- Spot's mum and dad take him to the beach. Spot builds sandcastles, and covers his dad with sand while he's sleeping! While exploring the beach, Spot meets another dog, and they play "chase".

im american and all the times over the years whenever i would mention spot, my friends would look at me like im crazy because theyd never heard of it, so i a few minutes ago i lookd it up and realized, SPOTS ENGLISH! i never knew that before and now it makes me wonder if the voices on this show subconsciously fueled my lifelong love for british things...
I'm 33, Spot sliding down the box and the star ball were what I focused on as a 3 year old; they were 3d to me.

I loved Spot as a child and still love Spot as someone young at heart. My FAV part in this episode was the beginning where Spot gave his teddy bear a ride down the ramp.
This is soo much better than what children have to watch on tv today!!!

Yes but I dread Spot getting the Disney treatment myself. What's incredible about these films is that Eric Hill not only wrote the stories but he also did the animation, narration, production and editing. He learned many languages so he could do the narrations in French, Japanese, Swahili, Finnish, Hindi, Dutch - you name it. He also did all the associated package design and marketing and travelled the world to visit TV companies and distributors and sell these films. A truly amazing guy!

...I thought I was just weird. That makes two of us. I'm American never realized he was English as a little kid, guess I just never cared or knew the difference. And I do have a serious love for British culture now as an adult.

Wow...and I never realized that many of the cartoons I liked as a kid were from the UK. Like Rupert (I had a stuffed toy of that adorable polar bear in the red sweater), Bananas in Pajamas (so awesome), and Spot!!! ^_^ I'm loving the good old U Kingdom more and more everyday!

This used to be my favourite episode when I was young. I had it recorded on a video tape and used to watch it over and over ^^ It's so strange how familiar all the actions and words are... I also found myself singing along to the theme, which apparently isn't easy to forget even after fifteen years =)

I remember when this cartoon was on the Disney channel on the show "Lunchbox" (which showed Curious George and Paddington Bear) here in the US. It had the british accents too :) Not like the ones on the videos released by Disney.

Aw I remember this from when I was little but I never understood why they can’t animate dogs to look more realistic, I mean less cartoony
Why did they feel the need to change the theme music and revoice these in the late 90s? They did the same to Brum, and I can't work out for the life of me why either was felt to need fiddling with just a few years after the original versions were made, and by the same company!

I was flicking through the foxtel channels the other day and found the Adventures of Spot. I started to watch a little bit of it and relised they now have a womans voice dubbed over the original footage. I think they should've kept the original voice.
