Did you mention that at a lot of the USA conventions you can only display MOC's? This then excludes beginners starting out with collecting sets taking part.
Yes, you’re only allowed to display MOCs. That being said, MOCs of all skill level are on display. It makes it more interesting than sets that anyone could buy
