Best video I've seen explaining GDS and their role in our industry.
I must write, this helps a lot to understand the industry. Thank you.
I use to work for Travelport, Sabre. A total of 24 years. Both comprehensive and fun jobs. Front office and backoffice.
Wow the best explanation of GDS, thank you
Interesting, I love this video. I love your explanation. I have been working with amadeus api. Just completed testing environment and hoping to work with enterprise api.
Great work done by the team who has made this video. Very informative.
Thanks
Very helpful content, I am just starting in this area and I watch your channel a lot! Congradulations
Good luck in your endeavors
Very good information
very informative...thanks
Quality content!
Thanks for sharing this video. I have a question though, is there a multi GDS API out there? A single API that integrate Amadeus, Sabre and Travelport all together. Thank you
The first thing that comes to mind is Kiwi’s flight search and booking APIs. They connect to content from Sabre, Amadeus, and low-cost carriers. Keep in mind, though, that Kiwi adds a service fee to the base ticket price. So, your own markups have to be extremely low - if you want to stay competitive. Some metasearch engines like Skyscanner also offer multi-GDS connectivity but typically with search capabilities only.
@@AltexSoft Thank you Alex
I’m guessing you are in the airline industry. I’ll like to know whatever you know ‘omo iya mi’❤🙏
can i start my own online travel agency like agoda, by tie-up with one of these gds ?and how hard is it to get the api ?
It's relatively easy to get access to a GDS's test environment. Amadeus even has self-service APIs that let you register by yourself and start testing different endpoints. When it comes to production with booking and ticketing, things get more complicated. First, you'll have to negotiate business terms with a GDS. If you don't have IATA certification, you must partner with other travel agencies or flight consolidators to ticket flights. Also, you'll have to get your application tested and certified by a GDS.
BTW, Agoda doesn't act as an online travel agency in terms of flights. It works as a metasearch engine -- airlines and OTAs advertise their offers at Agoda.

Can you explain about the difference between GDS and CRS?
You can watch our video about that ruclips.net/video/YavzctiCFwY/видео.html
Thank you

in latin america call centers are hiring young people to book a flight reservation. using orbitz, apollo, etc. 2 months of training is enough?????
I'm interested if there's need for more virtual workers
so when i have acces to a gds like amadeus i still cant book flights for my clients? ill have to ask the airlines permission one by one and then i can book the flights?
If you're booking full-service IATA carriers you don't have to directly deal with specific airlines. You must have IATA agent accreditation, which allows you to ticket flights on behalf of airlines. If you don't have this accreditation, you may partner with consolidators or host travel agencies that do and can help you with ticketing.
Is it possible to send me the Difference between GDS and NDC
To find more information you may watch our video about airline distribution ruclips.net/video/kysFEvbzEgA/видео.html

I do not understand why airlines using NDC's are still pushing info via GDS's. Doesn't that defeat the goal of reaching OTA's directly ? thank you in advance!
It used to be the idea to avoid GDSs, but that's where the current market is. GDSs act as aggregators of most flight distribution data. They are the go-to places for travel agencies and travel management companies. Making direct connections with all airlines that have NDC APIs is a large investment for many distributors. So, there still must be some aggregator, and GDSs are fit for purpose.
On top of that, airlines adopting NDC are pushing GDSs towards modernization, meaning NDC support by GDSs.
@@AltexSoft thank you !
@@AltexSoft Thank you, very informative.
Speaking of NDC's, could DLT-travel-platforms such as windingtree.com be seen as as some new kind of NDC?
What could be the role of DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology, i.e. iota.org) in all of this?
Greetings,
Ya'akov
@@yaakovbendovid8907
Well, in some way NDC and DLT platforms like windingtree are similar as they do try to challenge the old way of travel distribution with legacy data exchange and GDSs as gatekeepers. But they aim at quite different things. NDC fights the legacy part, while windingtree targets gatekeepers.
NDC is an attempt to create a new API standard to exchange rich data between airlines and distributors. If GDSs are ready to change, NDC doesn't rule them out. Windingtree is a distributed marketplace with no gatekeepers.
As for the role of distributed ledger in travel, it hasn't become the "next big thing", yet.
@@AltexSoft Thank you very much for your insight. I plan to reference Altexsoft in my Bachelor's Thesis.

Hi Masum,
you may contact your partner. Or contact us via solutions@altexsoft.com and our team help you to build the system from scratch.
You should have your own travel agency or should work in these related fields.
