My dad was one of those men that was involved in cleaning, washing scrubbing floors etc. I thought all men were like that. However, when I got married, I was shocked that my husband did not even know how to boil water. I eventually taught him to do many things as I was also working outside of the house.

I'm happy to hear there was an earth where men and women lived in harmony.
In my childhood, there was no this idea that man was head and woman the neck, it was about partnership and helping each other.
My parents have been married 50+ years.
I do remember my dad washing me while mum was cooking. my dad sweeping the house while my mum was washing clothes.
They both would go to shamba together and come and cook together, one ugali, the other one sukuma.
Anytime my mum had a child, my dad took over even cleaning clothes.
I see them right now in their late 70s early 80s, wakipiga story wakicheka and I get jealous of their generation.
My dad still cooks for us, although he is frail from old age. He says we are his babies and I am in my 30s
I hope our future generation will find this life once again.
Where men and women lived in harmony rather than power struggles... who is head, who is what...

Yho! Nyamburi (sorry if im butchering your name). I am a Xhosa South African who is following Dr Goldner's plant-based whole food protocol. No meat or any animal sourced food, including dairy. You have to drink lots of water (up to 4 litres a day). It's not an easy journey, but I'm so encouraged now. My aim is to reverse diabetes and blood pressure. I have tapered off diabetes meds altogether. I still take BP medication only as and when needed. Now I'm going to adopt that breathing mechanism.

We eat bush cabbage, callaloo and thought that it was because we were poor and now realize how nutritious those are.
We use the sweeping from the kitchen and the yard as mulch. There were no ‘commercial fertilizer’. I grew up on real organic food. I still practice making my own manure. Every thing in my garden is organic.

I recall Dr. Masika’s words, “the God of Africa is very powerful, but when the colonialist came in, He packed and left the cradle of mankind.”
He also taught us that, no African language had the word rape until the missionary came in.

Why does your daughter even have an English name? Me, I said that colonial nonsense stops with me. She has THREE African names, (2 from her father's people and one from me, plus the surname). When we named her, I said, my child is the last of my generation to have a European name. My grandfather, father and myself had European names dassit. It stops. Me? I am not, I will never be inferior to a mzungu to the point of giving my child a European name. We must name for our ancestors so that we keep their spirits alive. Look at Charles, he is Charles III. Elizabeth was Elizabeth II, her father was GEORGE VI, if William takes the throne, he will be William V. These people don't play with their culture (yes, they have a culture, ni sisi hatujui). Go and change your child's name, erase the European name, claim back your dignity, stop confusing your child.

As a Muslim, I’ve often wondered why many tribes in Kenya have distinct names for their deities, such as Nyasaye (Luo), Were (Luhya), and Ngai (Kikuyu). This suggests that, even before the arrival of the white man and the introduction of organized religions like Christianity, these communities recognized the existence of a supreme being. While their beliefs might not have fully aligned with monotheism as understood in Islam, they reflect an inherent understanding of a higher power.
Similarly, the Somali people, long before the arrival of Islam, believed in one God known as Waaq. When Islam was introduced, its message of monotheism resonated deeply with them because it aligned with their pre-existing belief in a singular creator. This natural affinity for the concept of one God made their transition to Islam seamless, as it made sense within their cultural and spiritual framework. It underscores the idea that the understanding of monotheism is not just a product of external influence but a deeply ingrained human belief, later clarified and perfected through Islam.

THAT'S SOME PROPAGANDA,THESE AFRIKANS YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT KNEW MONOTHEISM 1000'S OF YEARS BEFORE ANY ARAB,ANY WHITE MAN EXISTED ON THIS PLANET, NOWADAYS IT IS NOT SAFE TO ATTEMPT TO SELL THESE SO CALLED GREAT MONOTHEIST RELIGIONS ON AN AFRIKAN CHANEL, BECAUSE WE ARE RECONNECTING WITH OUR TRADITIONS, SO I SUGGEST YOU WHOEVER YOU ARE TO REFRAIN FROM THIS TYPE OF PROPAGANDA, ISLAM,CHRISTIANITY,JUDAISM TO US ARE SIMPLY THE RELIGIONS OF THOSE WHO CAME AND DESTROYED,RAPED,ENSLAVED THE PEOPLE OF IMANA.PEACE

Respectfully, don’t think the other was better. You will do yourself a great favor by digging deeper into history, and when you do, you will find out how barbaric Islam was introduced to the continent by slaughtering people on horseback and forcing them into this ideology of religion. This history must be indelible in our minds and never be forgotten. In 2024, is now cash from the Arab world buying your consciousness. I read how you pacified the idea of Islam and l will humbly suggest you back to your ancestors. Thank you.

All those names are no different from the God of Judaism, Christians or Islam. Indeed the Africans were monotheistic even when middle easterns, the origin of the three Abrahamic religions were worshipping idols.

Judaism, Christianity and finally Islam are African indigenous religions.from Adam , Jesus to Mohammed all were black people.the indigenous God of somalis was called Aaleh, before Arabic Islam changed it to allah.somalia extended all the way to south Saudi Arabia n mecca n medina were somali/habesha towns.under persecution first moslems took refuge in Ethiopia,n.e. african larger area among their own indigenous people.

The Kikuyu culture and the Kalenjin culture was very similar in many ways, whatever this lady is narrating is the same as what my grandmother narrated to me about our tribe the Nandi, adolescent boys and girls used to sleep together at the grandma's house, the agemates ensured no-one misbehaved, they could touch but not have penetrative sex. the information is very insightful and helping us to appreciate our culture and our place as women in our society and the way we lived in harmony

Part II and III are needed. Every culture has their elder healers. Every culture has their elder wisdom. Every culture has their roots of history. Learn the history of the elders. Learn the history of yourself. This was an educational video. The local people of this country should be proud of this woman; Dr. Wanjiru and heed her words and learning. The educated have become sicker and weaker, though they have money. Those who still live by the "old ways" are healthier and stronger; though they have less money. Hope she writes many books for her community and other cultures.

We used to harvest Togotia & Terere leaves in the fields in Kangemi when we were kids. They were weeds. We would take them home & our mums would cook them as nyeni-matharūs na ka-ugali😋

Thanks Cûcû Wanjirû for sharing your wisdom, ❤ you Elder, by the way we are Birth Twins, but different years. Now I'm convinced there is a hive mind which anyone can access when you begin your journey of self discovery and identity, the passport is to be genuine. All Cûcû has talked about is what's been on my mind for the past 10 years, conviction has come from our Elder discussing it with Nyambûra and us, I'm on the right path, and will actualize my plan and solutions to make, Mama Africa Great Again. Thank you again Elder and continue sharing your wisdom, also can't wait for the book, may Ngaì grant you many more years, so that you can continue passing on this wisdom, the Book will really come in handy because now the wisdom will be timeless and the worthy will be able to access it...
