision. I love the thing.
for game testing you need to test games without capped framerate
As a cloud gamer, both the steam deck and ROG ally are not the best options. I recently had the ally, switched over the legion and it’s a crazy difference between the two. I use the legion for the games I can’t play on the cloud but when I do play the harder to run games via GeForce now, I need the 1440p at 120hz mode. Unfortunately the ally has a usbc 3.2 port that maxes out at 10gb which 1440p needs 13gb so the ghosting was terrible. The legion go has usbc 4 which maxes out at 40gb per second transfer speed. Just got a usbc 4 dock so I’ll let y’all know how it feels and works.
I'm assuming you meant you use an external display when cloud gaming?
Cloud gamer doesn’t exist
@@diegobarrantes7dbI got into hitman 3 playing it on switch cloud, sunk tons of time into it even with the iffy performance and timeouts from inactivity
Legion Go FTW
Guys please get the Steam Oled. I had both and believe me you wont be disappointed with either but the OLED is more comfortable, joystockw are far better more batyery and everything is so simple.
Steam deck will not play all the games and doesn’t work with game pass. Selling the steam deck oled after getting the Ally and playing it. Gta5 runs far smoother at 120hz on the Ally and it is 1080p. Far better.
What's the first game you were playing on the SD OLED at the intro?
Doom eternal
100F, good lord what is ambient like there? My OLED deck typically doesn't exceed 70C, same as the reviews, and the Go and Ally typically run in the 70's as well, something is off!
Так там и мощности по больше будет и более стабильный фпс😅 Стим дек обычно греется до 90 , если не ограничивать его.
I think so, yes.
However it's not the most powerful, and to some people that's the only thing that matters.
I think the Steam Deck is a very carefully considered and balanced device. Every single spec feels like a very deliberate decision was made, from the screen resolution to the TDP of the custom AMD chip to the decision to use Linux to the size, shape, and battery capacity. They could have gone MORE with any one of these, but that would be to the detriment of other factors. The Steam Deck is the perfect balance of performance and efficiency with today's technology, and only when sufficient enough performance improvements are available without just throwing more wattage at the issue will we see a true successor.
Anyone who has has add all three knows the ROG is the best.
I was playing red faction last night on my steam deck oled LE and got prompted to setup the graphics and I see that it detects card as ATI Radeon HD 5600 series. Is this correct what apu is in the deck?
Steam deck oled lives on back to being the best
Awesome video!!! 👏👏👏
Perfect timing. Need to see this.
The Steam Deck OLED is just too good bang for your buck with the better UI & overall entry point od experience for eas of use
I have both the Ally and Deck OLED. The Ally is a nightmare. It glitches just from lookng at it the wrong way, and mine just broke itself to where it refuses to turn on for more than 5 minutes. I had to RMA it today. When it works, it's an incredible device, and I actually prefer it over the Steam Deck (except for the screen).
The Deck OLED looks amazing, and fixes the biggest problem all these PC handhelds have, which is poor battery life. The Deck OLED has stellar battery life, I just hate how big it has to be.
Can call of duty mw3 be played on these devices?
I read somewhere that you get shadow banned by doing so,is that correct?
Yeah I'm hearing the fluxuation of the tdp during gameplay is what's causing the ban hopefully the developers address this because I've always been a call of duty player but it sucks I cant play on the legion go at the moment I even have the warzone Damascus skin on my legion go and ghost skull thumb stick grips .
@@kdubspencer3390 is this problem known by the developer of cod i wonder?

Great video! ❤
You don’t seems to realise that your fps is limited to your screen’s max fps… next time turn vsync off😅
Steam Deck OLED: The King of PC Handhelds??? Short answer, No, absolutely no. ROG Ally or Lenovo are waaaaaaays beyond Steamdeck that doesn't even support FSR3's FrameGeneration lol. Outdated device
steam deck will be supported by steam for a long time and fsr 3 will be added over time. But for example, rog ally or lenovo will “turn into a pumpkin” in a year because... No one will optimize new games for them. Of course, I don’t argue that rog ally and lenovo are more powerful, but then you have to sacrifice the battery. Well, your opinion
You stole all 3??????
Lmao 😂😂
Can I bring the steam deck out and play outdoor on the go? Or is it just for indoor playing with wifi?
Can play without wifi
Why steamdeck oled is more expensive then than rog ally here in my country??
Prob because its newer. Rog still wins imo
This is a unfair comparison why the steam deck is a different league from the legion go vs rog ally. The legion go and ally have the same processor which is newer from the same company as steam deck have older processor.
It's all about value proposition, too. Given weaker hardware, the Steam Deck still holds its own. But where it falls short on horse power, it makes up for in value. You get a console/handheld experience from the Deck. You can pick it up and go. You don't have to fiddle with things very much to get it working right. Stuff just "works." The fit and finish and aesthetic at point of use is thoughtful and elegant. Steam Deck is the MacBook of the handheld gaming world. Maybe not the most powerful machine. But it delivers the best overall experience. On the other hand, you can get something like the Ally which has raw horse power and a (theoretically) larger content library but at the expense of jankiness, bugs, and having to fuss with it constantly in order to get it working right. It's also a poor choice for gamers who aren't really interested in AAA titles, or who play a lot of point and click RPG's and the like. Stuff that requires a trackpad. None of this even mentions the fact that the battery life on the SD is just way better.
People should buy according to their needs and preferences. I need a portable device that just works out of the box, more or less, and optimally runs the games I enjoy playing the most. I prefer a device that feels like it was made for the purpose of providing a handheld gaming console experience rather than some Frankenstein monstrosity of a Windows PC masquerading as a handheld gaming console. That means it's the Steam Deck for me.
You earned a new sub
Cyberpunk would've been a good game to test, it can be intensive
You can't play COD MWIII in steam deck, Steam Deck is too weak for AAA games, I got one 2 weeks ago and now the desktop not working just black screen, SD is piece of junk.
I really regret buying this junk.
the background music is shit but great review
Can you get the special edition 1 without the anti-glare coating on the screen??!?😮
That I wanted too, and there will be a way in the future by replacing the screen but I may just get 512 one and miss out the limited edition one.
IMO best option for people coming from console gaming is the steam deck oled or rog ally. For people who are PC Gamers the Lenovo Legion Go is a no brainer.
No the oled is not the king lol. Can barely run MW3 at a solid Framerate
Who even play on a competetive game on a handheld pc☠️
@@genius7076 u under every comment just hating
@@Techguy104 where im hating bro?
I had the regular steam deck and didn't use it at all felt limited on aaa games sold it and got an ally for street fighter 6 and love it so much i play so many games that just couldn't run on the steam deck they run so smoothly on my ally
It doesn't have enough power to be king, but steam os is damn good
Temperature is in Celsius or Fahrenheit?
Fahrenheit i think
never mind celcius
Steam Deck OLED is clearly the king of the bunch despite other devices have some better features. It's seamless user experience, control options, and comfort make it a clear winner by far. I think 2nd place probably goes to the Legion Go for its diversity, larger screen, and high watt performance. ROG Ally seems to be at the bottom with lack of control options and basic feature set.
Привіт 🙋 класні приставки дякую за огляд 👌
10:38 105 °C?? o.O
I love the screen on the SD OLED, it's also plenty for me, I exclusively use it for emulation and playing classic PC games.
You do realize that ur windows handhelds are in 60hz mode so they result will never be more than 60
ROG FOR THE WIN!!!!
I agree with you for most people the steam deck will be a much better option!
Legion go
If valve actual makes a free windows update upgrade with better compatibility that would be awesome. I'm still getting the OLED, if it goes through some day at least ill have it on hand but for the future of now i down feel like waiting hours for a different os system not that i cant do it but i just rather take the lazy mans route about. 😂
ROG ally
The way I game I would stick with a windows device
Go for the win in 6 months.
Steam deck oled tutta la vita.
Like all
SteamOS alone beats the ally and go
🧢
No it doesn’t 😂
Legion go
