My camera only has the option to use one, and im using it in an angle that would literally save me if i could use two of these lines... At this time I have not been able to find any Hikvision 8MP variants of the License Plate cameras available. I am testing out the iDS-2CD7A86G0-IZHSY camera currently with some of the settings you demonstrated, but using the Synology DVA3221 for the ANPR and vehicle detection features. Fingers crossed.

yes blacklist can trigger an output, email , software notification for sure, and the plates don’t show up on the video itself but can work through the display tab and sub-stream , but to be honest add to the NVR or HIK-central and it shows all the plates as there read anyway 😊

Yes correct , mine tells me each time I pass through on the white list vehicles , sometimes the app doesn’t send the notification if there are a lot of the reads , but the email works every time 😊
Great video thanks! It helped me a lot. I have a question with regards to the Smart Display. The plates are not recognized in the Smart Display, although the camera does identify and capture the images. When I open Smart Display, I get a popup message prompting me to have Internet Explorer IE11.0.9600.17843 installed. I tried running it in Internet Explorer mode, but it still does not work. I would greatly appreciate any help!
Hi just got this model but struggling with upload of black and white list. Did the export then went in and added the plates etc including Card ID (which I assumed is the VechicleWiegandID which I got from door entry software) I have seen in your previous video’s you need to ensure that all the fields are set to text format. (which I have checked) When trying to import I constantly receive the “importing configuration file failed” Any advise? Other than this I have setup with all the configuration detail specified in the video with exception of turning on Wiegand and it all work straight away. Many thanks for making the video
hi I resolved the issue it was the leading zero's in the card ID it HAS to be 8 digits and if it wasn't 8 digits then I had to load it with 0 to make it 8 digits. Hope this helps some one else. PS to be fair it does say this in the manual.

My client would like to keep several months of number plate history but that means a huge hard drive if we have to store the whole video footage. Thanks
yes it’s possible , we Can link to Hik central that will be able to sort longer data storage. There is also an option on latest I series firmware I can send over
you can potentially save them on the NVR if it has enough storage for that purpose, or the SD card internal to the camera. Past that the VMS HIK-Central will also allow recording of plate data for that period to review, so it depends on how you want to implement that part
I did try to explain , but entrance / exit is better for close up vehicle shots and lower height IE car park entrances, City street mode is better for vehicle monitoring on a road if that makes sense,

Mine takes a great picture of the front two thirds of every vehicle passing - and no plate info. The first one was bricked with bad firmware. This one fails at ANPR. Dahua here I come
@@DVSLTDthank you, that is very kind of you. I returned that one and they gave me another, and this one is plain terrible. And there is no official firmware for it. The first one worked well during the day, but the lights were not working so no after hours action. And that's where that saga started with bad firmware. The replacement is back in the box already, to be returned tomorrow. I have given up on them and ordered a Dahua DH-ITC431-RW1F-IRL8

Can you redo the section of this video about the road settings? That is the most important section and there is no audio or at least annotations to describe what needs done. Without doing this correctly there is no point in watching the rest of the video since none of it will even matter if the plates arent detected properrly
In your examples of ANPR cameras you use your gate with an easy to set up left and right border. In the real world where you are monitoring a street with these cameras on a pole to the side - the lane-setup is infinitely more complicated. I have yet to find any combination that works. And the Lord help you if you have two lanes - don't even think about trying to set that up with any degree of success
The vehicle colour and make recognition is truly bad - a nice clean daylight pic of a white nissan sedan is identified as a black chinese truck...serioulsy. And it seems there is no way to update the accuracy like with the iDS-TCM203. Also no way to turn that bad info off in iVMS-4200 (despite deselecting colour/make/model in the camera itself). Hikvision make great products but there software really could do with a major overhaul
@@DVSLTD well that is an interesting question. Physically it looks like IR (comparing to IR cams I have) but there is simply no option to turn anything on or off in the usual place (day/night), or any place for that matter....and it's night-time performance is not worth bothering.
@@DVSLTD things got worse. I contacted HikVision support, to ask them why there was no way to turn on the supplementary light. They sent me a link to the firmware for the "I" version saying it was essentially the same. After I flashed that, the unit stopped recording plates, and it is not possible to enable that function any longer. They then sent me a custom firmware link that made it even worse - the unit now just cycles through endless rebooting after working for a few minutes (but still no plate recognition). That was last week - they have now stopped responding to requests for help completely. I will try to return the unit.

So how does this work though... you've added your car to the "Whitelist" list, yet.. your car is being recorded as being on the "Others" list !?!?!..
