I SO appreciate you uploading a video of yourself as a complete beginner with one of these kits. I just discovered them and fell in love but realized most of the videos out there are of professionals who've already done extensive work to incorporate it into their set. Seeing someone who hasn't built up the muscle memory yet is far more realistic for setting my expectations when I pull the trigger on getting my own kit! Interested to see if you've got any videos now that you've got a couple years with it under your belt so I'm headed to your profile to check 😁
as a drummer when I'm in public listening to music I always air drum with my feet with an imaginary kit like this. I'm surprised someone has made it into a real thing :P
Yep left foot bass, right foot bass, and usually my left knee turns into hi hat and right knee snare, ride is invisibly floating on the right, crash up high mid. left, and it sounds amazing in my head!
That definitely looks like it'd be a learning curve for even a drummer like me haha but the only thing I don't like about it is that the snare is getting residual resonance from the kick cause it's so close
Yeah it’s not perfect. There is also an issue with some snap back on the right hit hat. If you aren’t careful the stick hits the floor when it rebounds. It’s definitely not ideal with recording purposes but it’s pretty fantastic for a live situation. And honestly it’s just a lot of fun.
with peace & love, it sounds like shit in this video but if you look for videos of people who have figured the system out you’ll see the design has a ton of potential.... it’s some videos on here that’s legitimately impressive and make a ~2000$ price tag seem worth it
Holy crap, those are expensive. But if someone is willing to lay down 2.600 for the tiny one why not go for the really big one, I guess. I wish you lots of fun with that funny machine.
Congrats on the new toy! I’ve been reading about it for weeks but I finally ordered mine today. I can’t wait. Would love to see some videos of you playing guitar along with some basic beats.
You are totally correct. When I made this I had like 3 subscribers. I thought that my siblings and a few friends would be the only people to watch this. I am totally shocked every day by the number of views.
I'd love to see what a organist could do with that since they're more accustomed to subtly moving their feet for the bass notes. Cool concept, especially for so-called "disabled" folks who don't have or can't use their arms/hands (birth defects, injuries, muscular or skeletal issues, etc) & thus use their feet for most things. I'm excited to see what everyone can produce using this gear.
Awesome! Nice drum! I ordered mine 5 months ago and just got the message that it should be finished this week. I’m a little disappointed though because I ordered that same chair for my drum and it looks like it won’t be tall enough
Be pretty easy to rig something up with a regular drum set. Drums were originally all played with the hands. The trap set we think of as standard with foot pedals is really only a little over 100 years old. There are also those square cajon drum boxes that are meant to get most drums sounds out of. If it is really something you want to pursue there are options.
There has got to be a way to isolate the gut in the snare and keep it from vibrating when you use the other stuff in the kit. Maybe tighten the gut and use gaffer tape somehow? Anyway, i do similar stuff to this on a full kit with the kick and a slightly opened hi-hate. I find it best to strum the eighth notes in a measure and using the kit to hit the bass on the first (and second sometimes) note and let the hi-hat act as a snare on the twos and fours to accent. The strumming negates the need for a pulse that would probably drown out the chords given the volume of those tambourine bells. Just what I do.
I don’t know where Pete will ship them to but company is called Farmer Foot Drums. Just google them and shoot the owner a message. He usually takes a while to respond but he will get back to you.
@@judsonadair9218 it would cost a fortune im sure of it 😅 but if let's just say he did make it fully configurable, this thing would be a must-have to all live solo musician

@@MrSocko-bh1jb Yeah I play the guitar and sing at the same time. And it is an adjustment but the way play is actually very much like marching.
