It's very sad that a journalist like Barkha Dutt is simply not armed with enough facts to challenge a person like Sajeeb Wazed Joy when he starts lying. And this is due to years and years of lacking engagement with topics from Bangladesh. Even when some things sound fishy to her, she doesn't have the confidence to question him, because she knows that she actually doesn't know anything. So she plays it safe and just lets him speak (and keep lying). There is a knowledge deficit that you can never make up by jumping on the bandwagon of a single topic. Given that is the case, it would be better if Ms Dutt continued to not engage with topics from Bangladesh, as she sees out her days in journalism. It's better than letting your platform be used as an assembly line for blatant lies while you just sit and stare. Embarrassing.

It was very clear that she mentioned this derogatory word in order to insinuate students protesters. And Sajeeb also claims here that some students were chanting “we are Razakar, we are Razakar” which is not true at all. The students were chanting the exactly quote here in Bangla “আমি কে তুমি কে, রাজাকার রাজাকার। কে বলেছে কে বলেছে, হাসিনার সরকার হাসিনার সরকার”. Translated meaning in English “who are you ? Who am I ? Razakar Razakar. Who said that ? Hasina’s government”. But Sajeeb is making it sounds like they were self proclaiming themselves as so-called “Razakar”.
