2020 Toyota Highlander Platinum AWD Review - Solid 3 Row SUV Or Should You Skip It?

The 2020 Toyota Highlander is all new for 2020 and it is packed with a lot of fresh tech. If you're in love with the Toyota brand and are looking for a solid 3 row SUV, this will be a great choice. But this AWD suv sits in a competitive market with other alternatives like the Hyundai Palisade, the Acura MDX, and the Volvo XC90. I hate it that so many reviewers do not get that you can slide the second seat forward to give more room for the third row passengers. Yes, the third room has little leg room when the 2nd row is slid all the way back, but the 2nd row can slide forward 8 inches to go from 28 inches to 36 inches. 36 inches is about what you will find in a typical compact car. In so doing, the 2nd row passenger can also have 36 inches of leg room, and the first row has 37 inches. The third row is still uncomfortable because of how low the seat is and how thinly padded the cushion is. Headroom for anyone taller than 5'9" is also limited. The third row can recline to give taller passengers more headroom. Also, I agree that you cannot seat 3 normal sized adults in the third row because the Highlander is much narrower than the typical 3 row crossover.

Well, for your information, a Toyota sales person in the dealership advised me not to buy the Highlander, because of the third row, and when I asked if they had a three row SUV, he said no with the Highlander plane in sight. you know it’s bad when a Toyota sales person advises you not to buy a Toyota.

"The drive isn't precise..." what the heck is that? Does the Highlander swerve left and right in the lane? Does the steering wheel have gap in steering?
