I’m from California and have been to Japan on 27 vacations. I’ve stayed at this Shinjuku Washington Hotel many times. I liked some things about it very much. The green tea, waters, bed, TV and bidet are nice. But some staff really don’t know adequate English to help someone like me. I asked one counter staff person repeatedly for an envelope. He didn’t know that word. When I said “blank envelope,” he said “Blanket?” I cut myself and wanted a packet of first aid ointment to add to my bandage I did have. The staff did not have the ointment for me. They suggested I ask at the FamilyMart. But I had no luck there because I could not read what the tubes were and I was sure the counter staff in there would not know what first aid ointment was. Also the “Face Soap” shown in the bathroom unfortunately is not used anymore. Now it’s this awful yellow “Royal Jelly” soap which I cannot use as a lifestyle vegan. Also I lost my old passport at that hotel, they found it but instead of returning it to me, they gave it to the police and it was very difficult to get it back. I like the room delivery robot that acts happy when you give it five stars, although I didn’t use it. I don’t eat at those restaurants because I am afraid they do not have vegan meals. The VIP area and internet room was nice.

Complain, complain, complain. Everything you mentioned was a “YOU” problem. Leave the hotel and their staff out of it.

@@clintonlyle7922 No, what I wrote was not all "complain, complain, complain"...your being so selective about what I wrote amounts to your own complaining. I gave an honest review for the benefit of youtube readers, as they could experience things like what I did. I certainly don't just think of my own convenience; a prime concern of mine in Japan is being courteous to others. My comment here included compliments. I promoted this Shinjuku Washington Hotel Tokyo Japan by making it the place I chose most to stay at during all my recent Japan trips, and though eight compliments to this hotel within my comment. I am not preachy about my veganism but it is about helping others and the planet.
