I wrote this song with Benny and I am so gratified to see so many people appreciate this for the work of art that I always felt that it was. I was Benny's barometer for his South American heritage, but he kept me worthy of his patriotic aspirations. He LOVED America, I mean LOVED! He was great American hero and deserves every bit of gratitude he gets for that. He knew it then. He really knows it now! Miss you my brother!
All i can say about Benny is "WOW " I heard into the night cover and it's great but no one can beat his Voice, Thank You Duane for your part in all of it! One of my favorites is "This Time" i have the neighborhood women going crazy over it. Did you help with that one? If the Radio stations aren't pushing this song then i will :)
@@karensherman803 Karen, yes I recorded "This Time" with the Hurricanes at RightTrack Studios in NYC in 1982. That's one we never did in concert, for some reason. At least, I never did it in concert while I was in the band. Glad you appreciate it!
Thanks for posting. Loved seeing Benny live in the Utica/Syr area. I've seen Bon Jovi and the head of Sony music acknowledge in interviews how great he is/was.
Why couldn't he make a proper comeback? Whatever happened with Polydor in the beginning was a tragedy. They totally mismanaged his career. They should have got him into rehab immediately and laid down the law right from the beginning. The whole world missed out on this great talent, meanwhile we have the likes of what....John Legend, Justin Bieber, the long forgotten Steve Perry who let his voice wither up while he hid out someplace for years after he dismantled Journey? And while we are at it, what ever happened to the DVD of his life story? Into The Night: The Story of Benny Mardones.
I cringe when the put Perry on his level. Benny tears my heart out. Perry just screams. Also now we know how vile filthy and corrupt the business we will nevet know what was done to Dear Benny. He was prob “sacrificed” for someone who played ball w these creeps. I adore Benny. I listen every day.
@@Cherryvanilla27 he was sacrificed for John Cougar Mellancamp. Who in my opinion is kind of not nice guy. Benny was always nice from what i have heard and read. And yes, the music industry is the most corrupt industry in the world. Look what is happening with Sean P Diddy. He is no angel but he will be sacrificed by the industry. Watch and see.
@@Cherryvanilla27I agree- Benny’s voice has the X factor of insane passion/emotion in his voice. I’ve always heard Steve Perry songs my whole life and while they sound similar , Perry’s voice has never moved me like that. It’s the visceral emotion missing . When I hear Benny, I’m hooked
I’m pretty sure I was there. It was out front of hooligans bar in central New York. Syracuse / Liverpool. Can I get confirmation. Awesome show. Yes about 10 years ago.

He was an "APPRECIATOR and ENCOURAGER" expressed great love
Yes, I'm so grateful for his service for our country and also for sharing his magical talents with the world, too. RIP BENNY.
The best singer of all times in the States: I always tought it was Steve Perry. Now I know it is Benny Mardones.
I wish whoever was filming had let us see more of Benny singing.
Benny mardones nota mil espetacular
This song should’ve been a number 1 hit! 🔥
Hard to pick a favorite out of so many great songs, but this one ranks #1. RIP Benny.
Wow, wow, wow. AMAZING! You will be missed, Benny.

I totally agree with you on that he definitely didn't have the right Manger or help to make a proper comeback .

You are spot on about Steve Perry!... in many ways Benny's voice was just as good, if not better then Perry's
