Bought this guitar and sent it right back as nothing worked on it! Got my replacement about a week later. Out of the box it needed adjustment. Build is more then reasonable, parts are sub par. Replaced everything. New locking tuners, added a string buttler, replaced the bridge, and all electronics! New 500k pots added push pull for a coil split, and threw in a set of old custom 62s. For a budget guitar this is great! And an even better platform for mods. But it will never equal my prs or ltds. Definitely a fun guitar.

Your assessment of this guitar is spot on. I bought one earlier this month, it is beautifully made and sounds pretty nice as well. The fretboard was pretty dry, especially up near the nut, so I oiled it with Dunlop 65. A friend came over, installed new strings and polished the frets some, because he thought they were a bit rough, just like you're saying. My guitar has one small rub mark in the finish, but is otherwise a real beauty.

@@dennyps1 I installed Tone Ninja locking tuners on it which is a nice upgrade without spending a lot of money. They have the same exact buttons as well, which is cool. I also put on two black knobs on it like the ones on the IYV IJZ-300 has. It's a beautiful guitar with very nice sound.

Our 15 year old son has wanted a PRS style guitar for a long minute. He already has the jazz box semi hollow from IYV and that things a beast. He's got quite a few fenders too, he's been into his surf green vintage Tele since he was about 13 and his SG style that he bought this year with his own money from firefly with a sick metallic champagne color that really is gorgeous. The firefly needed more set up done than the other IYV that he has but not much. Anyway this is one of his Xmas gifts from his dad and I and I think he's gonna love it! I was a bit worried about the weight of the guitar since he has severe scoliosis and other issues but as his dad pointed out to me, he will most likely play this one sitting down anyways. Thanks for the review. I was going to get it set up for him but I think ill let him do his modifications to his own specs. The finish on the one he's getting looks pretty sick, I can't find a flaw on it anywhere. His jazz box has one little flaw in the finish but aside from that that ones been one of his babies this past year.

I'm really enjoying this guitar, sound quality for this price range is quite impressive and it is a really good looking instrument.
If you are on a budget or just looking for good under $200 guitar to start in this world, this is a really good choice

It is a great guitar and for the price it's a no brainier
I just got one yesterday... And I like it a lot everything you said hit the nail on the head. Beautiful and feels great. But I have a problem with the b and high e. Their sustain laughs about a second and a half. But everything else about this guitar is so nice I'm going to fix that problem and keep this guitar probably forever.

First thing I'd do is check for a twisted neck, not likely but look for it.
Next I'd raise the action on both those strings and see if you get a bit more sustain if so, then you might have a high fret or two, rock the frets and check to see if your neck is flat

Great demo on this Den. I’ve tried adjusting the Bridge and the Action but it usually ends up being the Nut that’s the tuning issue for cowboy chords.
I really enjoyed this video-well presented and the graphics were cool too. Plus the “tips” at the bottom of the screen.
Check out “Guitars How To’s also. The man is excellent how he explains it all and he shows you all his tricks and techniques. Probably my favorite channel for something like that.

Thanks so Much Dennis! Yep I'm savvy to nut issues all I had to do with this one is clean out and lube the nut slots. Which I showed some of in the Modding video coming out Wed 3rd at 5pm. Definitely my favorite after all the Mods I did.

And Amazon lowered the guitar price to $129.80!! I bought one. The guitar is great for the price. I only had to adjust the intonation and the height of the strings. And I also changed strings. Note: I am an experienced guitarrist (been playing the guitar for 50 years).

Apparently this co. had been making all Harley Benton guitars until Thomann recently changed suppliers.
I have two HB CST deluxe PRS copy's, one is a custom hard tail build now with EMG's & all new electronics/hardware etc. the other is a P90 guitar with a Wilkinson WPV6 PRS style tremolo. They are both DAMN good guitars!!
I literally get impressed again about 30 min into playing either of them that they play so well and sound SOO good for what they cost me even well modded.!
So,.. I just bought the IYV IP-300-TSB neck thru, tremolo. Flame top + headstock veneer $220 shipped. It'll be here tomorrow.
I have one IYV a red tele type hard tail with a gorgeous curly maple veneer, & P90's that, also plays amazingly well, & sounds awesome, it's very light and super easy to play, frets are nearly perfect, & level no sprout, no sharp edges, I haven't done JACK to the guitar but it'll be gettin' a new set of clean chrome P90 covers, chrome Guyker locking tuners, and my preferred Dunlop straplock buttons....and that's about it.

I'm on #7 from IYV, and each has its own cool personality. I'm not sure if it's still the case, but for a time, IYV made the HB line, which also are some fine guitars.
If you haven't yet joined the FB group "IYV guitar lover's," I would recommend it. It's a great gathering of some good folks and a finger on the pulse of what's happening with IYV, Amazon, and deals abound.

No I didn't notice but it wouldn't surprise me. I will check it out
How does it compare with the Firefly ?
I have both and out of the box's the IYV is good but not as many top features as the FF. I've modded my IYV so now and it's about equal in the comparison with my heart leaning towards my FF cause it has a great whammy.
It's a very subjective question 🤔 best I can do. Would I get rid of either, no way

Just don't glue those top ferrules in like I did....there's a reason they are set in there loose.

@@dennyps1 Makes it a biotch to get the strings up through there when you re-string. I glued them in thinking "I won't lose these". The strings catch. you put the strings up through, then slide them on....duh.

Большой минус, струны через корпус на большом расстоянии от бриджа, на hi gane дают фоновое звучание((

Sounds like some has PRS blindness. I have that exact model and i couldn't be happier. PRS is just a name. IYV makes OEM products for a lot of the big guys. Im sure PRS is one. Not to mention that virtually all guitars are made with CNCs that are made in china. PRS is no different. Check out PRS, most are made in china, Vietnam, Korea or Indonesia . Keep over paying for PRS, Gibson and Fender. All of them are rip offs. Just taking your money by putting their logo on stuff built by IYV, Censtar, or any number of Chinese manufacturers.

I hear its good but that the neck is like a baseball bat. If so, that counts me out.
Personally I like the neck on these with dimensions like these what's not to like
