- Town of Salem ranked is back today with a pretty crazy mafia play that throws town into utter disarray. Town of Salem is all about deducing evils from votes and their words. In this game several town members make a critical mistake, believing a known mafia. This mafia play could turn the game completely around and allow them to come back from insane odds. In Town of Salem ranked, anything can happen!

Did the jailor just actually think the maf sold out their team mates, when that would be throwing and now he threw by killing you?
If the maf actually throws, they always leave immediately after. That maf stayed, so it should have been pretty obvious it was a fake throw.
tbf i've seen Maf throw a lot of times.
Apparently he is the guy who does this shit, so he believed them.
it was not unreasonable for jailor to think that maf threw and I was evil, but he could have found out by lynching one of us during the day instead of killing 3 townies in 1 night (me exed, vigi shot, vigi death) and losing his exes. The right call was to lynch either one of us the next day and see if maf was telling the truth.
But then he DC'd which was pretty awful of him.
Jailor didn't dc'd, he just died of guilt, like the vigi.

@@kentstopme yeah but as jailer and vigi, two of the most important town roles you have to understand people will try to manipulate you to kill an inno. It is massively important that as vigi and jailor you always make a move that gets town a more guaranteed win. There is no world jailor and vigi exe that night. They don't have to. Make sure you know who are maf then exe. When you are WAY ahead, play it safe
It's a snapshot of the state of the game. People throw so often and blatantly that it is believable. There are people who join games and just spam 'I'M throwing and the mods do nothing' and you see them day after day.
Yeah I think town of salem mods are pretty much nonexistent, or at the very least, they refuse to do anything meaningful. I see people like Cake or Kyle in roughly a third of my lobbies. Both of them are notorious throwers in case you haven't had the displeasure of meeting them. And no matter how many times they get reported, they just keep doing the same thing, and on the off chance one account gets banned they just pay $5 and have a new one. I wish the devs had a way to ip ban them or something.
It's also how d1 maf leavers happen so often, a forged mafia leaver is so easily believable.
I did enjoy this video, seeing you rage felt good in the sense that I understood why you were feeling that way and so it just resonated within me.

This is why I feel people should not be able to leave ranked games if they're dead. It lets people intentionally throw a game, which is 100% what 11 did, and then just leave to queue up for the next one. If you leave a ranked game in progress, your account should be stuck in that game regardless and you cannot queue up for the next game until its done. All these "bored" people who throw games would be weeded out very quickly.

That did deserve a rage. The mafia person stayed after being lynched. I've never seen a maf actually throw like that and then stay in the game.
It's also so frustrating how people are so fine with games being thrown. I've even had people saying not to report people for leaving because they "might have a legitimate reason" for leaving right after being converted into vampire and costing vamps the win.
This is made up numbers but I'd wager around... 49 of 50 people who leave games when they're 'it' (Mafia, Evil, Vamp, you name it) are simply privileged bitchasses who are sobbing ragequitters. I stuck out 6 evil / neutral evil games in a row today and it sometimes just makes me wonder why I bother.
The system clearly doesn't punish spoilsports who leave as evils, I'm playing my line-up of evil games hoping for one Town game and when I finally get it they have a bitchass on their team who disconnects Day 1 and ruins the quality of *my* Town game, it's unfair as fuck. There's no worse feelings than playing by the rules and having privileged, shitty cheaters skipping their turns being evil without consequence.
As Skimm has said before (I think)... if you don't think you can finish a game, don't queue at all

Weaponizing how bad the report system is and how nobody gets punished for gamethrowing is such a shitty way of playing Mafia, honestly.
It's hard to call it cheating since Mafia needs deception to win, but it's a really cheap way to play the game.
People would be less likely to believe these sorts of bogus "fuck this game im going to troll" plays if they knew that the system picks up on this behavior and permanently removes actual spoilsports.
Yeah I ran into a game like this, thankfully I was jailer and basically just grabbed him by the balls and forced them to not listen. But yeah it sucks I even actually did believe them since throwing like that is so unbelievably common I was just being cautious since it was smart and like he said there's no need if they're already outed take it slow.
It is a bit meta, but it's not hard to figure it out honestly, a slight amount of patience will tell you if they threw or not.

Playing this game really just takes a toll on my braincells sometimes. Every single game town goes along with obvious exes and they NEVER listen to TIs and just do their own thing "VFRing" like I had a game where I was talking so much and trying to expose an evil I found and town was literally just ignoring me deciding to go with the exe and so on. Then they literally had the audacity to blame me for losing for "not sharing my will" when I was literally basically spamming it.

I recently retrurned to ToS and noticed they removed sk and ww from ranked, this makes evil games x5 harder in my opinion, in 10 games I played the mafia won once, game is kinda broken

They just want to have a good rank in whatever game where their meager IQ can actually let them have it. That's really all it is. Really wish the mods for TOS actually gave a damn anymore. Players like the Vigilante and Jailor 100% should be banned. Telling town to kill two random people because a mafia member told you to, and then your only reasoning for that being "I was bored"? That's either you acting like an idiot because you're embarrassed, or straight up admitting to throwing. Jailor 100% should be banned since he just straight up exe'd a TP claim, refused to listen, and then left the game in embarrassment. This is why I mostly play AA or Coven, since there aren't as many people who just blatantly throw.

Why do people believe evils? Just why...
people seem to forget what it actually takes to get banned. as far as i know none of the players here broke any of the rules. first off there are only 2 ways to get banned for dcing, the first one is that if you *announce* that your going to leave. second if you get reported too many times for dcing. you can't really sus out if the dcing was intentional or not because you start to have a false positive rate.
yes both the jailor and the vigi where fucken idoits. but being bad at the game can't get you banned. killing a tp claim when there they were the only one? not a bannable offense as that takes into account game knowledge.
I would argue that 11 straight up threw. Shot a townie, and when confronted their defense was "I' was bored, report me see if I care". That is basically them saying outright that they threw the game.
Yeah 11 I'm unsure of if that would be bannable, but jailor leaving I think could be. I tend to report people who dc in case they dc often. I agree people shouldn't be banned for occasionally disconnecting which can happen to anyone, but I report them in case they do it all the time.

When I lose as evil I jokingly out people all the time like that. The disguiser didn’t play bad but by no means was that a crazy smart tactic. In fact, actually putting one maf and two town would be much better, but you’d have to play it in a way so evils gain majority afterwards. Either some townies die by trusting you or maf stays alive because they didn’t trust you
Wow. I think your best bet in that scenario would've been to point out that 11 was shooting 3 that night, so there was no need to make the exe play.

Come to think of it, 3 probably should've roleblocked 11 to stay alive. They would've been revealed as town when you came up as Bodyguard the next day.

You seem pretty slow.. upping 2 instead of 8 or 9 and then barely defended yourself in jail. Yes we get it, jailor did a bad play but I've never seen something more easily defendable. You didn't even paste will.. and then you exclaim "I WOULD'VE PROTECTED 9" LOL.
Yeah probably could have played better in jail but how fast he hit the exe made me think there was nothing that could be done. I tried to explain to him that exing me wasn't necessary either way.
