I think the only lubricant suitable for maple fretboards is called Naphtha but i'm not quite sure. I have a Telecaster with a maple fretboard, it's still pretty new and clean, so i haven't encountered that problem yet. Nevertheless, nice review, i'm ordering this right now, my old Ibanez's fretboard looks dry as hell.
This might be a stupid question. Does this product hydrate the fretboard? I mean do I need to use some other lemon oil to hydrate it further? It is recommended to oil the fretboard only once in 6 months. That is why I ask.
Hi, i oiled the ebony fretboard of my Jazzguitar with dunlop lemon oil yesterday. Now it feels a little oily! Ist that normal and will it it go away by time or did I overoil it and what can I do to fix it if If I did
@@alexandroromio2720 bruh loosen the string and put them up by putting something between the pickups so they stay up and then just smooch your lemon sauce on the fretboard. easy
every 6 months to a year, but if you live somewhere with a very dry climate you can do it once every 3 months, generally you should do it when it becomes kinda dry and lifeless
I've been hearing lemon oil is bad for the fretboard in the long run. I keep hearing to use F one oil instead. I'm confused and maybe people are talking about regular lemon oil and not guitar brand I don't know
You should never use 100% lemon oil Only use specific guitar lemon oil because it contains only less percentage of lemon oil and the rest is mineral oil
Pat doesn't lemon oil eventually dries up the rosewood fretboard? I read somewhere you can use your spit to rehydrate the fretboard!! Lol can you explain mate
I think you shouldn't oil a maple freatboard, you forgot to mention that. Or maybe i'm wrong.
Great point! I don't have any maple boards I didn't think to include!
