I haven’t personally played any of the silent hill games but I’ve watched pieces of carcis walkthroughs. Isn’t Cheryl the main character girl from silent hill 3 ?
After watching the whole thing... This was extremely useful :) I had no idea turning off the flashlight can help you avoid enemy attacks. When I was in the last section, those shadow children would fuck me up so much, and I had no healing items left, so when I had to fight the Incubus, one hit would kill me. It was so difficult and took me dozens of tries, but I eventually did it. One of the most satisfying things I've done in any game. Also, looking back... This game is so fucked up. I don't know how I played this all the way through when I was 15, this is disturbing as hell. The sound design was amazing, the industrial heavy music was so unsettling and kept you tense, and the fact the game purposefully tries to fuck with your mind and confuse you... It's excellently executed. Even though Resident Evil kinda has an edge over this series with gameplay, Silent Hill is totally more horrifying and symbolic. Even though the inventory is infinite, the survival aspect, especially on hard, is still extreme. You would never know if it's worth it to explore areas to get items you need and risk getting attacked, or if you should just continue the story with what few items you have left. Konami should really be ashamed they let this series deteriorate.
Some memories I have about this game as I was getting heavily into the Survival Horror genre is that I would obsessively study about the game. This game reminds me of my cousin who sometimes sleep over in our house. He makes me play this each night he was there so he can watch 'til it makes him feel sleepy. He was a guitarist on an underground metal band back then. Weirdest dude I knew.

@@genericsavings I wouldn't say it was scary until mr x an after I learn how he works his scare factor went away. Then It had the horrible 2nd run an claire an leon story being too identical. It was a fun game but had changed to much stuff that the story didn't make much sense.
Dante Vic my first play through was on hardcore, so I think that factored into the scariness. The one hit dangers really made the game tense. On the other hand, I’d be limping away trying to get a health item; and a zombie(that was playing dead earlier) gets me from a blind spot. Lose a half an hour of progress. This happened several times 😡
@@genericsavings I get that. I didn't have that experience from playing hardcore but that was more to that I didn't want to lose all my progress since I was doing the S+ run. I did that right after I finished my first normal run with no practice. It too me a week to do it.

@@CarcinogenSDA Yeah, not that I know of. In the cutscenes I'm pretty sure Cheryl just mentions Harry, and I don't recall seeing anything about her at their house. I mean I suppose it's possible she survived but didn't end up being in a relationship, but that wouldn't make sense given the implications in the good+ ending in Silent Hill 1.

Recently I was playing Dino Crisis with an emulator (I still have the physical copy but I don't wanna use my old PSX), I think that emulators could be a great resource for speedrunners because with the quicksaves you can time very specific sections of games and find the best route. Maybe you use this strategy all the time, I don't know. Cheers Man.

This game scared the absolute dog crap out of me when I was a child. I got to the school, had a ghost pop up at me in the bathroom and I never played it again.
As someone who owns both the pal and and ntsc versions of this game i gotta say this ps3 run is a bit more fluid; but the color difference is quite noticeable; EU games are bit more color rich but much slower and laggy than this esp. silent hill 1 :D
This is the NTSC version over PS3, which is software emulation. The color difference is only particularly crazy over Composite video on a real console. PAL is only “better” because Europe adopted RGB/SCART sooner I think.

It might, check the rumors out. Kojima and Konami are in talks with Sony about making it. Death Stranding was successful, so monetary-wise they would make a lot of money for a good Silent Hill game and I'm sure it will be done. Sony has been the mediator between the two companies into making the game possible.

For long time in 2001 I end this game in hard mode without open the map in 1:24:00 except with damage

As someone who owns both the pal and and ntsc versions of this game i gotta say this ps3 run is a bit more fluid; but the color difference is quite noticeable; EU games are bit more color rich but much slower and laggy than this esp. silent hill 1 :D
This is the NTSC version over PS3, which is software emulation. The color difference is only particularly crazy over Composite video on a real console. PAL is only “better” because Europe adopted RGB/SCART sooner I think.
