Loud bikes dont save lives! Riding smart and predicting cagers moves, save life. Its on you not any obe else! I def agree with you

You need to have telekinesis to predict cagers moves lol you can never expect the unexpected, just keep a safe distance just in case

Smart driving distance and.being more cautious and loud bikes all count

When I was driving a car I could only hear the motorcyclist when he was right beside me. That shows how sound insulated car interiors are.
Bikers use their exhaust revbomb as a horn nobody hears it and you loose control and crash.

I purchased a loud exhaust because I liked it. It's not really going to make you safer. Never think that a soccer mom or someone texting is paying attention. They think you care about them..lol

The perspective of the loud pipes saves lives debate that nobody seems to focus on is that is saves pedestrians from stepping out in front of you. Which might be saving their life.
I've had a few situations where a pedestrian was about to cross the road, either just not looking properly or on the phone and the sound of the bike coming was what made them stop and look. Can't say for sure it would have been the same if I was on a quiet electric bike.

Not sure I agree with you hugging the curb; yea it gives you more space from the cars turning into that lane, but it also decreases their visibility of you and eliminates your ability to move.
It may sound counterintuitive but I ride in the middle/ right lane closest to the cars in that scenario so I’m visibly in their mirrors.
If I recognize that one might turn out; I can either escape by trying to swerve and speed up, or swerve and slow down moving into the open position while honking my horn or reving the engine.
And knowing you’re in a dangerous spot, you should be prepared to move and ride slower than usual which also gives cars more time to see you. Also having your bike in a lower gear usually allows you to speed up and slow down quicker.
If you’re cruising in 5th or 6th in that situation, you’re taking away options available to you and making it harder to respond quickly.
Edit: adding the time to give context- 5:10

I been riding since 03. I bought a bike day I graduated high school. I ride a new gsxr750 now, but I've had them all.
For a brand new rider a 600cc on up "crotch rocket" are heavy. If you try a duke 390 or a ninja 400, or a cfmoto 450; they are light, insurance is cheap, and they can still do interstate. Now in 6th going around 85 an you pin it; not a whole lot is gonna happen, but they are still fun, and very nimble.
Back to the insurance prices. Full coverage at my age per month is 160 dollars if I want a 500 dollar deductible. That means if I drop it I can pay 500 an insurance pays the rest to fix damage. If I set my deductible to 1000 then I pay 120 a month. If I want just liability then its 15 bucks a month. If you finance a bike then you're requited to have full coverage. With just liability if I drop it then I have to pay out of pocket to fix it, but if someone hits me then they pay.

DUDE u said everything I keep telling people on IG. ITs Not a race track, you should expect the unexpected! And if you are just out riding on Fun and Good Will, assuming everyone is a sober, undistracted law biding citizen...Well you are dead wrong! You should treat everyone and everything out on the road as a potential road hazard! Were they in the wrong? Probably. Are you likely injured for life? Well, unless you're lucky then yes, Probably! Ride within your limit, maintain your bike, and ride like you are invisible! Edit: btw nice bike man man love the red. My buddies recommended me the same bike as you, but I went with the sv650 instead. Its in great condition , its an 08, 3rd owner, only scratches on it are from me! it has ABS and just is more forgiving for me as a learner. ABS has saved my butt multiple times. a 650 is more than enough for anyone to get into trouble with, its faster than vast majority of vehicles yet its quite beginner friendly. My buddies probably think its lame but I probably shouldnt ride with them anyway so i dont care lol.

It helps a little I agree, but it won’t save ur life…I can tell in 2mins if someone is a high risk out there just by how they ride..giving ur self extra time is what keeps you alive. Stay safe out there
