My favorite part of military history is actually told to me by my mother-in-law. She was born in Riga, Latvia, in the 1930's and witnessed the invasion of Stalin and Hitler. What surprised me the most about what she told me and that was the reason why her family fled Latvia and came to America, and that was because they learned that Hitler was losing and Stalin was coming back.
I am German and ... boy fuck, your comment disturbes propably about 80% of us. NOONE cares about Stalin were I live. I "know" what the commies did to eastern europe and even I struggle to comprehend that the straw that broke the camels back is the Nazis fucking loosing, out of all things that happened, IT WAS THAT.
Latvia is balkan right? So pretty much accurate.i mean most people wont talk about how balkans and eastern Europe hated the USSR so much that they've pseudo pick nazi the other evil over stalin because stalin is equally or more bad than hitler.
@stalinsoulz7872 While Hilter killed and tortured the Jewish people, Stalin just killed or worked people to death in the gullags just because the people did not agree with him. In my book, both are evil.
It's a similar situation with Ukrainians. The current Russian propaganda of Nazi Ukrainians comes from how during WW2 a lot of Nationalist Ukrainians took up arms against the Soviets and allied with the Nazis to push the Soviets out of their country.

I think Jack is making points that complement TFE’s but just doesn’t realize it. Jack says that everyone, even “anti-war” journalists, were supportive of WWII at the time, which supports TFE’s argument of how it shifted so drastically to people looking down on WWII. I think emotions were in there just enough to stop the full understanding, which is understandable when you have some alcohol and a passion for what you believe!

My dad was a Vietnam vet. He had to throw his bdus(or green jeans, I don't remember now because it was so long ago, but basically whatever his combat uniform was) over the side of the ship just to cross the gangplank into the US, because there were so many protestors that he was afraid for his life. The only thing he kept were his combat boots and field jacket(only reason I know that is because he told me about it when i joined the civil air patrol in 1991 and happened to wear the same size so i could wear them as part of my uniform, with his USAF insignia). And that was while he was on his way to being stationed at Wright-Patterson AFB where I was born
Yeah. Jack has no idea what he's talking about when it comes to treatment of Vietnam Vets. My FIL, may he rest in peace, had some stories as well. Spat on by date when she found out he had served, the protests, the usual VA horror stories, etc.
Solid points on Japanese vs Germans. And I am married to a Japanese woman. For Americans yes there was little relatable conversation between Veterans from those two theatres. It was different for Australians. Almost all of our WWII personnel who served in Europe or the Mediterranean theatres later fought Japan in the Pacific theatre. In Australia that divide simply didn't exist. Because unlike WWI, the fighting was on our doorstep. We had troops dying in PNG for example that were closer to our northern and eastern coasts than the distances between our major cities.
Damn, I wasn't expecting the podcast to take that serious turn during the offenders bit. You could tell how much Jack loves his brother. Love for a lost family member, I felt that.

One of my grandfathers was in the battle of Okinawa. After the battle, he wanted a war trophy. He found a Japanese sniper who had been killed and was still wearing his helmet. When my grandpa went to take the helmet, the whole head came with it. He didn't want to get dirty, so he took a rock and started bashing the head to try to break it loose from the helmet. It just made a mess of the helmet, so he left it there. He was well into his eighties, and I was in my thirties before I heard that story. My sister is still traumatized.

I hate that I’m doing this, but “The Music Man.” The movie was about a traveling salesman/conman who claimed to have gone to college in Gary, IN. Which is why there’s the song “Gary, Indiana.” Music Man also brought us the songs “76 Trombones,” and also “Shipoopi,” which was the song from Peter Griffins Touchdown Dance when he played for the Patriots in season 1 or 2. Back when Family Guy was decent enough.

Taming down history is kinda the problem because it takes away all the context as to why things are the way they are. Like the cleansing of Europeans into "refined Gentleman" which is the biggest load of f***in bullshit. They are worse than the US. The only reason WW3 didn't start in Europe is because America kicked their asses, twice. Though it might still happen because Russia is technically European. @the_fat_electrician legit needs to add a "Hot Takes" style segment/episode in addition to his regular show where he goes into exactly the same type of (for lack of a better term) rant as he did about "winning Vietnam". That was such an articulate and brilliant argument he made.
1. Knowing that Jack Mandaville hates Tommy Tubbyville brought a warm, fuzzy feeling to my heart. 2. I fully support TFE's drive to start teaching accurate history. 3. I don't know who King Trout is...but I love that guy now. 4. Listening to Eli talk about his experience was sobering, heartbreaking... 5. Friedrich Wilhelm von Steuben is going to piss off a lot of anti-woke assholes who NEVER opened a history book. 6. American exceptionalism is real because we have been kicking ass for a long, goddamn time and it's about time that someone started talking about the accomplishments of our troops in every combat theater. 7. TFE's depiction of our troops is accurate. Past Operation Praying Mantis, the US military has been fully capable of dropping nations with impunity, yet we've never kept more arable land than was necessary for us to bury the soldiers who gave their lives to keep that country free. 8. No combat veteran should ever have to pay for medical care...ever. No combat veteran should ever have to wait for medical care...period. 9. I drank a LOT watching this video...
My college Ancient History professor put it this way, "History is written after the fact." There will be bias placed into any History they write. It is not usually written by those who did what was done.
That was a great line TFT "Vally Fair", honestly though Mr Mandaville was going to lose it, then he starts laughing. Yes He does need to start a channel his takes on history would be awesome to hear.
I know 5 Vietnam veterans that have told me how they were treated and have changed the way i address them. I now tell them welcome home cause that’s not what most got
My Grandfather served in the Navy in the Pacific on a Destroyer. To the day he died, he NEVER forgave the Japanese. He said the stress of living with the terror of having a plane flown into your ship by a suicidal enemy left a permanent scar on his psyche. He was never violent with people of Asian decent, but he would most definitely walk away from them rather than interact with them.
My grandfather wouldn't buy anything Mitsubishi. It didn't matter if it was somehow the best whatever out there. He wouldn't give them one single penny. There were a few other brands as well, but I'm blanking offhand. VW was definitely another one.
Jack is very much wrong about Vietnam veterans. My father was in Vietnam and was proud to come home in 1972. He’s told the story many times how he wore his uniform getting off the plane in New York and walked out of the airport to be called a baby killer, had shit thrown on him and spit on. He went to jail for beating the crap out of some hippies that day and then reenlisted to go back because he felt he wasn’t wanted in America anymore. So Jack should talk to Vietnam veterans and how they were treated when they got home.

Yeah glad someone finally said it. Remember reading a while back that even north vietnamese generals admitted they lost and wouldnt have invaded the south if they knew we would commit again. Also jack seems to be like 5-10° off on a lot of his points... hes kind of an idiot.
The European theatre was more focused on because of 2 things. 1: Holocaust victims were mainly … 2: It was said earlier in the podcast USA burying the crimes they committed because it was medical information that was wanted but had the “morals”

@the_fat_electrician legit needs to add a "Hot Takes" style segment/episode in addition to his regular show where he goes into exactly the same type of (for lack of a better term) rant as he did about "winning Vietnam". That was such an articulate and brilliant argument he made.
Man, Eli doing manual of arms style videos for camera gear would actually be a fascinating channel
2 hours of trying to listen to guests talk to each other while Eli screams over them every 2 minutes. Great episode
Compared to Baddie he was borderline whispering at the guests. The pod is so much better now.
Fat electrician makes me miss baddie @@GT-oz8hn
@@GT-oz8hnwhat happened to baddie
been enjoying Jacks antics since before Range 15 , he's my spirit animal
My college Ancient History professor put it this way, "History is written after the fact." There will be bias placed into any History they write. It is not usually written by those who did what was done.
Yall should give your editor a raise after this episode. 😂
@@thylordkineticI think your Instagram got removed
A raise? You think they pay him?
King Trout's off set should be he can shape-shift but he stutters every time he's answering a question 😂
Or has a massive tattoo of his real face on his back.
I don't often go all "fan girl," but a Jack Mandaville/Fat Electrician episode is like beatlemania
I'm 42, and legit, Vietnam was BARELY touched in my history classes. Everyting I learned was from my parents who lived through the "Conflict"
Hell yeah! Can't wait to get started!
Baddie looking real rough without his glasses now! 👀
That was a great line TFT "Vally Fair", honestly though Mr Mandaville was going to lose it, then he starts laughing. Yes He does need to start a channel his takes on history would be awesome to hear.
I would DEFINITELY listen to real life Warrio rant about random history things. DO IT JACK!
I know 5 Vietnam veterans that have told me how they were treated and have changed the way i address them. I now tell them welcome home cause that’s not what most got
This was awesome! It’s Saturday and mowed the lawn and did yard stuff laughing my ass off!! Keep em coming boys!!
Never clicked off a video so fast only for drunk history 😂😂
Same. I clicked on a vid, saw this under it in recommended, and clicked over to this
Eli making everyone extremely uncomfortable is hilarious to everyone that's not in the room
Yeah 1:12:26 made me uncomfy 😅
Eli PLEASE make that channel. I would be SO happy to learn from you .
I'm all in on Jack doing content. Love his crazy ass
Holllyyyyyyy helllll!!!! This was great!!!! Jack and fat electrician are the best duo ever! And trout guy's uncomfortableness was hilarious 😅😅😅😅 this was great! Yeeyee guy!!!!!
Sometimes I wonder why RUclips holds these works of art hostage for so long. And then, the episode drops, and within the first 10 minutes it all makes sense! 🤣 I absolutely love the super long episodes!
The random cuts speak for themselves lmao
@@jamesmccandless3435 🤣 Nick saying "can I make a joke about..." with a quick cut to a black screened "Nope." All like 5 minutes in.

I've started this episode a couple of times. This was my first time watching it all the way through. Gentlemen, this could be your best work. Excellent job, you are all awesome!
I love the rate that this conversation devolves.
The offenders has returned, this episode is pure gold , keep it up lads
When did baddie become magnito for drywall?
Drywall magneto, and it wasn't mentioned in a podcast on youtube don't know about the patreon
47:20 Fat electrician nose boop attempt right there 🤣🤣. I swear every time he's on I just look out for them
The vietnam boxing analogy would actually be more like
You TKO the guy, he signs an agreement saying he lost and he’s sorry, then a few years later he knocks out your smaller friend who was cheering you on by the ring
1: Holocaust victims were mainly …
2: It was said earlier in the podcast USA burying the crimes they committed because it was medical information that was wanted but had the “morals”
... Is the same group(s) of people who have historically been targeted by the well documented pen pals of the nazi party, as well as having a leader-to-leader personal correspondence for social and tactical advice in both directions:

King Trout is amazing lol that history factory joke was beautiful
You have NO IDEA how much I lit up upon seeing The Fat Electrician onthe guest list!
Make sure we all support Jack in the fight against cats throwing up

A month ago y'all put out a call for who we wanted to see, I said KingTrout with Fat Electrician.... And it is everything I had hoped for!
King Trout looks a bit like an alternate universe version of Macauley Kulkin, whose life didn't go down the road of hard drugs...
King Trout is dressed like Buffalo Bills patriotic younger brother. 😂
I need to stop watching this podcast...it makes me drink more 😂😂
Much love to you fellas and many thanks for the many hours of peer therapy 🫡
The cat puke monologue had me crying
