While I totally support these guys moving their sound in new directions, I still can't get enough of Underneath the Pine. I wish there were an endless repository of songs with the same vibe. Shit is a masterpiece.
Agreed honestly I still look at Underneath the Pine and Causers of This as his best 2, I personally cant decide which one I like more lmao. The atmospheres are very unique and intriguing. Anything in Return and What For are both great gems as well but I found myself not really digging 2-3 songs on each. His newest effort Live From Trona is a masterpiece opening with Divina from UtP. My only complaint is it has too much stuff from What For and that nothing from CoT is played. Regardless I look at it as a whole and can say its a great album!

They kill it at the end.... wish they kept that going!

Forced? What do you mean? I think this has more energy than the studio version, like lives shows tend to be. I appreciate the song a lot more after having seen this. The studio version just didn't bump me like this one does.

I just became aware of this/these guys through twitter, and if I may be so bold, I'm gonna make some costuctive criticism. Great song, great chops, spesh the drummer, really fluid, but - a little better live vocal control and some tasteful b-vox could lift this into the realms of greatness. Obviously this vid is already a few years old, and I hope these guys are still pumping and, most of all, having a ton of fun!!
